I just bought Stila's High Shine Lip Color in Elektra. This is the best lip anything I have ever used. It feels great on, makes my 40 year old lips look smooth and young, and it has just the right amount of color as it is so sheer. I mean really sheer. Glad I bought the shade I thought would be too dark on me! I am a lipstick wearer, but lately my usual stuff makes my lips look old-yuk! I needed something thin and smooth that might last longer than 30 seconds. This is it!

I just purchased a brand new offering from Stila; Long Wear Lip Color in "Treasure". It's a lonlasting formula that also claims to be moisturizing. Today was the first test drive and I'm quite impressed. First things first: the color palate is a little random. "Treasure" is a really nice rusty bronze color, with just a little shimmer. It is a little darker than my own lip color (medium pink) and it went on very smoothly. The lipstick itself is like a skinny crayon; the thinner tip gives you enough control that you really don't need to use a lip liner with it. It stayed moist for awhile, although I'm a lipgloss junkie, so I added a very light peachy gloss (MAC Moonbathe) over it just to keep things slippery. This lipstick really looks pretty with the gloss on top. Staying power was excellent; 4 hours and one dinner later, I still have substantial color on my lips, even after using a napkin. I would give it 5 lippies, but the other colors did not seem very flattering to most skin tones.

I was in New York for the first time, taking in the city, and decided to pop into a department store and browse. The Stila counter was right in front of me, and the display of lipstick was so tempting I had to go up and play. The first listick I pulled out was a brownish berrish color. It was pretty, so I turned the tube around to check out the name, and it was called 'April'. Well, now I have to buy it. It has a nice color, creme texture without sparkles or shimmer. Gives a nice neutral look. However I don't find myself reaching for it too often. It does dry out my lips a bit more than other lipsticks, so I have to use it with lip balm or gloss. The silver colored cardboard tube is the low point of the product. The cardboard peels apart, and the silver color rubs off so easily, and the tube gets ratty really fast. Although it is a nice lipstick, it isn't special enough to spend the money on again, especially in that cardboard tube. (I pretty much bought it for its name the first time.) There are cheaper options that are just as pretty.

huge rave for me! the gloss.com samples got me interested. although the shades they sent (pixi, natalie, luce) didn't work well with my coloring, the formula is really nice! very light and moisturizing, and lasts really well. The new packaging is also splendid, I'm in love with the little stars on the inside of the shimmer formula. My only peeve with the color selection is that many of the colors I've tried go orange on me- Jane especially for some reason, but also all of the nudes. I like Natalie as a more dramatic fall/winter shade because it's kind of deep on my ppp/lll skin. But right now Marissa is my HG everyday mlbb, it's so effortless I can put it on without a mirror. I would totally buy more of these if I could find more colors that work on me.

Stila lipsticks only redeeming quality is that they come in a decent (though not fabulous) palette of colors. The lipstick consistency is dry and scratchy. The package design, while attempting to be more environmentally friendly or at least different ends up seeming cheap and shoddy compared with other comparably priced lipsticks. I will **never** buy another Stila lipstick again unless I suddently want to pay money to have a cardboard container filled with colored sandpaper in my cosmetic bag. Forget this crap.

i got this lipstick in helen. it's a nice color of the brown/beige variety and looks nice, but i don't find the quality any better/worse than any other high end lipstick i have. i'd also have to agree with everyone else that the cardboard packaging is lame ... you can recycle plastic too, ya know. and sheesh, if they are gonna give you cheap cardboard, at least make the lipstick a little cheaper.

I got this in a can set, in Jane. The color is described as a shimmery nude, but I would say it's more of a rose color, not much nude/brown tones in it. On my lips it looks okay, but it's nothing special, nothing a drugstore lipstick wouldn't do. And I hate the cardboard packaging; it's tacky and seems to be easily destructible.

Stila lipsticks turn rancid after about six months. This is very disappointing since these lipsticks are expensive. I do not recommend purchasing a Stila lipstick unless you plan on using it up within six months.

okay, so some of these are of average to good quality, but the quality on these is so random, i'll not buy another one. some of these go rancid within a month or two and others seem to last forever fine. i think the questionability of whether or not they'll go bad and the cardboard tube that gets easily scratched and dented is enough for me to spend my money on another brand of lipstick. i have a few of these, and there are some great shades, but even the good ones don't surpass any other brands quality, really no better than any drugstore lipstick, and they're alot more expensive. save your money on these.

