These lipsticks were absolutely horrible! The colors look beatiful in the package, but are almost nonexistent when you actually try to wear them. Serious overkill on the peppermint oil-there's so much in these lipsticks that it actually burned my lips. Fortunately, the lipsticks I tried were only samples and I received them in a swap. I definitely wouldn't repurchase any of them. Into the garbage they go!

I found these lipsticks to be highly unpleasant. I received a package of sample sized sticks in a swap (perhaps they were old?) and found them to be utterly dry, and not very pigmented unless I "heated" them up a bit beforehand. Not the most pleasant lip experience. I can tell that a lot of peppermint oil was used in their production.

This is the only thing from the sample kit that I don't wash off immediately after applying a whole face of makeup. I have only tried persimmon and sorbet but I really like them so far. Persimmon is my favorite, it is closest to nude, my favorite lipstick shade. This isn't as dry as regular lipstick, IMHO. It feels more like a balm, but it doesn't seem to last long. I would repurchase.

These have been renamed since I bought it. I am currently using a sample of Honesty. This was the color I was most drawn to. It is a medium red with just enough brown in it so that it isn't overdone. Somehow, it looks a lot warmer when applied though, which is not a bad thing at all for my light olive skin. I love this color and will gladly get it again. I deducted a point for the dryness of this lipstick, but mixed with a little lipbalm, it solves the problem nicely. I will be looking at other colors in the future.

Warning: Only for the "re-application" lovers. It has that feeling that you need to apply it every so oftern. It feels like gloss but it has more staying power than the colored slim gloss sticks.

Very dry, too expensive and instead of the pink I was expecting, it was mauve.

I bought the little sample pack that has all the lipstick colors... imagine my surprise when NONE of them looked good on me! Do people really wear this many oranges and mutant purples? Plus they were all so cakey and dry. Sorry Burt... I'll be sticking to the lip gloss!

According to Burt's Bees, The "Wings of Love" lipsticks have been discontinued as of January 2004 and replaced with 6 new colors:
Sorbet - A warm and delicate coral spring pink.
Persimmon - A warm, sunny ripe peach.
Latte - A creamy nude whisper of coffee.
Fig - A succulent, intense red earth brown.
Eggplant - A mysterious sophisticated deep mauve purple.
Pomegranate - A juicy, inviting deep rose fuchsia.
Mulberry - A rich and luscious bright terracotta red.
From a Burt's Bees rep:
"These are all approximations of our former shades matched with our new hues.
Sorbet is sort of a brighter version of Grace.
Persimmon is sort of a darker version of Grace.
Latte is sort of a lighter version of Strength.
Fig is the exact same shade as Honesty.
Mulberry is sort of a darker version of Honesty.
Eggplant is sort of a lighter version of Spontaneity.
Pomegranate is fairly close to Play."

I have the sample package and they don't go on right, so I'm not sure how the regular do...

I LOVE this lipstick!! So natural, pretty, and the minty smell is wonderful! I have it in adventure and I love it already, got it as a christmas present from a friend, but I don't know if I would personally spend that much money on a lipstick...however, I'm tempted. ^_^

I can only comment on the quality of the product, and not the price or packaging as I received this as a sample in a swap. Of the lipsticks I've ever tried, this goes on the softest. The tradeoff: the color does not last very long. But to end on a good note, it does not dry out your lips like other lip products can. I tried the color, "Spontaneity," a deep wine-purple color. This product also contains a tiny bit of peppermint oil, which might irritate your lips, but it didn't bother mine...

The Wings of Love lipsticks have a really lovely, creamy formula that keeps my lips from drying out. The colour lasts all day, in my experience, and I've discovered one of my favorite lipsticks in the line - Fig (formerly Honesty). It's a neutral, rosy-brown that's not too dark nor too light. It adds a splash of colour to my face and goes well with everything. The minty fresh scent is fantastic, too! I can't add much more to the positive reviews below, so I'll just say that this is something I'll definitely repurchase (unless it's really been discontinued)!

I bought the sample package, so there's a possibility the full size product might be different. I hated the samples all except for the mint flavor. That was nice, which is why I am giving this a 2 instead of a 1. But the texture of the lipstick was very waxy and hard and drying, there wasn't much pigment, and all the colors except Honesty were awful. Who wants beige or orange lips? Blah.

UPDATE: Just to let you ladies know, the color Honesty has been renamed to Fig. Heard this straight from Burt's Bees themselves!

i bought the sampler pack, too and the only shade i liked was Honesty. but i went out and got a tube of it, it's one of my fave shades. it tingles like the beeswax lip balm and i like the feel and the scent. i have a couple of friends who like it too, but only this color.

I bought the sampler pack and fell in love with the colors. They are more for warmer complexions like mine and may not work for the cool ladies. My fave colors are Adventure and Honesty. Went to Whole Foods this weekend and tried to buy a tube of Honesty and the lady at the counter said the line has been discontinued!?! They aren't on drugstore.com any more, either. :-( Will have to wait and see if they come out with something new to take their place for Spring.

i got a sampler package, and i'm glad i didn't pay money for the full sizes. the colors, some are okay and some are completely unwearable for me, many of these samples will go. i love the minty smell, and they did last pretty well, applied with a lip brush anyway. but they are so dry! they are dry in application putting them on and they really feel and look dry on the lips. my lips were very dry when i removed this stuff, so i needed to majorly remoisturize them. i probably won't buy this full sized product at all. there are better l/s for less money.

Most of the colors in this line are too warm for me, and there are only 3 shades I can use: Honesty, a browny-mauve cream that's just a little darker than my natural lip color; Willingness, a shimmery rose; and Adventure, a light brick red cream which works well on me as a stain. The texture of these lipsticks is a bit thick and they go on somewhat dry, but they last a long time on me and don't feather at all. I wish they'd rework the tubes they came in, though, as I have to hold the little push-up button on mine in order to get the lipstick to stay up long enough to apply it. I like the minty taste and scent, and I like that this lipstick won't dry out my lips. Nice product.

I also bought the sampler kit and hated every single color. The texture/smell/staying power was just average, matte and a little drying like everyone else has said. The only color that looked REMOTELY reasonable on me was Honesty. Everything else was bleccchhhhhh!!!!

Beautiful colors! moisturizing formula, and they wear well, these have became my hg of lipsticks. The quality combined with the all natural formula and the very wearable colors make them perfect for me. Love the glosses too.
