This is a review for the serum of Melvita's Bio-Excellence range. This is marketed as a moisturising and anti-ageing serum. I bought this because they no longer stock Melvita's Hydrastim serum in Finland and I needed a new organic, ecocert hydrating serum. to replace it. Unfortunately it does not live up to Hydrastim in moisturising properties. Bio-Excellence serum does not absorb well and feels as if it sits on top of my skin, like dimethicone-based serums (NB! this one does NOT have silicones). I've used it now am and om under Bio-Excellence creams for about 1,5 months and although my skin is more hydrated than without using a moisturising serum, it is not as moisturising as Hydrastim. It is good to note that Hydrastim contains hyaluronic acid, which Bio Excellence does not contain. Also noteworthy that Hydrastim cost around 20 € for a 50 ml bottle whereas this serum costs nearly 40 € for less product (30 ml). Will not buy this again.
