The lotion is of a thicker consistency, might as well be called a cream. The pump dispenses a generous amount. I am oily/combination but very dehydrated. My skin gets this tight/pulling dry feel throughout the day while the oil production increases. No moisturizer was able to last me through the day without making my skin feel tight and dry and super greasy. This is the first moisturizer to keep my skin feeling pretty hydrated without the pulling feel. It's a miracle to me.
Because it is thick and I am oily, I apply a small amount (about half a pump) then I let it absorb for about 15 minutes, and then I just apply a little bit more to the areas that need it most (forehead, cheeks and neck/jaw line for me). So far so good. I do get oily throughout the day, so I do blot, but that's okay as long as the feeling of dryness is not there!
The fragrance of the lotion is INTENSE. I use it both day and night. During the day it doesn't bother me at all, but at night it seems 10 times as intense. Beware if you have a sensitive nose.
Bottom line: I will continue using it to see how my skin will benefit (or not). So far I like the lotion because it does what it says! I am also curious to see how it will do in the humid summer days that are approaching.
I gave it 4 stars because of the strong smell, which might prevent a lot of people from using this otherwise great product.

In a word, my HG moisturizer. Period. I've tried tons of different products from cheap to expensive, and I concluded that a moisturizer may help your skin from drying out, but NOTHING literally "moisturizes" (adds hydration to) your skin. However, this is the only exception I've found so far. At first, it felt heavy and sticky. It does NOT smoothly "melt" into your skin. So, if you apply something right after this, this might rub off. But once it is absorbed, your skin actually felt "moisturized." I use this as a night cream too; I just put a LOT on my skin, and it is euphoria to see and feel my skin the next day. I've suffered extreme dryness and itchiness for over a year, and I finally found a huge "help". I've been using this for several days by now. Over time, I hope this will turn out to be the "solution" to my year old skin agony.

All year 'round, I have generally oily, occasionally acne-prone skin.... except for in the winter. Winter has my skin EXTREMELY dried out. My makeup cakes to my dry patches no matter what type of foundation I use (liquid, powder, expensive, inexpensive... I've tried them all). After having tried FIVE different so-called "intensive" moisturizers of different price points, I was frustrated & about to give up. I saw the reviews for this product & decided to give it a try. There were only two reviews, so I was hesitant but the reviews were glowing enough that I thought it was worth it. I found a coupon on coupons.com for $3 off of this product & ran to Ulta. Let me tell you... this product cost me $14 with the coupon, which to me is "middle of the road." Totally worth it. After only one use, my dryness was better. After two uses, my skin is HEALED. It's soft & smooth & my makeup no longer cakes to it. No more lizard lady. I am a believer. One thing I will add is that for me, I can tell that this product would cause seriously oily skin in the warmer months... & potential acne. It is VERY thick & doesn't just soak right into your skin. When I first put it on, I noticed that my skin felt really sticky & gross. After about 3 minutes that feeling went away and the product absorbed, leaving a super soft foundation for my makeup. AMAZING! continued >>

OMG...this product has been a godsend to my uber pale, sensitive, combination skin that gets extremely dry in the winter. I started with the sample jar, just like the prior reviewer, and then purchased the full size product. The full size comes in a pump bottle, not a jar, and its great packaging. My skin was so dry, very itchy cheeks and it was looking really, really dull. After a week of using this product, my skin was glowing (and getting major compliments!! LOL), no longer itchy, felt incredibly smooth and supple. Its definitely a cream, even though it says "lotion", and is definitely heavier than most day lotions. However, as the prior reviewer stated, it soaks in very quickly and didn't cause me any breakouts. I'd be careful if you tend towards oily skin though, as this is probably too much moisture for oilier skins.

I bought this in a sample jar for 2 bucks. Ive never actually considered buying any of their full size products, even though ive been curious, because im cheap. Haha.
So when i found this little jar at rite aid i was ecstatic. When i first felt it i reread the label thinking it must be body lotion. But no, it is thicker moisterizer for the face. Winter kills my pale skin.. dull, dry, lackluster, occasional breakouts. I was concerned that it would make me break out because of the immediate greasiness, but a few minutes later it had completely absorbed leaving my face soft and supple. It also makes my makeup go on that much smoother.
This is one product that does what it claims. Yes, it costs more than i like to spend but you use so little that the full size would probably last a year. Even the little jar has lasted weeks. The smell is mild and clean. Let it soak in before you rate it worthy or not. And rub any excess into knuckles... incredible.
