Coquette means what? Subtlety? No, it means Flirty, although maybe in a young, girlish way. At any rate here's another go to neutral, but lighter than all the other's: Carbom, Brun, Mystery, Concrete, Bark and then Coquette (lovely on a brow.) These are all mainstay neutrals and have been around since 1993 or before waayy before Lauder bought them. These are original colors Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo along with their team put together. Neutrals never seen before. Waay before Kevyn Aucoin ever came out with "The Nakeds" by Ultima 2. These are neutral browns the likes of which had never been seen before, nor after quite frankly!

I love this eye shadow! I can't believe I haven't heard more about it! Coquette is a really pretty grey taupe color with brown and a hint of green as well. It is a satin finish and smooths on my eyes easily and looks great all day. It almost has a slight sheen to it and makes the best effortless smokey eye.

Do not judge by the color in the pan! Coquette is a gorgeous neutral that has everything going for it. It gives your lids a hint of shadow without being too dark or smokey. A perfect mid-tone color. It's too dark for my brows (I use Omega or the Anastasia duo) but I love it as a lid or crease color.

Good pigmentation, but I use this mostly for filling in my brows. It works too for crease. The color is really nothing extraordinary unique, but it is a good staple to have.

I think this is one of MAC's more underrated eyeshadow colors. It creates such a understated smokey affect when worn in the crease. It looks like a green-ish grey-ish taupe to me. I mix it with copperplate and it produces the quintessential smoky eye on my NC30-35 skin.

Alighty so I bought this for my eyebrows because of its cool toned brown color.
I have natural dark cool brown hair and every eyebrow color I've used thus far looked cool but when blended out had a red tint to it and looked too dark for me eyebrows.
I've used charcoal brown by mac but had a red tint to it and was actually too dark for my face. It made my eyebrows appear too heavy and with a bit of redness to it. It did not match with my natural cool toned brown hair. Also I have tried espresso which again I had the same problem and finally tried Brun also by mac and again same issue they all a red tone to them which made my eyebrows look too heavy and didn't look natural.
Anyways Coquette is the perfect real cool toned brown that matches perfectly. It doesnt make my eyebrows look heavy or have any red tone to it. Overall best color to fill in my eyebrows with. Just incase I use this to make my eyebrows a bit darker and defined. (not to fill missing hairs) I didn't give it a full 5 lippies because sometimes I feel like it goes a tad blotchy.

This is the only brown from MAC's permanent line of eyeshadows that is completely devoid of red undertones. Even Cork, Wedge, and Omega, which are all considered to be on the cooler side of browns, reveal hints of redness when they're blended out. Some people describe this as a brown with a "green tint", and I'm assuming that they're seeing green because of the lack of reddish undertones.
Coquette is one of the best colours for the eyebrows for pretty much anybody, take my word for it. It's neutral so it will work for any eyebrow except for maybe red eyebrows.
It's also one of my favourite crease colours. It can be somewhat grayish packed on, but it turns into the perfect taupey brown as you blend it out. Keep in mind that it's not the most superb texture in terms of blendability. I will repurchase when I run out, but this will last me for years.

When I bought Coquette, I was looking for a greyish / brown crease color that would offer some definition but not be too dark (Brun was a contender in color, but way too dark for my NW20 skin and dark under eye circles). I wanted a shade I could put in the crease with colors from the browns, golds, greys, that would be a one stop shop crease color. I found that in Coquette. And since everyone raved about this as a brow filler for dark brows, I tried that out too at home. I don't need filler, but in the ends where they taper, it actually worked! Who would have thought that this color would work on black brows?!? And it is down right ugly in the pan...heck swatched it wasn't pretty to look at. But this is a work horse. What Shroom is for highlighting, Coquette is to creases. If you would like a nice stable crease color, start with Coquette.

I was looking for a mid-tone matte neutral, as I was going on a "neutral eye" kick. While talking with the makeup artist at MAC, my eye was drawn to Coquette. She had suggested either this one or Wedge, but I thought this one might be a little more versatile.

I am pretty happy with the colour, but I was hoping this was going to be my favourite go-to for a medium-neutral eye, but I find it a little too cool for my liking. I have NW20 skin, for reference. I wear it occasionally, but not as often as I was hoping.

When I do wear it, I'll pair it with:
- Orb as a highlight and Sketch in the Outer V.
- Coquette on lid, Copperplate in the crease
- Naked Lunch on the lid, Coquette in the crease or outer V
Not sure if I will repurchase, I might need to wear it more often to give it a better chance. I put "yes" for MUA purposes, because I likely will (I don't HATE the colour, I just had higher hopes).

I use this for my eyebrows every single day and I've made a pretty huge dent on it. Sometimes I wish it was more on the grey side, so I plan on trying copperplate or omega next, but I have a feeling they will be, respectively, too dark or light for me. If neither of them works better, the I will definately come back to coquette.

I bought this years ago to use on my brows (for reference I'm on the fair side, NW20 is my Studio Fix shade). It looks to ho-hum and blah in the pan, but it's perfect for brows. In fact, I've almost used it up completely, with just a bit left around the outer circumference of the pan, and I have a brand new one waiting in the wings. I've not used it as a liner or a crease shade, but based on the glowing reviews, I should try it there as well and not just limit it to brow use.

HG for filling in brows. I have recommended this to many friends with sparse eyebrows. Asian ladies - listen up, no more red brows please! This looks light and ashy, but it's a perfect match for Asian, sparse brows. I apply with and angled brush.
For reference, I am NC37, Asian, dry skin

Divine. This lovely cool-toned taupey grey-brown is truly gorgeous and is wonderful when paired with Omega. Its easy to blend and very sultry on the outer v. I can't see how anyone could go wrong with this one. One of my all-time top 5 MAC shades.

One of my 5 all time favorite MAC eyeshadows. I use it in the crease to darken up another of my fav which is Omega. Coquette is Omega's darker sister, they're both gorgeous taupe shades, and applied on my lids they have a slight olive hue, which makes totally my hazel green eyes look more green.
I hate warm shades with red hue, but cool shades with olive hue, me likey ! :P I've already bought a back up.

I passed this shadow over numerous times at the MAC counter as it looks so ugly in the pan. I was finally convinced to purchase this shadow and I'm thrilled that I did. The colour is a lovely muted cool grey taupey brown with underlying olive tones. A great color that looks fantastic for neutral daytime looks, whether applied on it's own or blended into the crease with various lighter shades on the lid, this colour rocks. I love using this shade in the crease to blend out smokey and dramatic eye looks too. Very happy to have this in my collection and a definite keeper worth repurchasing.

This color looked really olive toned in the tester but once you apply it's a nice cool tone brown/taupe. I pair it often with brule for a natural/no makeup look, sometimes add eyeliner for more oomph. I wish the texture was softer. It's supposed to be a Satin finish, I think, but it's completely matte. I apply it with a CS brush (one of the pink shadow brushes). I really think it goes well with my light olive skin. Sometimes I wish it were more pigmented.

Coquette is such a great neutral grey/brown shade. It has a bit of a greenish cast to it which keeps it very cool-toned, which is something I like. I just love it on the lid or in the crease. It may not look all that exciting in the pan but it's terrific shade for a quick, simple every day look as a wash across the lid and then darker in the crease if you want (or not). What's great is that you can use something like Dazzlelight on the inner 1/3 of your lid or washed from lid to brow and then lightly wash Coquette over the lid and a bit more heavily into the crease and you are DONE - a very easily achieved look that looks as though you took a lot of time and used more than 2 products. Mascara, liner = DONE and polished looking.
One of the shadows I will always have in my "arsenal".
