I have used the Sally Hansen Salon Effects strips before, so I thought the french tip would be similar. I can assure you they are not, neither in application nor quality. These strips are harder and more plasticy, and the application process much more difficult. The tips are separate from the clear overcoat. And the clear overcoat leaves your nails looking diseased and abused, not at all healthy.
Even though I love the other Sally Hansen Salon Effects, I cannot recommend the french tip version. Terrible, awful product.
This is my first ever nail appliqué purchase so I am very inexperienced at applying these. 007 (French Twist) is your typical French manicure color, white tip appliqués with a sheer nude-pink appliqué for the rest of the nail. There is also another color available for the French mani range which looked more beige on the box. The instructions make it sound so easy to follow but the reality was somewhat different. I followed the prep instructions which were easy, and followed the instructions for peeling off the white tip appliqué but each time the product curled under making it very difficult to straighten out and apply evenly. As a result my white tips were different lengths and were not straight. Applying to my right hand (I am right handed) also proved to be problematic since the tips on my left hand which I did first kept sticking to the peeled strips. Adding the sheer layer over the top was a little easier but I still had the curling under problem and also it is very easy to get creases in the layer. This layer is very sheer too, and did not cover up my discolored nails. All in all this was a waste of money. I could have done a neater job using regular polish which would also be more professional looking. I paid $10 for this kit which only includes enough appliqués for one application. I am interested in trying some of the other appliqués though, the single layer ones, but definitely not the French Mani ones again. **Update** this is already peeling off my nails less than 24 hours after applying. Won't be buying any of these again!
