I received a large sample of this primer, and I am glad that I did not purchase it. I do regularly use primers and have tried quite a few to date. I would not recommend this one. The texture was a bit greasy feeling upon application and felt heavier on my skin than I like. I do have sensitive skin, and this primer had a slight sting to it for 1-2 seconds. My makeup applied well, as usual, which is nice, but I achieve this with some other primers also. i felt like this primer highlighted any flakies that I had and maybe caused more flakies throughout the day in some spots.
It did not help my makeup stay truer or longer on my skin. By about early afternoon, my foundation would take on a more orangey, darker tone, which it never does on its own (even without primer). This is a massive drawback for me and very surprising. Why would anyone spend on this primer just to ruin a very high quality foundation that wears very well normally? I did try this with numerous foundations (Dior Diorskin Forever, Etude House BB Magic Creme, iFiona Moist CC Cream, Rimmel Stay Matte) and it reacted the same way with each.
Apart from this, I did not like the fake slightly citrus-chemical scent of it (& I do like citrus scents). The scent also has some sort of "off" quality to it. I did not find that it "refined" my pores, it actually may have caused me more blemishes.
I will return to my favourite primer, Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Oil Free SPF 15. continued >>
