I normally do not wear oil free foundations because I like a dewy finish, so I am surprised at how dewy this foundation looks since it is oil free. I wear this in Fiji which is perfect for my NC20/25 skin that has slight yellow undertones. This foundation has a light and sheer finish which I like, but does not have the full coverage as much as Stila's 20 Watts which is one of my HG foundations. If you are looking for a foundation that is dewy, but light on your skin, try this. I wouldn't recommend it though if you are looking for a foundation with more coverage.

UGH. This stuff is horrible. Dries like right when you put it on, feels like a mask, and even though I'm only 15, it gave me like...lines on my undereye area, wtf. Returning it first chance I get, the price for this shit is ridiculous.

I have oily/combo skin, and was recommended this product by Sephora sales lady as being one of the best foundations. I was "color matched" and I say this loosely in "Barcelona". This oxidized and quickly turned orange. I'm an NC35 in MAC.
Pros: nothing really
Cons:
very expensive, it feels too thick and cakey, even applied with fingers as they sales lady suggested because the heat on you fingers helps spread the foundation evenly. I tried my fingers as suggested, and it didn't work. This foundation is too thick for a stipling brush. A paddle brush works ok along with a sponge. Once applied, this foundation felt like a mask, and unnatural.

so i bought this foundation and it gave me an allergic reaction. i got really itchy all over my face and and had watery eyes after applying. this is the first time i have ever gotten an allergic reaction from a liquid foundation. i have used drugstore brands and those never even gave me any allergic reactions. ughh.. worse foundation ever...

Writing this on behalf of my niece who broke out terribly 2 weeks after starting to use Nars. We begged her to go see a dermatologist as she never had issues with skin, so we figured had to be a change in routine.
Beware, as it will cost you even more than the foundation if you have to see a dermatologist , like she did.
Nars, we learend, is full of mineral oil. Way to clog pores.

I regrettably bought this foundation due to reading positive reviews on make up blogs...WHAT A MISTAKE!!!
1) Bad coverage - the consistency is like water - no good for covering acne scars!!!
2) The price - paid £37 ( including p&p)
3) The smell - clay like..yuck!! continued >>

The lovely Nars lady tried to do me good, but failed miserably.
I really don't like the majority of things geared at my skin type: oily, acne prone, combination, easily clogged, etc. as they dry (if they're treatments or cleansers or makeup). This really is the worst of all makeups, and if you're oily (and the SA can see that) and you're about to get your face done over by Nars, please make sure she doesn't try this on you. My sister and mother thought I looked like a clown when I came home, it was just utterly horrible. Not the natural look I try to achieve at all. I don't like foundations in general, but this one was just, paint without oil! i'm surprised my skin didn't have a heart attack for goodness sakes. It's cakey, uncomfortable to wear, doesn't hide any flaws at all but focuses on pores etc, and it's pricey. Oh, I almost forgot, the one pro: the shade matched. As All Shall Perish would say, Never Again.

A sales associate in Sephora recommended this product for my oilies. Unfortunately, it does nothing. It's a regular foundation that has medium coverage. Texture is very thick. Nothing spectacular except for the exp price.

I love NARS, but this foundation is a joke. I threw it away, it was so bad. Couldn't bring myself to give it away and subject someone else to its horrors.
Cacky, pasty, patchy, bad coverage, impossible to apply smoothly and evenly even with the help of the genius that is the Beautyblender sponge. It actually already separates in the bottle... so how on earth can it create an even finish on your face? Basically, the formula is flawed, in my opinion.
In short, make-up at its worse.
Sure, the color range is good... but what's the point if it makes you look like the poster girl for a bad complexion, self-consciously hiding behind clumsy, amateur make-up?

I really wanted to like this product. I have very oily skin and it seemed oil free would be the way to go to help prevent clogged pores. You need to apply it with a kabuki brush in a circular motion to get the application just right. I find that it is an OK foundation not my HG by any means .

Amazing foundation! It was not easy for me to find just the right foundation for my skin since I have combination acne prone skin. I've tried a whoooooole lot of stuff. I'm Asian and the color St. Tropez blends nicely with my medium yellow toned skin. You just need a small amount....less than the size of a dime and spread evenly. I use a sponge and it's not heavy at all. The trick to avoid looking cakey with any foundation is to just use a small amount. I set it very lightly with a pinch of Laura Mercier's loose powder. I used to use MAC studio fix compact and it gave me lots of acne. I love the quality of all NARS makeup.

This is literally the worst foundation i have ever used in my life!!!!!!
*First of all it has an extreme orange tone to it.
*very slimy and sticky and takes forever to dry after applyed
*Looks EXTREMELY caked on when set with powder , defines wrinkles
*I live in texas so its not to get alil sweat on the upper lip, most foundations hold up fine, BUT this one wiped off all makeup with one small bead of sweat! unnacceptable
*felt very heavy and made me break out
*skin looked very oily at the end of the day and i do not have oily skin
*VERY poor coverage with one app.
* most overhyped and very poor quality for the extremly high price for foundation
-Overall worst foundation of my life...

This Foundation is amazing!!! I haven't been so excited about a liquid foundation since MUFE HD my HG foundation. This is definately what I would call a quality foundation It really does what the company claims to do it gives light to medium coverage and it's mattifying. I wore it during a humid environment and I didn't a broiled turkey look and I didn't use powder to set not once! I'm very impressed becuase normally I have to blot and set my foundation with powder. This foundation also dries real quick, so I wet the tip of my stippling brush just a bit so I can get a little more time applying. I definately cannot use my 180 for this one. This will definately be my go to foundation for the summer months, I would definately buy this again.
Pros: the texture is truly Lightweight , gives a soft matte finish, and I don't feel like I'm wearing anything on my skin.
Cons: the packaging no pump!!! also the price!

