Great foundation! I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and I'm having a great experience with it so far!
I bought this foundation for $13 at Sally Beauty Supply in need for a replacement foundation, and decided to try Get Flawless. It turned out to be too dark at the time, so I had to wait a long while to actually start using it.
The color selection isn't huge; there are 5 or 6 shades of this foundation, if I'm not mistaken. They are all on the lighter side, which is actually good, since there isn't much of a gap from one shade to the next. It stays true to its color once it dries, and doesn't oxidize much. They are more yellow in undertone as well, which worked for me.
This is a liquid foundation, yet it is a bit thicker than most other foundations; meaning that it doesn't feel as runny as a lot of others do. Coverage wise, it is definitely a medium-full coverage, and does a good job of covering up imperfections; I usually don't need concealer with it! However, if there are any really prominent imperfections, then using it with concealer is best.
The finish is a bit dewy; it's pretty natural-looking, actually. However, in my experience, I still need powder, because the staying power isn't the best. It's also a bit difficult to get a perfectly even application because this is a thicker product, so the dewiness that it has doesn't really look flattering. Personally, I find that applying this product with fingers works better than with a brush. However, like aforementioned, the staying power is better with some powder.
This foundation claims to be 8-in-1; it would have been nice if they said what those 8 things were!
Also, there is a pretty good amount of product that you get, and the pump bottle is extremely convenient! The packaging itself is a concave, cylindrical bottle, and the bottle is clear frosted glass. The price is pretty good, as well; $13! Overall, I think it works for my skin type (combo-oily), and I would recommend it to anyone!
If your a very on the go person like me this foundation is your friend. I personally like it and i have combo/oily skin yet it hasn't broken me out and since it dries to a powder finish controls my oil decently. It can give light to medium coverage and doesn't feel heavy or cakey on your skin. Plus, the pump on the bottle is a nice bonus for dispensing just the right amount. On my days when I'm in a hurry and don't have time for applying all the prep stuff for my face before makeup then powdering .etc I just cleanse my face and put this on and I'm good to go. Now I'm not saying its the best thing ever, but it's definitely earned a spot in my makeup bag
This foundation is not the best. On my skin, it looks very cakey and wares off around my nose and mouth. This foundation is a very think texture with medium to full coverage. I really like how this foundation does have a pump! (That's harder to come by with drugstore foundations) overall, I would pick up a different foundation instead.
I have combination skin with hormonal breakouts. Usually I'm not terribly sensitive when it comes to skin products. At first I loved this foundation. It went on nicely, seemed to have full but not heavy coverage, and looked as though it stayed in place. If you plan on wearing this for a short period of time and being in a cool, dry environment, then I'd say buy it. Otherwise it is a waste of money. My sister and I both used it for a week and found that it wore off very quickly leaving us splotchy and oily. It caused some serous breakouts and excess oil and just looked absolutely terrible after a couple of hours. I'd never buy this again, no matter how cheap.
I just purchased this Saturday (7/27) and LOVE it so far! I love the pump bottle, and the finish is soft and doesn't look heavy. Best of all, it stays on all day (I set it with Palladio loose rice powder in translucent, but I'm sure your favorite powder will do). IMO this foundation gives ANY higher end foundation a run for the money! This was my first purchase from the Femme Couture line but I plan on trying other things.
I still really want to purchase the MAC Matchmaster foundation, but the local MAC counter is currently out of my shade. I was told it would be at least a week before they got more in. I do still have some my Boots No 7 Beautifully Matte, but it is too light for my skin tone. So I decided to see if I could find a drugstore foundation to hold me over until my next payday. After trying a couple of major duds (Maybelline Fit Me Foundation and LOreal Infallable Never Fail Makeup) I decided to give this foundation a try. I have wanted to try this foundation for a while now. I purchased it at a Sallys Beauty store for $10.99 in the shade medium. I originally wanted to purchase this in Light/Medium. I did not realize until after I bought it, that I had gotten Medium. But it all worked out. The Light/Medium would have been too light because the Medium shade is a perfect match for my skin.
This foundation claims to have a primer already in it, so I decided to apply this morning without putting on the Milk of Magnesia first. That turned out to be a mistake. As usual, it started to break up and fade away after about 3 hours. If you do not have only skin, you might be able to get away with not using a separate primer. I am not upset because that is pretty much what I expected to happen. If you do not have oily skin, maybe you could get away with not using a separate primer. But if you have oily skin, I think you will definitely still need to put a primer on underneath.
When I first tested this foundation on my chest, it looked slightly orange. But once it dried, it looked natural.
One minor complaint is that this foundation comes in a frosted bottle. This makes it somewhat difficult to see the color of the makeup inside. For example, in the store, the Light/Medium and the Medium look pretty much the same. Some people might not like the somewhat limited color selection, but I love it. There are only 5 or 6 shades to choose from. No true beige, natural beige, buff beige etc. here.
When I first squirted this foundation, I thought it would be very thick and heavy. But it is not at all. It is actually very light and creamy. It is very easy to spread and blend. The coverage is very sheer, but it is definitely buildable. I applied two layers and was very happy with how it turned out. It covered everything I wanted to cover and looked completely natural. It looks like your skin only better. This makeup dries really fast, which I actually like. You do not have to moneky around waiting for it to dry. Even though, it claims to dry to a powdery finish, I still used a light dusting of my loose powder. I thought it might end up looking cakey, but it did not at all.
As I said earlier, I am still intending to purchase the MAC Matchmaster. But if I am ever in a pinch or if I cannnot afford the Matchmaster, I would definitely repurchase this foundation. I have no major complaints. The Matchmaster is definitely my HG foundation. But I think this is my HG drugstore foundation. If you are frustrated with drugstore foundations, do yourself a favor and give this one a try. I promise you will not be sorry.
