These new lipsticks from Milani are stellar...matte, satin, semi-sheer...you name it, Milani has it. The pigment is awesome. I love the reds, pinks, browns, and nudes. I often find these on sale at CVS so they're a real bargain. Seriously, if you did a blind test, Milani would be like applying a $40 lipstick. It's that good!
I bought these in the shades Ruby Valentine (fall/winter red) and Cherry Crave (bright spring/summer red). They are both VERY pigmented and long lasting. I applied Cherry Crave at 3pm (w/ a lip liner and gloss over it) and at 7pm it looks like I just applied it, wow! These aren't even their matte shades, so I'm pretty impressed. Because the colors I bought are so bright, I have no idea how often I'll wear them. I think I'll buy a nude shade for everyday wear. I wouldn't call these moisturizing (like Revlon Lip Butters) but they feel good on your lips and aren't drying in any way. For about $6 at CVS, they're better than many other lipstick brands I've tried. I should mention these have a fragrance to them that I like very much. Some people don't like that but I much prefer that to the "natural" chemical smell of lipsticks that aren't fragranced.
I have this in Best Red and Plumrose. They both glide on the lips very easily and are extremely pigmented. I love both of the colors, and even though Best Red is a matte, it's not too dry at all. They're both really comfortable, and the smell is incredible, like watermelon. Lasting power is good for a lipstick that doesn't claim to be long-wearing. The packaging is also really beautiful to me. Best Red is the perfect blue-based red for my skin tone, and is very classic-looking, not too bright. Plumrose is a little dark for me to wear as an everyday lip color, but it's a gorgeous dark pink, almost with a reddish tone on me.

I seriously love all of these lipsticks so much. My lips get chapped very easily, so most lipsticks just make that problem even worse. Not these though. I own 4 of these. I have the vinyl, matte, and cream finishes and they're all so comfortable to wear and don't dry my lips out at all. If I could only have one brand of lipstick, it would be these ones. I haven't even touched my mac lipstick since I got these.

I have tried these in their vinyl, cream, and matte formulas. While I don't think they're very moisturizing, the vinyl formula is my favorite because it goes on smoother and doesn't feel as dry. Even the cream shades can feel dry after awhile. I like the shade range, lasting power, and the bright shades the most, but I've also noticed these break easily. I have a few that have never been dropped and they lean/scrape the side of the tube. I did drop a matte lipstick on the carpet and it broke. They smell like baby dolls and a lipstick for little girls, but it's kind of an addictive scent. After awhile you get used to it. My favorite shades are Flamingo Pose, Hot Pink Rage, Fruit Punch, and Flirty Fuchsia.
There are reasons I don't bother buying MAC lipsticks any more.
NYX Black Label and these new Milani Color Statement lipsticks are 2 of them.
I ordered three of these off Cherry Culture sight unseen (NYX and Milani are not available as retail here in NZ, MAC is $40+ and even Revlon or L'Oreal are $22+ for lipsticks, so less than $6US a pop is more than affordable :-) and I am very, very impressed.
The tubes are sleek and elegant, plain gold with a slightly darker, etched Milani logo down one side of the cap. There is a coloured coded plastic lucite tab on one end, along with the name and lipstick number in decent sized print. Nothing cheap or tacky looking about these babies!
The formula is quite thin but still lush to apply, not what I'd call creamy but they do have a little slip to them. Best impact and lasting power when applied directly onto clean, dry lips (no balm first) and I do not find them drying in the slightest, which was a nice surprise. They do smell like artificial watermelon lollies when first applied but it fades quickly and I don't mind it so much. Lasting power is great, plenty of pigment left after a coffee though somewhat faded after lunch, so I usually just slick some clear balm over and it still looks mighty fine, with a good stain of colour left. Which is fairly remarkable, given that these are not specifically touted as super long lasting (cough, L'Oreal Infallible, cough)... Not a hint of feathering or bleeding either, though I don't tend to have much issue with that anyway.
I have three colours so far (with more on the To Get List!), Plumrose is a lovely, wearable, medium, plummy pink cream, would suit both warm and cool tones.
Teddy Bare is a soft brown (with a hint of pink) beige, not too peachy or orange. Makes a great nude lip for me.
Uptown Mauve is more magenta that mauve, a vivid, blue based cream (easily blotted to matte), almost neon but not quite, a lovely deep, shocking purpley pink.
So... dirt cheap, super duper pigmented, nice to use, long lasting, not drying and classy looking packaging. Ticks ALL the boxes for me!
EDIT: Ordered Rose Amour: cool, Barbie pink cream, (not a great colour for me unfortunately, but thems the breaks), Fruit Punch: a yummy medium coral pink, Nude Cream: a whisper soft pale pinky beige and Naturally Chic: a lovely and very flattering russet based natural.

