Stings right when I apply, not a huge fan of that. Kind of feels like it's leaving a filmy layer on my skin. It's okay.
Best drugstore moisturizer yet! I have oily skin & cream moisturizer even if it says oil free still makes me oily. This does not at all! I used to use philosophy "take a deep breath" and this is very similar and WAY less expensive. It smells amazing & no matter how much I put on it doesn't make my oily. I'm so glad I found this. It feels like a primer almost and leaves a smooth finish! I love this stuff!
This product is a winner for me! This moisturiser is not greasy, doesn't break me out or irritate my skin, makes my makeup application smoother, has a "fresh" cucumber-y scent, is affordable, has hygienic packaging, and, most importantly, makes my skin feel soft. I also like that I only need a tiny dime-sized amount of this product to moisturise my entire face. Clean & Clear be on poiiiint with their facial cleansers and moisturisers! Hell yes, I'll repurchase.
I use it every morning. & night. If I feel drier than usual, I just pack it on those areas and fan dry it. It smells wonderful, it's smoothing and soothing on my skin. It does the job w/ out leaving residue. What else can u ask for?! Nothing! When I need extra moisture, I just sleep with a heavier cream on. It's that simple! Try it! Esp if you're oily, because oily skin needs moisture, it produces oils when it feels dry.... And this will leave your skin prepped and clean w/ a matte type finish.
I purchased this because I'm trying to eliminate products in my routine that have ingredients that are known to break people out. Most products say they won't clog your pores but still have ingredients that are known to, so I would recommend looking into it if you have skin like mine, which is oily/sensitive/acne-prone. I was using the Equate version of the Dual Action moisturizer with salicylic acid, which had quite a few ingredients that weren't good for acne-prone skin and left me greasy, broken out, and irritated. This gel, however, doesn't have any of the ingredients on the list I was reading. I don't think it's working miracles for my skin, but I do like using it. It moisturizes enough, I do get dry on my cheeks and flaky sometimes and it takes care of that, though I might add a little extra in those spots. I also use the Olay Pro X brush which I think helps it sink in better. It doesn't break me out at all, I have less breakouts since I stopped using the other product, has an okay scent that's not too strong and does what I expected it to do. My skin is less oily now too. I feel like I should add that this is the only moisturizer I've found that doesn't break me out or leave me like a grease pit, and I've tried quite a few.
I have been using this for a few weeks now
My skin: Dry/flakey in the winter and oily in the summer and I am sensitive and breakout prone but what breaks you out may not break me out so if you are going to try it I would buy it at a place that accepts returns after use.
With it being fall, my skin is normal to dry.
Also, what is a pro or con to me maybe the opposite for you :)
-Gel like consistency
-smells like candy
-hydrating but not overly hydrating where it sits on top of the skin
-reminds me of Clinique DDMG but a little bit lighter in texture and feel
-works great under makeup and under the eyes for extra moisture
-I bought it for $6 for a 3 oz bottle
-squeeze bottle (no jar = no contamination)
-does not contain alcohol like garnier's gel moisturizer does. (which dried out my skin terribly)
-will not be moisturizing enough for extremely dry skin. (we will see how well it does in the winter and I will update)
-will not be good for those who are sensitive to fragrance (even though it does not bother me)
-the fruit extract is near the bottom of the ingredient list
-no antioxidants or other skin benefits other than just moisture
-has silicone near the top of the ingredients, so those who are sensitive to those should stay away (it does not bother me) and that could be where some breakouts come from
If you are looking for a great moisturizer and you do have extremely dry skin or you are sensitive to silicone or fragrance or you are looking for more skin benefits than just moisture, this is not for you.
However, if you already have a skin care routine that has other skin benefits but needs a little bit more moisture, then this is for you. I already use Differin at night and an antioxidant sunscreen during the day, but I wanted to add some more moisture to my routine that did not contain alcohol (what my skin is sensitive to) without paying more money for the Clinique DDMG.
HTH with your decision! :) I will be repurchasing when I run out. and I will update in the winter and when I am done with the bottle (whichever comes first!)
I am desperately trying to find a moisturizer that works on my skin so when I saw a .5 oz travel size of this at Target, I picked it up. Looking at the ingredients, I was pretty doubtful that it would work for me but figured I'd give it a patch test anyway.
Yup. Breaks me out.
The fragrance in it is really strong. It's not a bad smell, but the strength of it was off-putting.
I also only found it to be barely hydrating. Even if it didn't break me out, it wouldn't be enough for my combination skin. It would probably be better for oily skin types.
Skin-data: yellow warm undertone,NC 27-30,combo skin (oily t-zone,normal on the rest) with dry flaky healing acne spots,red/purple-ish hyper pigmentation spots. I bought the travel size for less than $2 because I was waiting for my Korean skincare haul that will take 2 weeks to get delivered. I have more luck with gel based moisturiser than lotion/cream. For the price this moisturizer is great, feels very light, absorb quickly, subtle scent (mix of melon & cucumber) that goes away quickly once you applied on your face. I'm not even going to complain about it not having an SPF,really guys, for less than $6 for a big tub (at my local target) you can apply seperate sunscreen like I do on a sunny day or on claudy day I'm fine with the SPF in my foundie or bb cream. For my complicated skin I like to apply serum/essence underneath my moisturizer but I think for oily teen skin this moisturizer will be sufficient enough. give this a try, you'll love it.
LOVE THIS! I have sensitive skin (which is also prone to breakouts when trying new products) and this stuff is awesome! I have what I call a "mixed" skin type, sometimes dry, sometimes oily - and this moisturizer does a great job for me!
It leaves my skin feeling great, it doesn't feel masky or like you coated your face in plaster, and smells SO good! It really does feel so refreshing to put on in the morning!
The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is NO sunscreen/SPF in this moisturizer. Don't forget its important to wear SPF on your face every single day! No matter how cloudy and cold it may be! Luckily my BB cream has SPF15 in it so I can still protect my face and neck from everyday sun damage.
I'd still HIGHLY recommend this, its still an awesome product and its only $5!
I have really dry skin an this work wonders for me leaves me hydrated all day I also use the face wash that goes with it excellent combo
