I bought it because the girl at the counter raved about it.
I have really oily skin and have a hard time finding a primer that works!
Have to admit..this really works great..my MAC studio sculpt(gelfoundation) stayed the whole workday on my face..without it,,it slips off within a few hours.
But i really hate applying it...you have to work fast en blend your foundation with your fingers..i love using a Beautyblender or buffingbrush.when i tried that my foundation looked grosse and streaky:(
Even though it worked great i would not repurchase because it is such a hassle to apply it..
-does make make up last a long time on the face
-makes face look cakey and pores look bigger even with a great foundation
-feels like putting glue on your face , pritt stick comes to mind
-makes me break out personally
-don't like the packaging
-feels really thick on your face
my boyfriend bought me this as a present and I was pleased initially as I love benefit and I needed a good primer. I wish this was good and I could recommend it but its everything I don't want from a primer primers should be silky and light making the skin perfected not cakey and thick like this. love benefit in general but this really is terrible.
Ugh, this made my skin SO oily!
Also, the packaging is horrible, it's difficult to put this all over your face.
And it's quite expensive too..
I think I'll stick to my Make Up Forever primer.
I have mixed reviews about this. It has nylon in it, so it will keep your makeup stuck on your face all day long. It controls oil, and you have to work with it really fast or else its gonna create a streaky finish.
Cake anyone? Just checked myself out in the mirror. If you're looking for a product that makes it look like your pores are puddles full of foundation - then this is the product for you! It looked great when I first applied but an hour later I checked myself in the mirror at work and found that there were signs of redness showing through my makeup and the foundation had settled into my pores in the end of my nose making them look huge. Am at work now and want to try and blend it up a not (foundation is the only thing I don't have in my purse) but am afraid to touch it incase it looks worse. Bummer
Why oh why did I buy into the good initial reviews??? I should have known to wait for more experiences with this product, because it's always like this: everybody raves about something in the beginning, then the product turns out to be horrible,
Anyway...I bought it. It applied unevenly, and made my foundation look bad on top. And it made it difficult to blend it. And my foundation didn't last any longer (quite the opposite). And I got oily quickly.
I put it aside for a couple of months, then decided to swap it away (as it was only used once) or sell it on my blog sale. Nope...it had dried up in the tube and the stick was broken about 1/2" below the top of the tube. And that's how an expensive product went straight to the garbage can. I think it's safe to say I hated everything Benefit, so gimmicky and bad for your skin. Never again!
I really like this primer and that's saying a lot cause it's been rare to find one that works for me. I have combo slightly oily skin, this holds my foundation on and doesn't make it slide off. Packaging is Adorable plus I find the stick form lasts longer. It is pricey but will last awhile so it's worth it.
Do not use this over Mac prep and prime redefining zone though. Omg the moment I put my Estee Lauder double wear on my face it was impossible to blend out lol. Horrible ugly experience lol
I have avoided primers for a really long time because I use mostly water based foundations and most primers are silicone based and to be honest I always thought primers were useless because at the end of the day I would get oily and shiney and the foundation would just not last. The truth is water doesn't work well with silicone ok! Now as for this primer I would never waste money on something like this but I was given two of these and I thought I'll never use primer it's pointless. So because I had two I decided to try one out and man was I impressed. At first I wasn't told how to use this product so it came out looking like crap. Then watched a YouTube video by a youtuber named MakeUpBeautifully and she explained how to use it and I took some of that advice of course she had oily skin and my skin type is combo dry in the winter and combo oily in the summer. So I tried this primer with Revlon ColorStay, Urban Decay Naked skin, Josie Maran Argan serum foundation, Nars Sheer Matte, and finally Givenchy Éclat Mattisme! All my foundations were flawless and they lasted all day not one looked like crap not one! People were constantly complimenting my skin and of course my secret was my skincare routine and it goes like this! I cleanse first then I apply my Nude face oil let that sit on my skin for a few minutes then I apply my Nude cell renewal cream but just a light layer not too much because it balls up then let that absorb and I apply the primer liberally all over and I rub it in now this next step is crucial for me I apply my foundation with my fingers immediately because this primer is like a magnet you have to apply this while the primer is still wet because it's like glue and sticky! My foundation always comes out amazing sometimes when I don't do the Nude skincare step I'll do the First aid beauty dual repair serum and the dual repair moisturizer. And yes I'll powder just because it's habit. I also notice this is mattifying and my blushes don't fade a d neither does my bronzer I don't even touch up. Now that's what's up!
I had gone into Ulta looking for a primer without dimethicone being it upsets my acne. I talked to the manager about this primer and another and she said this was best for me. This applies easily being in stick form. I found from the first use I could not really get the hang of this. I did not know if I waited too long or too little to start applying the rest of my makeup. I have tried this several times and I always am left with the same outcome. I always have smooth skin until I start applying my concealer, foundation and primer. After I have applied those products I look cakey and I have patches where it looks like I over applied my makeup. I wanted to love this, but this is such a waste for me.
I think that this primer works really well with people who have normal to dry skin. I've seen a lot of reviews with people with combination to oily skin not liking it. I've tried the Porefessional primer (specialized for people with oily skin). That one did nothing for me. This primer is great for my dry skin! Not only does it keep my foundation on while I'm at college class for 5+ hours, but it keeps everything in place. Definitely a great buy.
The application is a bit odd at first, but you'll get used to it.
It leaves your skin with a cooling sensation. That's darn fantastic!
