I purchased this in the WATERPROOF version. (mainly because of the appealing packaging)
I have very long lashes, and just slightly downturned eyes.
This mascara brush works great for my slight down-turn. Typically I have a lot of trouble getting the outer corner lashes to coat evenly, but it was a breeze with this brush. I really like the brush, found it very comfortable and easy to use.
The formula doesn't build up very well, it starts to get a little clumpy. I only use one coat with my long lashes, and it leaves them soft and pliable, and nicely fanned out. It gives nice length and volume.
With a single coat, my long lashes look great. I would say it's more of a daytime look, because it just makes it look like I have fabulous lashes naturally.
The formula is very waterproof, and I haven't experienced any running or flaking throughout the day. (I have very dry skin, so if the skin around your eye is oily you might have different results)
Removing it is typical of any waterproof formula. Much easier to remove than Benefit's They're Real though.
Really happy I impulse bought this one, will repurchase.
This is a review for the WATERPROOF Revlon Lash Potion Mascara.
-Horribly dry and flaky. It's a nightmare to take off the eyes. I know waterproof mascaras always are, but this one is seriously terrible. It takes me way too long to try and get every little flake off my eyelashes.
-Builds up unnaturally and flaky. It is not appealing at all.
The only factor that drew me in was the packaging. Now that I'd try it, I realize buying this was a mistake.
There are so many better drugstore mascaras, like Maybelline Colossal. I would NEVER repurchase this product.
To be completely honest, I bought this mascara because I thought the packaging was cute. I love that the brush isn't plastic, I felt like it really caught all of my lashes and I didn't have to use as many coats. It gave my lashes great volume and length but one coat too many and it got kinda clumpy. It didn't feel like I was wearing very much mascara, my lashes stayed soft and pliable. It never smudged, and as I have fairly oily eyelids that's saying something.
Overall I love this mascara and it's my new drugstore favorite.
I got this mascara because I wanted to try something new , I regret buying it , even though it cover my eyelashes really good the brush is to big and when I put it at the roots of my eyelash the brush hurts my eyes , then one problem is that the mascara flakes a lot , within 10 mins of having it on I saw flakes right away ... wont buy this again
I hate this. Really messy and clumpy on my lashes and it was hard to get my bottom lashes. without making a mess. The brush is big and bulky and the bristles are really far apart from eachother.
I have naturally long lashes so like mascara that gives a fullness and volume. This mascara does just that. I've also noticed less lash breakage and fallout when using this.
First off, I have thick, black eyelashes. I also have somewhat oily skin.
To me, there are two major things when it comes to mascara:
1) Formulation: In a single onomatopoeia, "OW." I wore this twice, two days in a row. Both days the mascara went on fine. I feel like it takes too long to dry, so if you get past the "drying" step, then congrats! By the end of the day (actually both days), the product was flaking off; between whatever was left on my eyelashes, and the crumbly bits, my eyes were stinging and very itchy. Thus I am pretty sure I'm allergic to this formula. :(
2) Packaging/Brush: (To be honest, it was hard to notice anything but my itchy eyes but here's my brief encounter with the brush & packaging.) The tube is, as it seems, nothing remarkably good nor bad. The printing on the tube is pretty cute. I actually quite like the wand; I feel like it was able to reach all of my lashes, and produce a nice, even application.
I wasn't sure at first how to rate this, since allergies are more of an individual problem than the fault of the product, but given the messy flaking, I decided 1 star was appropriate enough.