Stila lipstick is so overrated. I just got one of the seasonal shades, a sheer pink called Glinda. The packaging is silly (I love Mother Earth and all, but no one is going to recycle these things) and it smells funky. I find the overall shade selection ot be rather poor, though I do like Natalie. And the lasting power is laughable. You could get a lipstick like Glinda at a drugstore.

I like Stila lipsticks, but I have had a hard time finding colors I like. My favorite is Lynn, a brown/rosy tone. The lipstick goes on smoothly, doesn't dry out my lips and doesn't cake up. The staying power is good as well. Overall, Stila lipsticks are definitely one to try!

I have 4 Stila lipsticks in the standard cardboard packaging (Olivia, Marisa, Darla, and Emily) and two in the new duel ended convertible lip color plastic containers (Ginger and rosette bloom) . All of the lipsticks have great pigment, apply smoothly, and do not not dry my lips out at all. The downside is that all of them fade within an hour or two and need to replied regularly. However since I have found some of the most flattering and wearable colors for my PPP coloring in this line and other longer wearing brands like MAC tend to dry my lips, I am willing to put up with it. I like the compact size of the cardboard tube which at 3.7 grams containes more then most brands (MAC is 3 grams)and find the printed special addition wrappers attractive. However, I find the standard silver ones ugly and wish they would change to something more appealing. As far as durability, these last nearly as well as their plastic counterparts as long as you don't get them wet. I've had one in my makeup bad for over two years and its fine. The claims about these going rancid don't sound right. They are no more prone to going bad then other lippie, meaning that as long as you don't contaminate them with food, they'll be fine. Although due to the cardboard, getting food on the outside of the container may very well lead to a contaminated product. As to the new plastic duel ended containers, I like those even less. On both off mine, the tops have a tendency to fall off in my makeup bag and the tubes are big and clunky yet contain less product then a normal single tube. All in great lippies in annoying packages.

I have been wearing Stila Denise for a few years and while I love the color I hate the product quality. Yes...the lipstick is creamy but also ultra soft and breaks easily. I have wasted a lot of money on this product due to it's softness and breakability. Wish it was a better quality lipstick b/c I love the color.

I love Stila's lipstick colors. I use Helen (muted beige neutral color) & Carol Ann (muted natural pinkish color). They are just awesome. Even my BF - who never comments on my lipsticks- said he really liked "Helen" on me. But I have to agree with those MUA-ers who say the packaging could be better. For something so expensive, you'd hope the packaging could last a little longer (the edges on the top have begun to fray). continued >>

This is my HG red lipstick. It's not too blue or too orange and seems to be a true red on my pale complexion. The color is Delilah, and it goes on matte, but the lipstick has a creamy texture, so your lips look nice and soft. I however hate the cardboard packaging - after rolling around in my makeup bag, the paper edges are getting frayed, and I'm afraid that the case will come apart (but at least it won't break like my Chanel did!). :P

This was the first high end lipstick that I tried after my beloved Revlon Absolutely Fabulous Lip Creams were discontinued (after that, I vowed not to get hooked on any more drugstore lipsticks for fear of the same thing happening again!). I use it in Loree, a warm red-brown color that wears wonderfully (it is not drying yet it has very good staying power). There is no discernible smell/taste to this lipstick at all. And I have had no problems whatsoever with the cardboard packaging nor with the product going "bad" on me (and I always keep at least one extra on hand so that I don't have to go even one day without my favorite lip color!) I must admit that I have attempted to stray from Stila lipsticks once or twice (simply out of curiosity) but I found that other brands of lipstick (BB, Px, Lancome, EL, Clinique, LORAC, Cargo, MAC, NARS) simply do not compare. I will not stray again :)

My color is Kate. Kate is the only color I have tried. It is the very best color lipstick I have ever found for me, and it matches well with whatever hair color I may have. It's a nice matte finish, but it may come off a little bit easier than I would like. I love the modern silver pakaging. The cardboard is a great idea because plastic cracks, if tossed around. The lipstick shaft itself never cracks or breaks, no matter what the weather. Only need one coat to cover my lips nicely. Color goes on very evenly. I will always by Kate as a lipstick I wear at a couple of days a week. Great color for work, very professional.

I agree Stila has the cutest package although I dun appreciate eyeshadow packed in a paper box which means shelf life might be shortened.
Yesterday, I read the magazines that many stars and girls swear by it, so I went to the Duty Free Shop (the only place which sells Stila in HK) and tried this one. Man, it is not that great for me. I think Lancome does even better. But Stila has great great package, a very slim lipstick, cute, too. My friend thinks Stila Lipstick is great, probably she does not have dry lips like me. (I did put on lip balm !!) continued >>
