After hearing so many raving reviews about this product, I finally got the chance to visit Target in the states (I live in Canada) and picked up Pink Umbrellas. I love love love the Revlon Just Kissable balm stains, so I thought this would be perfect for me. I do really like the colour- it's this beautiful rosy pink that's perfect for spring/summer, and it's not drying at all. It's moisturizing and the colour has decent staying power for something that is $2. HOWEVER, I would not repurchase this again because of the taste and smell. It just tastes really... chemically and waxy, it leaves a really bad taste on my tongue, and for that sole reason, I would not repurchase. The Revlon balm stains are nice and slightly minty, and do not leave a bad aftertaste in my mouth, so I will stick to those for the time being.

When I first bought it, i thought it would have more color to it. I was very disappointed until I realized it is a gloss. It is very nice and goes on easily. I have to buy more colors!
When ELF started coming out with the big crayon products I bought them in most colors. Unfortunately the shadow sticks are a total fail, but I love love love these gloss sticks! They are creamy and lightly pigmented and remind me in texture and payoff of the Revlon lip butters. Except for $1. And in a super fun twist up crayon! I have them in:
Sangria starters, which is a beautiful dark mauvey raspberry color that is great day or night, great color payoff.
Tiki torches, which is a gorgeous gold sparkle orange color. It's a dead on dupe for Clinique's Ambrosia.
Summer nights, which a sparkley your lips but better color. More sheer than the rest, but good for low key days.
In the nude, which is a very pigmented true nude. I LOVE this shade. It is the most pigmented of the bunch, but still sheer. So you can layer it until it's exactly the color you want/need for your skintone. No glitter.
Pink Umbrellas, a perfect spring pink without the glitter found in many of the rest.
And Movie Star, which is kind of the color you hope you'd get after eating a bunch of cherries. A beautiful sheer wash of cool toned red.
These are really fun and cheap. Highly recommend trying them on your next ELF order.

I recently purchased this in Sangria Starters. WOW! I love it! Great color - not too intense, almost like a stain but a bit more pigmented. It glides on smooth and is very creamy and moisturizing. I love the packaging. For a buck, I'd definitely repurchase.
I ran across these at Target and picked up several of them - In the Nude, Pink Umbrellas, Summer Nights, and Movie Star. At $2 each, these are an incredible bargain. They're definitely more of a tinted balm rather than a gloss. They are moisturizing, easy to apply, and have a nice sweet minty flavor. The colors are sheer & lightly pigmented (for most of them, you can apply with no mirror, which is a plus for me). In the Nude is a light, slightly pearly beige. Summer Nights is a sheer, glittery bronze. Pink Umbrellas is a pretty light rose pink. Movie Star is the most highly pigmented - a sheer red that's very wearable for day, but still red enough for a glam pinup lip. The finish on most of them is creamy or slightly shimmery, not glossy or sticky at all. Also, the packaging is slim enough to toss in your cosmetic bag. Overall I am *very* impressed with these, and will definitely repurchase! For $2 each you just can't lose. continued >>