Selected shades: flamingo pose (bright red coral), fruit punch (bright coral pink), rose amour (fuchsia pink), rose hip (fuchsia)
Pros
- pigmented
- long wearing
- creamy
Cons
- drying
- scent
Comments: First, the scent is overwhelming. It smells like watermelon jolly ranchers. Fortunately, it fades upon application. These are highly pigmented and wear well, but drying on the lips. My favorite is Flamingo Pose.
Will repurchase.

I have this in Best Red (matte) and Flirty Fuchsia (vinyl) and I have to say, I'm completely in love. They both wear very comfortably on the lips and I've not had any issues with bleeding or feathering on either one (which is amazing, seeing as they are both very creamy). They feel light and moisturizing, even without a layer of balm underneath.
Scent-wise, it does have a sweet watermelon candy smell, but it fades quickly and isn't overpowering at the onset like Milani's old lipstick formula (which was revolting, if you ask me).
The wear time is great. Best Red stays gorgeous for hours, even through eating, and leaves a lovely stain behind. I sometimes use an auburn lip liner underneath to darken it and give it a more warm hue, and it blends perfectly with the liner. I've only been wearing Flirty Fuchsia for about an hour, but there's not been any fading.
I know the packaging attracts fingerprints, but I don't really care. Some of the highest-end lipsticks have chrome-ish packaging and that doesn't really seem to be holding anyone back. I rather enjoy this packaging. It's classy and classic. Simple and elegant. I like that the color is displayed clearly on the bottom of the tube, and it is shockingly true to the color of the bullet itself. There's no sticker to wear off and leave a grimy blob on the bottom of the tube. And there is no guesswork. Color me happy!
I'm planning on heading out tonight to grab a couple liners and, if I can find Red Label and Black Cherry, I'll grab those as well. For $5 and change, you can't go wrong, especially since these beat the daylights out of some of their extremely high-end counterparts.
I'm also sending a few of these to my friend in Canada because she's just about as makeup obsessed as I am, and I can't wait to spread the love. Seriously, if you have friends who love cosmetics, these really are a perfect gift because for the price of one tube of MAC, you can buy three of these beauties and gift till your heart's content!
EDIT 3/4/13: I now own seven of these lipsticks. Seven. I picked up Red Label and Ruby Valentine for some extra variety in the reds. Then I nabbed Rose Hip and Black Cherry (EXACT dupe for MAC Media, only better texture), and Nude Creme, which I've not yet used. I also have four of the lip liners, which are top notch. This line really is a winner. I hope they never ever EVER discontinue it or pull it from stores because that would break my heart.

For reference I'm NC30-ish with olive undertones, dark hair, and combo/dry skin
Milani color statement lipsticks are a new addition to the Milani line as of Jan/Feb 2013. Color statement seems to be replacing the Color perfect line so if you have favorites form that line grab em while you can (I've spotted the line for 75% off at the time of this review).
The Color statement line has a range of nudes, reds, pinks, a few vampy shades, and a few super brights. Lipsticks come housed in shiny gold tube.
Scent is exactly like watermelon lipsmackers with a hint of plastic-y my little pony. If scents bother you, no worries, its relatively subtle and fades fast. The formula is creamy but still on the dry side, though no tugging on lips or chapped/dryness. Worn full on, these are definitely full coverage with one swipe. But even better... these make an amazing lip stain. I've been dabbing on the color and it melts in and stains perfectly.
