Having used a few la prairie products previously I decided to take the plunge and buy this on 19th February at Terminal 5 Heathrow. It's just a shame I didn't get any free samples with it!
I have previously tried all sorts of cleansers - everything under the sun from Clarins melting gel, foaming cleanser, elemis cleansers, Bobbi Brown foaming cleanser, Clinique soap....basically you name it and I've probably tried it.
This was by far the best! The packaging is very distinctive and easy to spot in my make up kit. There's something very regal about it and classic too. A white tube with a silver lid and silver writing.
The cleanser itself is highly concentrated so you only need a small amount for it to work its magic! It really makes your skin feel fresh and clean. The smell is typical of a soap but the product doesn't dry your skin like a soap would! It foams up so well and it is THE best foaming cleanser ever. Fact.
I always push the tube from the top to the bottom so the product comes out evenly and it's a good indicator of how much you've got left too. I always follow this with a toner/clinique exfoliating lotion. My only criticism of the tube is that the silver lid comes off fully so you have to be careful and it can be hassle to get it back on again - but that's a small thing which doesn't really matter.
I've been using this everyday since 19th Feb - so that's almost 3 months and I think there is still 80% of it left! It really is fantastic and if you can look past the price tag then this is a worthwhile cleanser. It's worth every penny as it lasts so long and you'll really see the difference with it.

Its a very nice cleanser.. I happen to find it very soap like though.. leaving my skin SQUEAKY CLEAN.. I don't really like that. I recc Shisiedo Benifiene Cream Cleaser.. does the same if not better and is a 3rd the price. :)

Well, I have been a bit haphazard about my skincare the last 3 months, and my skin has noticed. It has been mostly clear because of all of the Bikram Yoga; however, my skin tone has suffered, and my face has more redness after I wash it. I bought this a week after I decided to switch back to the La Prairie foundation. So far, I like this cleanser. You need less than a pea size of this stuff, and it lathers enough to clean your whole face. I think it will last for at least 6 months, possibly 9 months at this rate. That comes out cheaper than Cosmedix cleanser if it does last over 6 months. It doesn't irritate my eyes. It does a reasonable job on eye makeup/mascara, but it doesn't get off all of the mascara if it is caked on. My face doesn't feel dry afterward. It actually feels fairly soft. I used this on its own for about 4 days without following up with any products, and then for the next 3 days, I followed up with Jan Marini Transformation Cream moisturizer (which I have used without problem off and on for 3 or 4 years). I don't think this combo works for me because I did get cystic with about 4 or 5 cysts on one side of my face. I called the saleslady, and she said that I need the anti-stress cream to calm my skin down. I am not sure if the cleanser is the problem or if the combo of the cleanser and the moisturizer is the problem -- or even the new foundation. I'm still giving the cleanser 5 stars because it does do a good job of cleansing. I would say this is good for dryer skin. This might feel like it leaves a residue for folks with really oily skin.
UPDATE: I returned all of the LP products I bought because I kept getting little pimples. When I talked to the SA, she said that I should keep them for a couple of weeks because her skin breaks out with new products. I started getting cystic acne around my chin areas, and back they products went.

This facial cleanser lasts forever. I have bought twice in the 3 consecutive years I have used it (I switch between other cleansers now and then but use La Prairie most)
The texture is not overly creamy so my combination skin can tolerate it and at the same time, it does not dry my skin up like other cleansers tend to do.
I love La Prairie skincare products in general because they are scientifically backed by research and its website which provides choc loads of information attests to this.
However, I would like to point out that La Prairie moisturizers are a little rich for me. I would consider using them when I am older because they are probably more suited for mature skin.

Amazing. It's better for the summer though, or when your skin is oily, it can strip delicate skin so go for the cream cleanser. It definitely requires very little product to clean your face, it's gentle - I find that using a small amount and lathering it with water before applying it to the face is good enough when you're using it frequently. it always leaves my skin feeling deeply clean.
If you use too much, your skin will feel stripped. Prepare to follow-ip with a toner, I love the ones from LP. Just go light with it all and it will work perfectly. This is pretty much an essential product...annoying packaging though, could use a redesign some year.