:( This is my first bad review on MUA im really sad to have to do this.
I really wanted to like this, really... the shade matched my skin tone okay, maybe a little bit orange but thats understandable because it was winter (although im of caribbean descent i tend to go very pale in winter, so a foundation that works for me in summer may be too dark in winter, lol).
Anywho after about two weeks, i had a work christmas party to attend and to my utter horror i developed a HUGE rash all over my face, which in addition to my acne, was extremely depressing. Not only was it bumpy and red, it was very itchy and irritating, my face was peeling...just horrible. This is like a stark contrast compared to most of the other decent reviews, so i was kinda shocked because i do not have sensitive skin!
I would defo not repurchase or recommend this, but it seems like im an exception... i cant really understand why i reacted so badly to this foundation.

This is my HG foundation so far! I've tried a lot, and this has come to be the one I like the best. It stays put all day when using my MAC pro set powder on top, and I have finally found a shade that matches me perfectly! Budapest is my shade, I'm about an NC20-25 in MAC foundations, somewhere between 120/123/125 in MUFE HD foundation and about an 20-30 in MUFE Mat Velvet+.
It lasts all day, makes my skin look flawless and very natural. I won't be buying any other foundations in a long while, except MUFE's, which I also like :)

NARS Oil Free Foundation is the only foundation I've ever bought more than one bottle of - and I've been using liquid foundation for 19 years... It is the only foundation I have used where I can apply two or even three layers to problem areas (my overly rosy cheeks...) without the foundation caking and looking obvious. Seriously, most people at work think I don't even wear foundation.
I use Mont Blanc, which is the lightest shade, porcelain with a slight rosy undertone. This shade is just a touch lighter than NW15 (based on my using Studio Sculpt).
Before using this foundation, I used to have to slap on foundation plus a very healthy layer of concealer to tone down my cheeks. Jeez, I used so much concealer I just gave up on foundation and put concealer all over my face at one point! Now I don't have even have to use concealer, which is soooo less fiddly and expensive...
I've read that a lot of people have had trouble with the quick-drying nature of this foundation. It's true, it does dry quickly, so I guess the success of this foundation depends on your preferred application method. I apply straight after moisturiser, a section of my face at a time, blending in by quickly patting with my fingertips. When I've finished my whole face, I pat some more onto my red areas. I would say this provides a matte, medium buildable coverage - I can achieve a very natural look whilst still successfully toning down my red cheeks. If you're a fan of letting your foundation sink in for a while, I think it would be much more time-consuming to apply this foundation without it catching on any dry areas. I do use powder as well with this foundation, and I probably do a powder touch up about once a day.
Overall, this foundation was a little epiphany for me - it stays put, it layers without looking obvious, and for me, it's been brilliant for covering redness.

This product by far is the best Liquid foundation i have ever had! I am actually happy in using MAC studio Fix and Chanel Mat Lumier Liquid, and as i walk outside the department store i realize i just bought a NARS oilfree foundation! (the magic of depatment store clerks) haha!. So i tried it using a foundation brush, HATE IT! then the next day i tried to use my makeup sponges and still, HATE IT! and after a week, i tried to use my fingers and... I LOVE IT! its a very HG thing!! i love love love this! Perfect coverage that is not that heavy nut just enough! Staying power that last very long! VERY GOOD!, i JUST LOVE NARS SO MUCH!

This product retails for $99 australian dollars.
This foundation looks amazing on everyone's skin but mine, which makes me jealous.
So for that reason and the price I do not rate this foundation very highly.

This is one of my favorite foundations. I wear it on my good skin days. It's quite expensive, but it is a quality foundation. It is truly mattifying, and for a long time. The coverage is a good medium, definitely not heavy or sheer. It does cover light marks and evens skin tone beautifully. It has kaolin clay... and it is apparent w/ the smell (a good scent in my opinion). This foundation also dries real quick, so it's best to work in small sections. Also, do not try to "rub" the foundation in. In other words, don't pull with the foundation brush, don't "spread" it. Just tap it in. I stipple with both a foundation brush and stippling brush. Also, the color when wet is lighter than what it actually is. This is due to the clay. Once it dries, the color deepens.

This foundation really isn't completely horrible. It wears decently and gives an okay finish, but there are some deal breakers encompassed into it!
First, the smell is horrible. It almost made me gag when I put it on my face. I can't really describe it; maybe old cheese or something. And I swear I could smell it all day long - it never faded! I had to wash my makeup brush about three times to get the odor out of it. Even if it lasted all day and gave an impeccable finish (which it does neither), I would have to say no to this simply for this reason. Thank goodness it was only a sample I had!
Second, I am fair, but I am by no means the palest person I've seen. I have warmer undertones, and I am about NW20-25 for reference, depending on the season. I had this in the lightest shade, Deauville, and it still seemed too dark on me. I have a hard time believing anyone who doesn't have natural color or doesn't spend at least two days a week in a tanning bed could use this foundation line.
However, if you don't have a strong sense of smell, and you aren't remotely pale, then you might give this a try. The redeeming qualities might make it worthwhile for you.
