This is just a bad product in all respects. It took me a while to even figure out how to get the packaging to open. The gloss is waxy and has a horrible smell-much worse than the typical cheap gloss scent. Steer clear of this one.

One word: Gross!!! I brought this in "Night and Day" because I wanted something from the Mary-Kate and Ashley cosmetics line. The packaging feels like very cheap plastic and use the gloss if you want to get a headache or get high. The gloss smells very VERY ODD, like some toxic chemical. Gave me a headache. The gloss is also very hard, making the brush it came with useless because the brush can't even pick up the gloss. I tried this gloss again later and the same chemical smell was just enough to make me throw $3.00 away. I threw it away immediately (and I usually even keep the makeup I don't really like too). Totally disappointed. Seems like Mary-kate and Ashley just put their names on a makeup that is worth less than 1 cents and mark it up to $3.00 all because their name is on it. There's WAY BETTER products for 99 cents.
That makeup is going to get so many kids sick with that smell.
And remember, this review is coming from a big fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley.

first, this is super-cute and super-cheap. a small but not tiny card with 2 shades of lip gloss with a slide-off plastic case and a lip brush. the case does not slide all of the way off, which is good because you can't accidentally lose it or shoot it across the room. but it's also bad because it covers up a bit of the product, which could become messy. it is almost worth the $3 just to have that cute thing on your vanity.
the gloss itself has a strong chemical smell, very wax-heavy. it is also very thick and hard, making it difficult to apply with the brush or finger. it doesn't help that the lip brush is pathetic - like wire. i think a sponge-tip would have worked better. and, sadly, it doesn't last. or, ickily, MOST of it doesn't last. a few particles stray into the creases of my mouth, leaving an odd broken ring of color around my inner lip line.
even sadder, the colors are actually good. i have 'night and day' with a pearly sheer pink on one side and a vibrant sheer red on the other. i only tried the red side so far, it does indeed have pigment to it (more than juicy tubes, a bit more than philosophy kiss me red). because it is waxy, it isn't sticky. testing the other side shows it is more of an over-gloss than a real color, or maybe it's just too close to my lip color to show up.
bottom line, not as good as other MK lip products, but not completely useless either, especially if cute packaging counts. i doubt i will buy another unless i can find a way to counter the color drift, but i will be looking because the colors are nice. continued >>
