i hated the texture of this stuff! it felt like i was rubbing crisco all over my face. this stuff is thick and greasy. but even though its thick, i still had to spend quite a bit of time building it up in order to get full coverage. i purchased this because i was looking for an oil free, fragrance free cream foundation. according to the S.A. this stuff is oil free but there is obviously some kind of greasy substance in it. in fact, when i opened it up, i saw beads of grease on top of it. the S.A. advised me not to set it with powder, she said that powder will just pull off most of the makeup. so i intended to wear it alone..but alone it gave me a shiny look. so i purchased the clinique powder to set it with. turns out the S.A. was right..after i applied the powder, i found that a lot of the foundation had been removed. im guessing due to the fact the foundation is so slippery and greasy. so what i had to do is wait about 30 minutes after applying the foundation to lightly dab on the powder which was very inconvenient. throughout the day i hated the feel of this stuff on my face..it felt heavy and like it was just sitting there on top of my skin. i couldnt wait to get home and wash it off! by mid day i was very oily and sweaty looking and the coverage started to fade. if you look at the reviews for this on the clinique website..you will see that almost everyone hates it and now i see why. this stuff is going back to the store asap. the only good thing i'd like to add is that the shade was a really good match for me. its usually hard to find my shade..i have medium brown skin with yellow undertones and the shade amber was a perfect match. other than that, i have nothing positive to say about this makeup.

Kudos to Clinique on the color range with this one, Linen matched me great which was a surprise since that's usually my biggest problem with Clinique. I'm also glad to see they kept the packaging simple. Yes, it's a little bulky but it's not impossible to open so a 5 for that.
This, unfortunately, did not work for me. My skin is dehydrated and no amount of moisturizer under this would help with application. This was really quite difficult to apply, it has a silicone-y powdery feel to it and just would not stick to my skin. I tried a dry sponge, a damp sponge, three different brushes and my fingers. I ended up stippling with a damp sponge and then going over spots where I needed more coverage by patting it on with my fingers. All that work for a fairly cakey looking finish that wore off within 4 hours :(
I had high hopes, it looked gorgeous on the SA at Sephora but I had no luck with it.
I got a sample of this product and tried it at home with a freshly washed/moisturized/primed face. I have combination skin and I noticed that the foundation looked great on my oily/normal parts but when applied over the drier parts of my face, it would get stuck and create crusty blotches of foundation. I wasn't too surprised because the MUA at the store who gave me the sample warned me about this. I was pretty upset because I really wanted to love the product ! :( This foundation would be great for anyone who has normal/perfect skin (no acne) and another good thing is that it comes in a wide range of colours.

I started to have interest in cream foundations after I tried the Olay/Cover Girl version. I was running low so when I saw Clinique had a version I wanted to try it. Granted I don't really have the skin tone issues its developed for but I have a few red acne scars, and slight flushed cheeks. With a light pad and gentle blending with the enclosed sponge the product goes on smoothly and blends in with my skin tone. I'm usually the lightest shade. I am Neutral Fair in the Almost Powder so with this Linen 01 was the closest match. It looks very yellow in the compact but it sheers out and melts into the skin.
So far it lasts a good 8 hours and I haven't noticed any movement of the foundation that I would find with the Olay on occassion. Not much fading or any shine either. Overall I'm happy with this foundation and I can see myself getting it again once I run out.

I bought this is Cream Chamois, which is classified in Clinique terms as Fair-Golden, and was persuaded to do so because the finish (after the MA applied it) was flawless. I was dismayed to discover when I tried it at home however, that coverage was blotchy and uneven. I tried with a brush, with the sponge, with my fingers and just hated it! Then by chance, I stumbled across Shiseido's base application techniques which involves tapping, pressing and blending on different parts of the face - so tried that instead, and it worked. So it seems the trick is in the application - don't spread, press, pad and pat with the sponge and the result is a lovely, smooth finish. I've removed one lippie on account of a personal preference: this is a full coverage foundation which on my skin looks a little too heavy, so I won't be repurchasing. But as I said, that's a matter of preference.

This is a creme/powder foundation that comes in a fairly large compact with a sponge.
The packaging is really nice, with a lid that is mirrored on both sides, a clear heavy-duty plastic bottom and a white tray in which sits two equal sized trays, one with the foundation in and one with a decent quality sponge.
The foundation is medium to full coverage depending on how much you use, and goes on reasonably matte so you don't need a powder on top. It blends easily either with a foundation brush or the included sponge and lasted me all day, but needed topping up for the evening (no primer).
Be careful with the colours though, it comes in the same selection of colours as the Even Better Foundation but they aren't the same colours in the product - I have worn Alabaster in Clinique's foundations for many years but it was too dark in this one and I have Linen instead!
You don't need a lot and its easier to apply than my usual liquid foundations, especially as it doesn't need setting with powder. As the sponge seems to be good quality I can see this lasting quite a while and getting a fair bit of use when I am in a hurry. The case is good enough to survive being thrown in a bag, too.
I'd recommend this to a friend right now, but I only bought it today (the day it came out) so will have to see long term. If my opinion changes I'll come back and write some more!