picked up "pink umbrellas" at target for two bucks and it works like a dream. Really balmy and pigmented, it's a really nice peachy pink color. I regret not buying other colors! :(
Love this product. As you can tell I love E.L.F makeup. I got the color Summer Nights. And it give me the perfect nude color with a little shimmer.
Oh.My.Gosh. LOVE these!!! I picked these up at my local Target last week for two dollars. I was going out of town and had forgotten chapstick and lipsticks at home in my flurry to leave the house. I stopped at target on my way knowing I could pick these up, that they got good reviews, and that they would do double duty for color and a bit of moisturization. When I got to my car befor I left the parking lot, I opened them to try out. (For reference, I am a pale-skinned female whose lips are perpetually dry. I use balms and chapsticks way more than traditional lipsticks.)
COLORS: I picked up the colors "In the Nude" and "Pink Umbrella." I thought that both colors were great. Both are very pigmented for what they are. In the nude is a fantastic true nude. I was a bit afraid pink umbrella would be a tad on the bubble gum pink side but it has some rosy tones, so it is really a lovely pink color on the lips. I will be picking up the other two colors my target carries the first chance I get!
FORMULA: The formula is creamy, but not thick and waxy, but not too thin either. I really think they got this formula right. It's not a gloss, but more of a tinted balm with way more staying power than a regular tinted balm and leaning a bit toward the lipstick side of things. Also, I'd seen some of the other reviewers complain about the smell being like toothpaste. It has peppermint oil in it, so that may be why. I personally don't mind it at all. Also, the soy, jojoba, and vitamin E definitely add some moisturization for sure!
Basically, I can't say enough good things about these gloss sticks. I love them so very much. They may actually be HG for me. They are the perfect marriage of a gloss, a balm, a lipstick, and a stain. If I find the need to make an elf order soon, I'll probably order the rest of all the colors they have that I can't get at my local target. Oh yea, and did I mention that they're only TWO DOLLARS! and one of the best lips products I've ever used?? You should add at least one to your next elf order, or else run on over to target to pick one up. I really think you'll be very pleased.

I picked up two shades of this product, and I've been using them very often since then! I would definitely call this a tinted lip balm rather than a "gloss"--the formula is much more like the tinted balms I've tried than any gloss I know of. Speaking of the formula, these babies are absolutely lovely. I won't say they're "moisturizing," exactly, since they won't add moisture to dry bare lips...but they are incredibly good at sealing in moisture if you put them on top of a decent lip balm. And I ALWAYS have some kind of moisture on my lips--either Burt's Bees, raw shea butter, or lanolin--so that's not at all a problem for me! These are also really long-wearing--I tested it out for kicks one day, and it was four hours before either the pigment or the moisture faded from my lips. Pretty darn impressive in my book!
The colors I have are "Summer Nights," a lovely color that's hard to describe--I'd call it a bronzed pink or golden nude--and "Movie Star," a gorgeous red with a hint of pink that would look gorgeous on many different skin tones. Oh, and did I mention pigmentation on these? It's awesome. Movie Star in particular is definitely not your usual sheer coverage tinted balm--I'd say it's about 1/3 off the mark from being completely opaque, if that makes sense. It's truly beautiful.
Overall, I have to say that these are some of the nicest lip products I've run across in a long, long time--opacity is quite good, wear is impressively long, consistency is neither overly heavy nor thin-feeling, packaging is convenient and cute, and the price absolutely can't be beat ($2 at Target)! You're missing out if you haven't picked up one of these by now!

I was on the fence about trying these... I bought quite a few of the Revlon gloss sticks like these and wasn't completely impressed but I actually think that ELF ends up doing these better than some of the mid-range drugstore counterparts. For $2 the concept is exactly the same as all these twist up tinted balms/gloss sticks out there. So far I've tried In the Nude and Summer Nights. In the Nude has a slight spearmint smell, no discernible taste. Has a good amount of pigment... feels sort of like a light lipstick rather than a gloss. The nude looks a little yellowish in the tube but goes on surprisingly neutral. Pretty good amount of pigment, really cancels out my lips and gives them that beigy nude look. So far it hasn't mutated into any weird yellow or orange color.
Summer Nights... I was not expecting to be so taken by this shade, especially for $2 but it is a perfect MLLB w/o any mauve to speak of. Comes with gold shimmer which is rather refined for $2... very soft and delicate shimmer, no frostiness or chunkiness, it just makes lips sort of glow. Gorgeous gorgeous shade. Scent on this one is spearmint mixed with some waxiness. Texture is also waxier than In the Nude, but seems to be a little longer lasting because of it. This one is a must try IMO.
Pretty good product.. the colors are so nice on these 2 that I've tried so far, that I really want to try more.
Update: I have added Pink Umbrellas to my collection. It unfortunately smells a little medicine-y but the scent fades pretty quickly. I love this one as well... it is a great creamy clean pink without any frost, shimmer, or milkiness. Lots of pigment and feels pretty creamy on. I was surprised how long this one lasted on my lips.
