I just started using this cleanser because the weather is warmer so my skin gets more oily. I always use a makeup wipe to remove all makeup, then use this cleanser. It only takes a pea sized amount. I apply it to dry skin, massage it all over my face and eyes. It does NOT sting the eyes at all. Feels very luxurious. Rinses clean, no film left on the skin.

It DOES remove eye makeup. However if you have three gallons of mascara you'll probably need some w-d40 and goo be gone instead. Yon-ka is one of my favorite brands of skincare. It truly is great quality. They originally started developing products for burn patients, so i like that all of their products can be used by those with sensitive skin. All their products have really good ingredients, this cleanser in particular. MMMMMM the smell is so nice i wanna eat it! My skin is always very clean, clear, soft, and hydrated whenever i use this cleanser. I made my mom tried it before (she's a perricone and chanel junkie) She didn't wanna try it at first, but when she did she had to do a double take in the mirror. She was instantly hooked!

I like this product alot, although it is a bit pricier. I have very oily skin that is at the same tie a bit sensitive. I have tried several different cleansers from Cetaphil, Neutrogena, Shiseido, Guinot, Philosophy, etc. This is my favorite so far--it keeps my breakouts to a minimum (compared to others) and is pretty gentle, smells nice and I feel fresh afterwards. Some cleansers strip off too much oil, or others I still don't feel clean afterwards.
On the topic of removing eye makeup. I don't think it will completely remove makeup on its own. However, I ALWAYS first do an initial cleanup with makeup remover gel first, and then use this cleanser. Also, I use this in conjunction with Clarisonic (which can be used with your cleanser of choice), Clarisonic definitely picks up more makeup than just manual hand-wash. So for my skincare routine, it works well.

I really liked this at first, but after a while it seems like it stops working. When I first tried this it seemed to take off all of my makeup (no eye makeup) and leave my skin with a very soft feel, almost like moisturizer. After more use I realized that it didn't take off my eye makeup, at all. Then it just seemed drying after a while, not the soft feel it had before. Overall, I would say it is not worth the price.

I really like this cleanser. I use it AM & PM and it does not dry out my skin. It is super gentle and it does not make my eyes sting. However, I do find it a bit expensive for a cleanser. However, it is worth it because I look forward to using it all the time. continued >>

I never thought I would love a cleanser like this. I usually lie cleansers that foam up and leave my face squeaky clean. but i realize that this "squeaky clean" feeling is just stripping good oils from the skin. This gel doesnt foam up which was a little weird for me at first and doesnt disturb the pH level of your skin. Ive even noticed that my skin has cleared up alot. two thumbs up

I really like this cleanser. Its a gentle blue gel which foams very little and really cleans your skin without irritating it. I tested the PH range to be around 5.5 which is good. The only thing I am not keen on is that it doesnt really improve your skin texture, but otherwise this is a great gentle basic cleanser!

Amazing cleanser, similar to Neova's gentle cleanser. Very light weight gel cleanser, a little goes along way, so even if you may feel like it's pricey for a simple cleanser, it's well worth it because it will last you a long time. Nice smell, feels like the cleansers estheticians use to cleanse your skin for a facial. I think it works amazing with the clarisonic since the clarisonic is already exfoliating this is perfect for acneic and oily skin types like mine. I use this in conjunction with DDF acne pumice exfoliator in day and this one at night to not overdo the exfoliation. I think it keeps my oilies at bay but I use MD Forte facial lotion I and Nuxe (another french skin care line) mattifying moisturizer and Ole Henriksen grease relief tonic and I have extremely oily stressed skin and i've gone a whole day for almost 12 hours with only blotting here and there with boscia blotters and jane iredale finishing blot powder and my boyfriend even says i look great. i'm so happy!!

This was a disappointment. Yes, it's gentle on the skin and smells nice, but coming to the end of the bottle (which is small for the price), I have not seen any benefits from regular use (no skin-texture difference, or reduced blemishes). A major down-side is the runny thin formula, which means you use alot for one cleanse - and it doesn't remove makeup and dirt easily in one wash!
I wouldn't buy this again, even if they reduced the extortionate price.

I was surprised I saw any bad comments on this product. I really love it! With cleansers like this, I use them first to break up the dirt, grime, and make up, and then I wash with another cleanser when I get in the shower. It is perfect for my use. It's gentle and not messy.