EDIT: The staying power of this makeup leaves a lot to be desired. This morning, I applied it around 7:15 am. I then went to work. When I checked it again during my break (around 10:30) I coud already see large patches where it had worn away and the redness was coming through. By the time I take this off before bed, there usually is only a little to remove. I will continue to use this only until I am able to purchase the MAC Matchmaster. A couple of other things. This foundation has a really weird shimmer to it. I think it's from the makeup mixing with the oily on my face. Someone else on the Sally website mentioned the same thing, so I'm not the only one who has experienced this. Also, this foundation tranfers something awful. It rubs off my clothes, the phone and just touching your face. My MAC Matchmster finally arrived yesterday, so I can quit using this. I will not be repurchasing. I don't recommend this to anyone with very oily skin. But I think it might be great for someone with dryer skin.
A multi-tasking foundation with 8 great benefits that create flawless looking skin in one easy step. This is a very blendable formula that color corrects, moisturizes, is a primer, concealer, foundation, and dries to a beautiful powder finish while it helps smooth fine lines AND large pores... And all while being 97% oil free.
Shade: I purchased this in the lightest shade that they offer, the color is called 'Fair.' The color is rather warm and definitely has a peachy tone to it. It does an alright job at blending into my NW15 skin, although I do have to take this all the way down my neck to make sure it's perfectly blended. I didnt mind doing this, but others may.
Packaging: It is glass, a very heavy frosted glass bottle that you get. Along with a pump to dispense the product from (win!). There are some issues with the pump though, I'm not sure if the foundation is just thick, but the pump seems to clog then breaks. Perhaps it was just a fluke, but I wanted to make note of that.
Texture: It is a very creamy foundation, that dries quickly. I also noticed that when applied with the fingers there are these little reflects that sit on the skin.
Coverage: I'd say medium to full coverage. You can build on this I believe. First day of using this it looked much more fuller coverage because I applied more, second day, less worked much better and the coverage was very good.
Blending: It blends nicely, although I'd say work quick! It seems to set quickly. Not to mention the directions suggest to use either your fingers (I've done this) or a sponge. I don't use sponges, and the fingers, I don't feel the product applies and blends evenly. Not to mention leaves these little flecks that sit on the skin (as you can see in the blended swatch).
Wear Time: I've gone from 8:30am to 12am with only a difference of the T zone, everything else stays pretty much in place. It does transfer though! But when it does, it isn't noticeable and I've put it through the worst possible trial a foundation could go under. Being sick. I've been sneezing my nose off, tissues always on hand. So this foundation does wear off nicely and isn't obvious.
Now lets see about those claims...
1. Primer 2. Foundation 3. Concealer 4. Powder 5. Moisturizer 6. Line Smoother 7. Color Corrector 8. Helps control oil: The claims were a lot, but the say its an 8 in 1, so here is what i found-
Claim 1. Primer- Is it a primer? It gives a very smooth finish, so I would say that it has the benefits of a primer, however I still ALWAYS apply primer because I use more than just foundation on my face;
Claim 2. Foundation: Yes, it's a foundation, I think that's rather obvious. Is it like other foundations? Possibly. I liked that this one was rather creamy and didnt dry into a powder, so those of us with dry skin can use it and not look ridiculous;
Claim 3. Concealer: While the redness from a blemish and a tad uneven tone seems to be under control, this doesn't do the job at covering up EVERYTHING. I still need to use concealer for blemishes and some uneven skin;
Claim 4. Powder: I think it may have a SEMI powder texture once dried, but it doesn't last. I don't really know where this benefit comes in, because I still have to apply a setting powder of top of this;
Claim 5. Moisturizer: No, just no. While it doesn't zap the moisture from your skin, I don't believe it replenishes it either.
Claim 6 Line Smoother I can't really say if this is a bust or not, this foundation does hide things well when it comes to photography though.
Claim 7 Color Corrector I think this is true, my skin looked far more even when wearing this.
Claim 8 Helps Control Oil Maybe for the first 3 to 4 hours, but after that I felt my T zone begin to get oily. You definitely need to set this foundation (especially the T zone) with a translucent powder.
Price: I purchased mine for $7.99, in store price is $10.99, if you belong to Sally's Beauty Club then the price is $9.39
Availability: Sally Beauty (online or in store)
Overall Verdict: Although I don't believe it is an 8 in 1 Foundation, I do love it, and was disheartened when the pump broke on the first one. It photographs beautifully I'd have to say. It gives my Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation a run for it's money though.
I purchased the Femme Couture 8-1 foundation in Light at Sallys. 1 oz & $9.+(with disc. card). I was using Covergirl Clean Makeup liquid and at Walmart only $6.fr 1 oz. But I really like the Femme Couture. Coverage over freckles and ruddiness is great& does give my skin a nice even tone. I use a Aveno 30spf moisturizer underneath. It's been really muggy today but my foundation is still perfect. I should have waited a week to review I suppose, but I really think this will be the 365 day a year foundation. 10/30/13 The color looks good when first applying. Later the color looks off and it gets very chalky. I don't use this anymore.
Absolutely love this foundation! It makes my pale, dry skin look flawless. I even have acne scarring and this stuff smooths them out wonderfully. I don't know what it is about the formula but it makes my face looks bright, young, vibrant and fresh. It's more of a matte finish which I really like too. The coverage is medium I would say but very buildable. I like putting on a few coats, it's never clumpy or cakey, just smooth and soft looking. The jar is glass with a nice pump which is both sanitary and convenient for travel.
I would definitely recommend this foundation, it's at Sally's and relatively inexpensive.