Wow! I am using lancome's Gel Radiance (Gel Eclat asia) and I was amazed by that. Then a friend raved about this one and I bought it. It comes in a HUGE white tube. The products comes out as pink, and upon contact with water it foams up like crazy! SERIOUSLY THIS PRODUCT IS GOOD! I have oily, acne prone, and extremely sensitive skin, but this one doesn't irritate my skin a bit, instead it calms and hydrates it. I dont know but since I started using this (2 weeks ago) my blackheads are diminished and my pores are refined, I think this is because of how well it cleans and how easy it is rinsed. :D Please try this, a very good product. If you are skeptical about this product, La prairie SAs are really kind and they would give you tons of samples! I just had an inventory, I have 12 cleansers, from La Mer, SK-II, Kanebo Sensai, Chanel, Lancome, Dior, Natura Bisse, Sisley, and many more. But this one is the best!

I received this as a deluxe sample. It has a creamy texture with small foaming bubbles that is slightly perfumy. Unfortunately for me, this is for drier skin types (I am on the more oily side). It made my oily skin feel taut but did not help with the oil.
Although I won't be buying this, I think it may work well for drier skin types though.

This Foam Cleanser ticks all the boxes. Yes, it is expensive but it's super concentrated and lasts for months! Fragrance is divine, texture is heavenly and it leaves skin clean and soft! This is a must and a keeper in my daily skincare routine.

My skin is combination, feel a little dry after, nothing special, won't buy it again.

PRO: This is a very good cleanser CON: I find my skin is stripped of every last bit of moisture afterwards and makes my skin itchy (not because of the product, but because it is left feeling so tight and dry)...I prefer the Chantecaille Foaming Cleanser

Really nice cleanser. I love foam cleansers. I like this a lot. And i can see it lasting a long time. I like to switch among my cleansers but this is definitely one of the ones I will always have. I think this could possibly last a person over a year. The smell is not too strong and it foams up really well. Leaves my oily skin sooo soft an never dry or tight like some cleansers can do.

Great cleanser - have been using it for the past few years. It's not cheap but its worth it. And alittle goes a long way - you only need a small bead. I have fairly normal skin and this leaves a nice clean feel - not too dry. Definitely worth a try.

The only cleanser I will ever buy until I die. I love this cleanser. It is a creamy, foamy, mousse like texture when activated with water. Makes my skin glowy and soft and ready for my moisturizer. I love it. Nothing else compares. Full of plant extracts as well. This is NOT comparable to soap. This is excellent! HG!

Even though my skin suffered no real troubles due to using this cleanser, it really really was not my favourite. I like cleansers that make my face feel "fresh" and "clean", I dunno how to explain this feeling any better than that...and this cleanser did not cut it...

I have yet to find a cleanser that works so well for me. It lathers up beautifully from a tiny amount and rinses off well without leaving my skin feel dry or taut. Above all it does not cause my skin to break out as so many others do. I dare say that cream cleansers and toners etc. are the way to go, but I just don't have the patience or cotton wool for all that! Yes it is pricey, but is just about the only La Prairie product in my price range and lasts me for about 3 months.

i have combination skin and have used this for almost 10 years. other cleansers either leave my skin tight and dry or leave residue; this does neither despite being a very foamy cleanser. my very oily BF has tried this and really likes it too. yes it is pricey but half a pea is seriously enough for my medium sIze face so this lasts quite a while.
Update: Dropped a star. Switched to Cetaphil which obviously doesn't feel as luxurious but does the job. Annoyed I could have saved hundreds of dollars. Oh well. My jug of Cetaphil isn't worthy of being displayed so it is annoying having to take it in & out of my drawer... continued >>

I've never actually bought this product, but I've accrued a stockpile of samples and travel size tubes over the years and usually use it when I run out of my every day cleanser. I prefer a gel consistency cleanser, so probably wouldn't purchase a full size tube, but it's ok as an in-between replacement, especially in winter when my skin is drier.
