- all natural
- nice packaging
- it's more like a tinted moisturizer than a cc cream since its REALLY sheer
- bit overpriced for my taste
- too dewy for me (like an oil slick.. yuck)
Disappointed. I really wanted to like this since I'm really into natural products.
JUICE Your Beauty Regimen! Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream. Your skin: only better! Hur-RAY!
After trying almost every protective product under the sun, an employee at Ulta suggested I try this CC cream for my sunscreen. I've been searching high and low for a healthy (non-toxic) cream that doesn't turn my face into mush. Hands down, this is it for me.
First, I want to address the comments made by those who left this cream due to its lack of coverage. I agree but I don't see that as a problem. When I want the added coverage of a foundation I simply add one!
On that note, I do think that Juice would have been better served by calling this what it is: a (great) sunscreen. There is an old saying that goes: you can't be anything if you want to be everything and this applies to the Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream.
I have been using this all summer and while I have a typically oily T-zone this has really helped to keep the oil to a minimum. It has a slightly chalky texture so I often prime my skin first with Reviva Labs Makeup Primer, another great product. Either way, I LOVE this (*healthy) sunscreen and strongly recommend it.
*To see just how healthy, check out the Environmental Working Group rating:
I'm not expecting miracles: after all, it is a one-color-fits-all CC cream. But it didn't do anything for my skin: zero color, zero coverage, zero smoothing. It seemed like I didn't do anything more than put on an organic and horribly-scented lotion with some sunblock in it.
I didn't buy this--this was a Birchbox sample. So at least I didn't lose any money.
I really like this product. It's my go to on days where I don't feel like wearing a full face but want a little something on my skin. the smell is exactly like grass which I love. I love the whole juice beauty line and since using it have lost all dullness and have a radiant glow the this cc cream enhances. I will say it takes such a very small amount whoch may be why some users aren't loving it. also it is designed to be warmed up inbetween the fingers by rubbing it before application for best results
I received a small sample of this product in my Birchbox. I LOVE it! My skin is SUPER dry - this is important because 10 years ago I would have found this stuff way too greasy. The previous reviewers are correct in that it sits on top of your skin and does not provide a lot of coverage. But to be fair, the packaging states that it " evens skin tone and texture" (it does), "creates a radiant, glowing complexion" (it does), "balances skin tone" (it does), and has "mineral tinted coverage" (it does). Nowhere does it say that it's going to conceal anything - too bad because I have some serious sun spots! I loved how my skin stayed moist (dare I say radiant and glowing? Yes!) And while I added some concealer, my skin tone was lightly evened out - I hate a heavy, make-upy look. I have very fair skin and used the Natural Glow shade.
I was looking around ulta for a bb or cc cream to experiment with when i found this.. i really like using natural products and I don't use anything with parabens in it. I thought the packaging was nice but as soon as i opened it up i noticed its weird smell. I can't even describe it but personally I do not like it.
And this stuff is just so heavy and oily- it doesn't soak in, and left me with an oily, greasy, orangey look. Did I mention that there is absolutely no coverage?
After seeing some negative reviews for this product, I almost didn't try the sample I had which would have been a mistake. I have extremely cloggable + dry skin and over the last year, it has developed an issue with the all the Clinique products I've been using almost exclusively (could be a change my chemistry or their chemistry). I gave the sample a go for a week and here is what I conclude:
1. Does not cause me to break out. I even left it on overnight and it was still fine.
2. You should use a tiny pea amount, preferably on top of a good day moisturizer and then you'll get a nice, "glowy" finish.
3. You can actually build a little bit of coverage by carefully dabbing a small amount over the problem zone. Blends well and looks natural.
I will be buying a full size tube of this stuff.
I still use the Clinique Supermoisture Makeup but now only for spot coverage when this CC Cream is not enough. This helps me minimize any flare-ups caused by the Clinique foundation since I don't have to use it all-over. Both products blend well on the skin together, just in case anyone wants to try that.
Tried a sample of this... Like other reviewers, I noticed it had little to no coverage. Dewy, yes. Interesting peppery fragrance. Not for me.
I've been hesitating about reviewing this because some days I love it, and others days it doesn't work so well for me. I really wish MUA had a "maybe" button instead of just "yes" or "no" WRT repurchasing.
Coverage: As others have stated, this gives EXTREMELY minimal coverage. It might make your skin look a little more uniform, but it's not going to cover anything except perhaps a little bit of redness. I suppose this is either a pro or con, depending on what you're looking for.
Formula: I too have noticed what others have complained about, which is the product sitting on top of the skin. This happened to me too, but I think I was just using too much. If I use less of it it actually absorbs quite quickly into my skin and leaves it looking very natural (like I have nothing on). It provides a decent amount of moisture, but certainly not enough for very dry skin, or for cold winter days.
My main concern is that I bought this product for two reasons: moisture and SUN PROTECTION. I know it's rated highly and has good, stable ingredients (zinc oxide). However, due to the need to apply it sparingly (or risk having it sit on top of your face) I feel like I'm not getting enough sun protection. Every article about sunscreen says you have to use a LOT to get proper protection, and you just can't use a lot of this stuff without it feeling heavy.
So, for ordinary days when I'm not going to be in direct sun, I'll use this. But not sure if I'll repurchase.
I got a sample size of this in my Birchbox, and was super excited about it because I prefer natural products. I was really disappointed. Yes, it's really moisturizing, and I have dry skin, but it's SO heavy and just sits on the skin like a layer of fat, instead of soaking in and making my face look fresh and dewy. I like light coverage, but this stuff has none at all. ZERO. So sad.