Yikes, this stuff is junk. It striped my skin, caused tightness and peeling and it doesn't even remove make up. Apparently it removes important oils and leaves the make up! I was very disappointed in this overpriced little bottle and I'm bitter about it too! Can you tell? :)

One of the many Yon-Ka products to which I have turned increasingly loyal. I love the clean, refreshing smell. The cleanser definitely is not a strong foaming cleanser. Like other reviewers say, I agree that the cleanser does not remove eye makeup and concealer very well at all so I'm deducting a lippie for that. However, if you have dry/sensitive skin like me and you want a gentle cleanser to supplement a make-up remover you already have (I like Vichy's), Yon-Ka's gel nettoyant is perfect.

This is a very light and pleasant scented face wash- however not intended for oily skin types.
PROS: (1) did not irritate my very sensitive skin (2) did not give me break outs (3) felt very soothing, (4) left my skin soft after rinse (5) amazing herbal scent- very uplifting in the morning and comforting in the evening

CONS: (1) does not remove all make up (2) over moisturizing for my skin type (3) too expensive for the amount you get

This was a very refreshing face wash. I might go back to it in the summer when I am wearing less make up and just want something light- however it is not ideal for the current winter climate. I would recommend this to sensitive-normal-dry skin types, however if you are oily like me, it will only add more moisture to your already self lubricated skin.

This is my daily cleanser. Smells wonderful and natural. It does remove all eye makeup, but you have to use quite a bit of the cleanser and really get in there and gently rub it all away. The consistency does not bother me as it seems to bother others. I definitely feel like my skin is super clean and not at all dry. It does not strip your skin at all. This is one of my favorite products in the line. If you have problem skin and you're looking for a miracle, this is not your answer. It simply is a great cleanser that truly cleans your skin and leaves it balanced and not stripped. The smell of Yon-ka products can not be beat!!

The texture of this gel is rather very watery, it doesn't remove make-up, and afterward my face doesn't feel that clean. It seems to be a waste of money to me. Lucky for me I have gotten this for free so I just sold it on ebay.

I got this post facial treatment at a spa that uses Yon-ka products, after using a sample version. It is quite a gentle product on my skin, which is very evil when it comes to oiliness and acne. My skin doesn't oil up as rapidly post wash. I use it with a sponge that I bought from Yon-ka as well and it does lather up with the sponge. I actually do get nervous when things don't lather up, I don't feel like I'm getting clean. So people who have said it doesn't lather, try a wee face sponge and make sure it's well saturated with water (not soaking or else you lose the gel too).
I also prefer this over the Lait cleanser for that sole reason. With the lait I really am doubting that I'm cleaning as well as I think it would; my face will feels somewhat filmy post wash. My skin feels crisp and clean post gel. I don't know if it removes eye makeup since I use a separate remover to remove all makeup prior to wash. I believe the wash should take off what the removers didn't. And from what I see on my sponge, it does.
Downside is, for its price I do wish it would do better...it doesn't seem to have done any miracles for my acne or more specifically, blackheads. My skin has maybe gotten marginally better from oiliness, but for its price and claimed product quality, it could be better. I would buy it again though because I trust it.

I like this product. my skin feels soft and supple after I use it and the fragrance is nice. Does not lather up but is a nice cleansing gel to use. I remove my eye make up before cleansing so this does the job nicely. I have noticed my skin tone looks clearer after buying this and will purchase again.

This was used on me at a salon prior to a microderm treatment. I liked it and bought a bottle. It was $30. I use it about 3 times a week. Mainly just to take off my makeup. I don't use it to take off my eye makeup. Even though it doesn't foam up - it does a good job. I don't plan on buying it again, too expensive for an item that is used up rather quickly.

I was hoping for such good things from this cleanser.
I am disappointed.
The texture is thin, the foam is weak, and my face doesn't feel any more clean than if I had just used water.
I give it three stars because the ingredients are good, and if applied on a Buf Puf you can actually get *clean* with this cleanser.
If you use a high PPD sunscreen, Gel Nettoyant is not for you.

I love the smell of yon-ka products so much, it really is aromatherapy. this cleanser is non-drying for my skin which tends to over-dry with most cleansers. I use mineral makeup and it doesn't quite remove all traces, but no cleanser i've used does. the minerals are very water resistant, but what the gel doesnt remove the yon-ka toner i use after does. it's also a beautiful blue color. i always feel refreshed and clean and nourished by this product.
