This mascara is actually quite amazing! I have been complimented quite a few times when wearing it, is quite noticable...

im not much of a mascara person and tend to wear it when im going out on occasions only but with this I think its suitable to wear everyday and really makes your lashes stand out WITHOUT the clumpy look you sometimes get..

I think this is what a mascara should do..no downfalls...brilliant mascara...bourjois make quality products!

"lash extension" bit burned all over my waterline. actual mascara bit looked awful over it. did not lengthen anything - only irritated my eyes. burny burny burny - avoid if you have sensitive eyes.

Wow! I have very mixed feelings about this mascara. First of all, I"ve been doing the fake lashes thing for some time now. I hate dealing with mascara smudging and getting all over my facecloths. Now that that issue is out of the way, I can continue with my review..

Packaging--I happen to like the double wand. I find that the white "primer" works pretty well in keeping the actual mascara on for quite some time. Also..I like the actual mascara wand. It works for me--especially on the bottom lashes.

Product--The mascara is good--MUCH better than ANY Maybelline mascara I've ever used. Better than Revlon. For me. What I do NOT like is the fact that there does not seem to be much mascara product--that drives me nuts.

Smudge Factor: Surprisingly--this does not smudge at all. When I do wear this mascara, I find that it does last all day--a fact of which I'm very happy about.

Clump Factor: This is not clumpy--another fine quality.

Cleanup: Ugh. THIS is the worse part. This is very hard to get off. I really need to use a very oily product to remove it as I'm older and need to baby the skin around my eyes.

Overall even though this has three stars, I would purchase it again due to the positives outweighing the negatives. Why only three stars if I would purchase this again??? I am not a fan of ANY mascara. I'm a fake lash woman--but when I DO wear mascara--this is the best for me.

Gives great results on my fine lashes, but it flakes after a few hours and gets in my eyes, aggravating my contacts. Shame, because I like the length etc.

I've tried this mascara in both black and shimmery brown, and I love them both. I need curl and length to my lashes and this really did that for me. The primer dries quickly and it's easy to apply the mascara afterwards. The packaging is also great as I love that it's dual-ended.

Absolutely my HG mascara before I started my cruelty-free life (therefore the ''no buying again'').

I brought the Bourjois Coup De Theatre mascara in Noir Diva.
This mascara was a real waste of money, first of all it never gave my lashes the illusion of length or volume. The primer/ Act 1 is hopeless, did not do anything except coated my eyelashes white. The actual mascara/ Act 2 made it even worse, the black did not coat the white primer very well, no matter how I apply it, I can still notice a white on my eyelashes.
I give this mascara credit for not clumping and easy to remove, but that is about it. I've used mine about 6 times and I have not touched it ever since the last time of use which is several months ago.

this was recommended to me by my friend as the best mascara ever. For me it falls just short of that. It doesnt add any volume for me at all but it lengthens really nicely. Doesnt give as much impact as i'd like from a mascara but is a great mascara for everyday to make my lashes look naturaly super flirty :)

Coup de Theatre my butt! This is a dual-ended mascara, with end #1 being a mascara primer and end #2 being the actual mascara. The primer, IMO, is great. It lengthens, thickens, and separates fantastically...as a matter of fact, if my lashes ended up looking at the end of the whole process the way they look at the end of the priming process, I'd be giving this product a 5! However...the mascara is just okay, and by that I mean the mascara is just OKAY. No curling...if anything, it wilts any curl you may have put in your lashes to start with (the primer, on the other hand, accentuates curl). It also takes several, and I mean SEVERAL coats of the mascara to get you back to the length and fullness you started with after priming, which makes no sense to me, but hey, that's how it rolls with this stuff. It doesn't clump on me, and eventually I do get length and definition, but it takes waaay too much work. I've taken to using the primer end and then following with one of my many volumizing mascaras on top, just ignoring the built-in CDT mascara that is attached. If they come out with a primer alone (or if I can find one that they already make), I'll definitely get it. But as it stands, this mascara is overpriced for what it is, and will not be a repurchase.

This review is for the new version w/o the double end. I really like this mascara. So far it is a HG! The reason I say "so far" is because I am on a neverending quest for the perfect mascara, so I can't say it for sure is the greatest ever, but it's the best I've used thus far. And that list is pretty long: L'Oreal Voluminous (previous HG), Maybelline Full & Soft, Max Factor Volume Couture and 1000 Calorie, CoverGirl Exact Eyelights, etc...
I usually don't like the rubber spoolies but this one is great...it is really thin, so it can get my lower lashes without smudging mascara everywhere. It really separates and defines and there's no clumping at all. And, the package is super cool. Basically, this is my go-to everyday mascara, but I'll probalby still use L'Oreal Voluminous for the super dramatic look. So, I definitely recommend this! continued >>

I have the 2 in 1 version of this, NOT the double ended version. I really love the brush, but the formula is just not that fabulous. The brush is like Chanel's Inimitable mascara, but the formula just does not provide that much volume. I would say it lengthens and provides some curl, but it's severely lacking in the volume department, mostly because the formula is a bit thin. It just doesn't have that 'oomph' that a mascara needs to deposit enough product to thicken. It does enhance my lashes for a more natural, flirty look, but I wasn't blessed with great lashes, so I need a bit more from my mascara. False lashes? Only if they are the 'Wispies.' I would expect a little bit more performance for $18.
