This was a purchase that I didn't necessarily need, but I'm glad that I got it anyway. I wanted to try this out but felt that I already had similar products (MAC Painterly). This is so nice as a base. I like to just color it on my lids, blend out with my finger and then apply shadow. It doesn't crease on my dry eyes or make me look flakey. I use this on my lower waterline, too. I've even used it like a concealer to clean up my eyeshadow (make clean edges). Great product!
Such a versatile product to have! You can use it to brighten up your waterline, even out your eyelid colour/veins, and highlight certain parts of your face! I'm just uncertain on how to sharpen it but there are many videos on YouTube explaining how to with the NYX Jumbo eye pencils. Staying power is no joke! I bet you can use this to go swimming and it'll not budge! :D
I don't know why I waited so long to buy this, I guess I was scared it would be a flop. I was so wrong. I love this product so much. It's cheap, it cancels out redness on your lids, and it doesn't crease. This shade in particular is awesome. I will be trying the others!
I got this to even out the skin on my lids. But then, just out of curiousity, I ran it under my eyes as well. Nice match on my NW10-ish skin. So I put a little around the redness on my nose too. Not bad there either. I just accidentally found a multipurpose pencil to keep in my purse. Looks a little cakey, better if used right after moisturizing, but not bad considering it's not actually a concealer. lol
I plan on buying a few more to have as backups.
I LOVE this product and particularly this shade! These really last long! It works so good that i've replaced it over my MAC paintpot in soft ochre. I swear, these do not crease at all and stays all day on the lid. I can't say for oily lids as mine are not oily but still, it's a great product to try and it's inexpensive. I also have this in the white one and will be picking up all the other colors. It just works wonders as a base! A++++
Holy cow I cant believe I thought I was getting a bargain with the Milani shadow eyez in Almond Cream vs the Urban Decay pencils because this is the exact same stuff. Its so creamy makes a great base but even better stand alone evens my NC20 lids and brightens them. No more veins, dark, tired lids. I cover my entire lid from lashes to crease & sometimes even below my lower lash line to give it a botox like lift ! I've even used this to highlight & outline my lips to give an oomph to my otherwise nonexistant pout.
I would line my waterline with it but its too jumbo for that, if thats what your looking for Rimmel scandal eyes in Nude gives the wide eyed doll look. Needless to say I've returned my Milani & UD crayons. Hunt & stock these up, you wont regret these $3 steals.
UPDATE: I picked up the tenacious brown as well-dark chocoalte matte brown for lining below my lower lashes-seems to flake & spread after 8+ hrs. Its not terrible but I skip this use now & just line my upper lashes & smudge out for an effortless look, compliments my brown eyes well. I've also used this to contour my nose! Glides on easy & gives few minutes to blend it out with my fingers. Looks incredibly natural!
I love the Continuous Almond for an eye base--works almost as well as my very expensive Trish McEvoy base which I will no longer be purchasing, no need to any more!
I bought the black also, hoping I could apply it lightly as a liner--nope, it's too thick for me and more black color than I want to use, but I found I could run an eyeliner brush over the product and apply it that way. The performance of this product is amazing. My only criticism is that I wish it was a twist-up, be sure you have a large enough sharpener for it, i didn't see any on the display--other than that, it's great. Once my NYX Milk pencil is gone, I will probably buy the white one also.
Jordana never ceases to amaze and impress.
Bought two of these this morning - the black one and the dark brown one. I've been looking for a good matte eyeshadow crayon for quite a while, and since the Milani ones never came out in stores by me, I was ecstatic when Jordana released these and they showed up at my local Walgreens. So this morning, I grabbed them along with two of the Twist & Shine balm stains (my favorite thing EVER) and applied the black all over my lids and under the eye for a smokey effect. And I loved the results.
First off, make sure to work quick with these crayons, as they set VERY quickly. But this is a good sign, to me, that they will last all day. Generally, the ones with a longer set time are the ones that will slide around my lid like it's their job. So I was pleased to discover that these dried down very fast.
They apply smoothly and evenly, with gorgeous opaque coverage. And when they are blended out, the result is absolutely gorgeous. Smokey, matte, and just messy enough (when you do it slapdash like I did) to get that great 90's grunge effect, which is precisely why I bought these two shades.
The price, as with all Jordana products, is wonderful. I really feel that you get premium quality at a great price with their products. These crayons are no exception.
I do wish they were twist-up instead of needing to be sharpened, so one lippie off on packaging for that, but honestly, I'm coming to realize that no eyeshadow crayon comes in a twist-up packaging. At least none that I've seen.
Still, for an overall rating, these get a 5/5 lippies from me. In fact, all Jordana products that I've tried have gotten 5/5. I'm starting to notice a trend here!
P.S. Hey, high-end brands? You should pay more attention to Jordana. They are proof that you can produce wonderful cosmetics, WITHOUT animal testing (I'm looking at you Estee Lauder and L'Oreal), and WITHOUT gouging at the cash register. Thinking of tossing/giving away all my old high-end and going with all the wonderful cruelty free high street cosmetics I've been finding these days, really.
I have this in continuous almond and love it. I use it as an eyeshadow base and it's great! Provides coverage and brightening to the lid, helping the eyeshadows show true to color and last all day. Very smooth, but does set quickly. I'd say apply and blend to one eye at a time so you don't have to tug on the lid. Great product at a great price!
I bought this (and Tenacious Brown) because they seemed to be dupes for some of the limited edition Milani Naturally Chic ShadowEyez pencils... And I was pretty much right! Even if they weren't perfect dupes I would still love them because the formula is amazing. Continuous Almond is basically the color of my skin when blended out so I actually like to use it as an eyeshadow base and it works great. It makes whatever I put on top of it pop. The formula is very creamy, so it doesn't tug on the lid. It gives you some time to blend it out before it sets (about 30 seconds, I'd estimate), and when it sets it does. not. budge. The swatch I had on my hand of Tenacious Brown stuck around for the proposed 12 hours, though it had faded a bit near the end of it (I couldn't test Continuous Almond the same way since it's pretty much my skin color but I'm sure it lasts just as long). Did I mention that both of these colors are matte? And the price is right too, so I don't feel too bad about wanting the entire line (I'm eyeing the emerald one now). I would recommend these to absolutely anyone.
