I hated this product. I am extremely pale, and the shade I brought looked horrible on my skin. I have some pimples/red areas that aren't too bad, and I only needed a light cover, which this did not provide. This product is completely inadequate, and a waste of money.
I agree with other reviewers who have said this concealer isn't the best for the undereye area as I find it rather drying to use under my eyes.
However, it's fantastic with covering up my red acne marks so that's my primary use for it.
I have red acne marks on my chin and forehead and I have no problem with dryness in those areas. The Colorstay does a good job of concealing these red marks although it's not 100% completely covered. (there is a bit of red that comes through and I don't want to cake on concealer and foundation so it's something I live with)
I apply the concealer first and apply foundation after with additional concealer applied afterwards if needed. This stuff does stay on for nearly the entire day. There is some fading on my chin if I've had a 12 plus hour day but nothing a touch up with my beloved MAC Studio Fix can't fix.
What I love about the Colorstay is that it doesn't cake and the finish is smooth and even. I've tried a number of other concealers in cream or pot form and they all ended up looking cakey. Not this stuff and you can't beat the price!
For colour reference, I use Light/Medium and I'm NC30/C3.
I've used this concealer on acne scars and dark circles. It gives good coverage for dark circles, but I noticed some creasing throughout the day. Although when it comes to acne scarring or scars in general, this is a concealer I gravitate towards. The consistency isn't super thick, nor is it super runny. It gives medium to full coverage, depending on how much you apply. It lasts me a whole day, as long as I set it with powder. Despite the fact that it doesn't sit well under my eye area, I still love it because it doesn't break me out and I'm definitely acne-prone. I just stick with using this concealer around my face for any residual acne scarring and stray away from using it for under eye area as it has a tendency to crease. For shade reference, I use the shade Light/Medium and I am around an NC35/37.
I find this a bit too dry under the eye area but it's great for using on broken capillaries around the nose and recently I have found this stuff makes an excellent contouring product. A lot of people recommend using a powder a few shades darker than your own skin tone but I find sometimes powder can give a "fake" or well, powdery look to the skin that I can't stand.
I bought this in literally all the colours. I use the darker ones to contour, and the lighter ones to give a subtle matte highlight. Obviously I don't do this every single day but so far it is one of my favourite methods.
For my normal morning make-up I apply this under brows (to highlight) and inner corners of eyes to conceal the darkness there. I use a more peach concealer for under the eyes (Bobbi Brown corrector or Benefit Erase Paste) and sometimes I use this around my lips if I'm wearing lipstick just to give it a cleaner, more defined look. This concealer beats out the staying power of my higher end stuff (from Estee Lauder, Clinique etc) and I find all the colours to be realistic - not too pink or orange. Coverage is medium and can be built up to almost full, although I prefer to let some imperfections show through :)
I would repurchase.
This concealer has a decent coverage, doesn't look cakey or set into under eye lines. The only problem is that it has no staying power at all, one hour after applying it is like you never did at all. It is like your body absorbs it. If it was long lasting, it would be a good concealer. It doesn't work for me, unfortunately, cause I love the Colorstay foundation.
Love this product! It does a great job of hiding my blemishes and one tube lasts me atleast 6 months. Will repurchase over and over!
I bought this concealer in a lighter color for under my eyes. It doesn't really have a lot of coverage to brighten. I would say the coverage is light. I did notice it creased slightly even with setting it with powder. I don't hate it but it's not what I wanted in a concealer. It's also pretty expensive for a drug store product.
I really like this concealer and my HG concealer is from Tarte but Revlon is giving my favorite one a run for it's money. I see the reviews are mixed so I will share how this works for me. My skin is combo but in the Winter it get's super dry and this works great for me. I don't have any acne I have a little scarring and 2 spots that are going away. This covers my spots and under eye without any problems at all. Plus it lasts a very long time without caking.
I use MAC's Face and Body or BB Cream and once that sets I apply the concealer to any area's that need it. I'm an NW20 and I am very fair with blonde hair and green eyes for reference. I find the light colour works great for my skin tone and the coverage on me lasts a long time. Maybe it's the priming I do before hand but I'm surprised that some said it didn't cover their spots I can only think it's because the foundation was not compatible with the concealer??
For me this covers spots and imperfections with no problem at all. I just dab it where I want and pat, pat, pat, and voila covered. I use setting powder either from Tarte or MAC which I have a few depending on my needs. I'm really happy with this product and I just say make sure the products you use are compatible with the concealer and you should have no problems at all. I've never tried EL's Doublewear line as I don't need that kind of coverage so I cannot attest to that. I can say this is an excellent product and for the price and it's a winner in my book. Recommended!
This isn't a dupe for Estee Lauder Double Wear, it does dry down to a hard to smudge finish. But, the coverage isn't great at all, really, doesn't cover much better than the foundation it shares its name with.
I'll be honest I didn't like this concealer. It has terrible pigmentation. It has failed to cover my horrible under-eye circles and the slight redness around my nose. Also, I can see my little zit through the concealer. It's easy to blend, I suppose, but there are a lot of easily blendable concealers out there! Also, the color is too yellow for my skin. Maybe I have cool undertones? Plus, it was overpriced! It was about 10-11 dollars! Yikes! I'm not buying this again. I'm sorry.
