Terrible package and horrible to try and wash off!
I bought this because a friend claimed that it was wonderful and I am always on the lookout for good mascara. And long story short, I was very disappointed. The first thing I noticed was how easily it clumped. I sometimes had to spend 5-10 minutes just trying to put my mascara on without my lashes ending up in one big, black, gooey clump. And one I finally had some success, I was just not that impressed with the final product. It did nothing for the volume and length of my lashes at all. Will definitely not be buying again.
Also, this stuff is nearly impossible to wash off. Waterproof is a good thing, but I should NOT have to scrub my eyes to the point that they are red in order to get it off at the end of the day.
Worst mascara ever. I use CG mascara every day so I thought this would be good too...wrong! It is sooo hard to get off. I had to go look at the package to see if I missed it saying waterproof.
This product was allover on the magazines so i decided to buy it, as it claims to be bombshell which also seems to be really alluring. However, it comes out really clumping my lashes and not bombshell at all, even after I clean the wand. Also, its really hard to wash off even I use makeup cleansing oil.
I bought this at Target yesterday because the word "volume" and the gigantic tube hinted that this mascara would plump up my lashes. I don't really need length, as my lashes are naturally long, but I am always seeking ways to make them look fuller and not spidery.
Then I got home and started reading reviews both from this site and others, which psyched me out a bit, because people were complaining how hard it was to get off. However, I took a shower last night and also today after the gym, and the mascara came off both times just fine in the shower with some gentle rubbing. Wasn't any harder to get off than the other mascaras in my bag from brands like Clinique, Maybelline, and Urban Decay.
Now, onto the performance. Application is a bit tough with the fat tube and short wands. Akin to using a fat Crayola marker to draw a realistic portrait. The mascara was a bit on the runnier side, especially Side 2, so I had to wipe some off from below my eye. I typically prefer a more pasty mascara. Nothing bad about it, really, but it didn't pump up my lashes like I would have hoped. After this, I went to work for a bit, then the gym, and it stayed put all throughout my workout without any raccoon eyes.
It's not bad, it's just not spectacular. I took it back to Target and exchanged it for L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara, so I'll be trying that here shortly.
I liked this product the first time I used it. I thought it was okay. Then I realized how difficult it is to get off your eyelashes. I wear mascara every day and I have never noticed with any other brand that it is difficult to get off your lashes. You almost have to pull it off of your lashes and therefore pulling some of your lashes out with it. And it doesn't work if you just leave the previous day's mascara on your lashes because they get super dry and the mascara won't go on them very well at all. I will never buy this product again :(
As much as I hate writing bad reviews, I must say this mascara fell way short for me. It was one of those "it" products that, when it debuted, was *the* mascara to buy. My sister and I looked high and low and I finally found a tiny display of it at my local Kroger. I happily snatched up two tubes, one for me and one for my sister, and couldn't wait to try it out.
Prior to Bombshell, my mascara routine was one coat of CG LashBlast Volumizing mascara on upper and lower lashes and then one coat of Almay Intense i-Color Volumizing mascara over that on the top lashes only. This works so well people have asked me if I'm wearing falsies. I figured, for as much hype that was surrounding Bombshell, it would work even better. I was wrong in my assumption.
The first aspect of this product that I found problematic is the size of the tube. Holy ridiculously giant tube, Batman! That is one gripe I have with most of CG's mascaras-the tube designs leave a lot to be desired. Bombshell just took that a step further and created a packaging that, in my small hands, feels like I'm trying to apply the product with a toilet paper tube. When trying to unscrew one applicator wand, if you don't grip the small part in the middle, you unscrew the other end with it. The whole design concept is incredibly unwieldy.
The second aspect that makes this a big rip-off, in my opinion, is that the first wand (each end is numbered. You have end 1 and end 2. You apply the tube numbered 1 first, which is supposed to be the base coat. Then coat your lashes with the end marked number 2 after that to somehow "set" the lashes) seems to be nothing more than a drier version of the LashBlast Volumizing mascara. So there's nothing remarkably revolutionary taking place in this step. Then you attempt to apply from end number 2, which is supposed to be a top coat. I have no idea what is going on in this step, because even if I immediately apply from end number 2 after step 1, my lashes are so crispy I have to really work this spindly little applicator through my lashes to get this magical "intensifying" (to quote the CG product page) top coat on.
So, here I was putting this on thinking *I don't feel, or look, like a bombshell. I have ratchet looking clumpy, dry lashes*. I honestly believe I could achieve a better look using Maybelline Great Lash clear gel!
Then there is the rub-off. Seriously, for something that practically takes a sand blaster to remove from your lashes, it doesn't have any problem rubbing off onto your upper, and lower, lids. I have a black streak across my lid, about halfway between my lash line and browbone, and a horrible black smudgy mess under my eyes. And it burns my eyes. So I used it and ended up with burning eyes and crunchy, sticky (how does that even happen?!) lashes.
So, for $10 you won't look like a bombshell. You'll look like a hot mess. Seriously, this is hands down the absolute WORST mascara I have ever used. I only wish my local Kroger had as generous of a return policy as some of the local drugstores, because I'd ask for a refund in a quickness.
packaging: no, just no. the packaging is huge and heavy, the brush wands are short and too close to the base of the cap making it a little awkward to maneuver during application. product: side 1 reminds me of lash blast, but a slightly drier formula, which consequently also dries out faster than normal. this side is nice, gives me some length and volume while holding my curl... but in all honesty, lash blast performs much better than this. side 2, however, is a complete dud. i like the brush, but the formula is essentially useless for me. it weighs down my lashes without adding any volume, length or intensity (as it so claims to do) to my lashes. overall: this definitely doesn't deliver bombshell lashes. it barely delivers mediocre lashes. my lashes manage to look worse as the day goes on as the droop consistently through the day. it also smudges under my eyes after about 4 hours of wear. lastly, it's hard to remove to boot. how can a mascara that smudges be difficult to remove? does not compute. i don't hate it enough to just toss it in the trash, it's not the worst mascara i've tried and i do still use this on my "lazy but have to go run errands days," but i definitely wouldn't rebuy this again. i will use up my current tube, but honestly i'm already counting down the days until it "expires." continued >>
I wanted to love this, but get much better results out of 2 coats of regular Lashblast. The real deal breaker for me though is the huge tube. If I had big man hands, it would be real easy to hold the wand and use it properly. If this product ever gets redesigned into a more realistic sized wand, I'd definitely buy it again, because I think maybe I'm not pleased with the product due to the awkwardness of applying it, so it's not getting on my lashes right.
I bought this mascara cause i ran out of my Covergirl lash blast volume and first off the packaging is quite ridiculous, its very big an chunky. The quality however isn't well at all. The first brush is the same as the lash blast while the other is a plain normal brush, which didn't make this mascara seem very special at all. First off this mascara didn't add any volume. It kinda made my eyelashes look weird or awkward. Its hard to describe. I'd just stick with my lashblast.
