Heaven in a tube. Perfect for my very pale skin - I use Light. My skin looks completely flawless with this yet it doesn't look mask-like. And zero breakouts in 6 months of wearing. Plus it's cheap as chips, even with postage! Will cry if it ever gets discontinued!
I thought I was going to love this product after reading all the reviews, but sadly, it was just not meant to be. I have dry skin and this product just seemed to accentuate all the fine lines in my skin. :( But it does have good coverage. I guess it's just not meant for my skin texture. Whatever. BUT I absolutely LOVE Sleek. I have their face form and two eyeshadow palettes - recommended by Mr. Wayne Goss. Those are fantastic products.
I've been using this for a while now. Wrote a whole blog post raving about it. It's good coverage, doesn't settle into fine lines, doesn't break me out, moisturizes and doesn't make it seem like I'm wearing any makeup. It's a plus and a plus for me.
This foundation is wonderful, and it's actually a spot on dupe for Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation. It's full coverage, but can be sheered out to light medium, and provides a really luminous, dewy finish that just looks like skin, not caked on makeup. IMO it's even better than Laura's. The amount of product you get for the price is insane, too, almost two ounces, more than most foundations out there. I use this with a buffing brush and it looks wonderful with a beautyblender as well. This is a must have for everyone, especially who wants a dewy full coverage foundation with skin benefits as well. If you're oily you'll have to set this with powder, and this looks great with a silicone primer, too. My only concern is that because it's so thick, it can actually be rather difficult to blend, I have to take extra time and care to make sure this gets blended especially around my cheeks.
LOVE this BB Cream. My shade is Medium (I'm an NC50 in MAC SFF). It's fantastic, light coverage, more than your average BB Cream, but not as much coverage as a foundation. It evens out my complexion, doesn't break me out, it's just fabulous. I do use a primer underneath, and apply with a beauty blender. It settles into a semi dewy finish, so I set with a Ben Nye powder (NOT banana!). I plan to buy at least two backups the next time Sleek has a sale. I use this pretty much daily, alternating with the OCC Tint in Y5. My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that I wish it had a but more of a golden undertone. It is yellow-based but ever so slightly neutral if that makes any sense.
I wear MAC NW10, Sleek New Skin Revive in Oatmeal.
This is the only BB cream I own, but I love it. It's got the coverage of a foundation but my freckles still show through. Once it dries, the finish is almost powdery. I got this BB cream in Fair and it is a perfect match. I was really surprised it was fair enough to match my fair skin.
I usually try to wear this cream when I don't want to wear a full face of makeup. It's a nice middle ground, where my blemishes are minimized but my skin looks glowing. I set this cream with light dusting of sheer powder in my t-zone, and it lasts all day.
I'm not sure how well it heals blemishes, but it certainly doesn't break me out. It doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup, it just looks like my skin is moisturized.
Just a tip, applying this with a brush doesn't look very good. However, when I use my fingers, the finish is flawless. It fills in pores and leaves no lines. It blends very well as long as you use your fingers!
This stuff is awesome! I wore it tonight at work and it looked great! It has wonderful coverage for a BB cream and the color of the foundation itself was nice and blended into my skin well. I was really surprised by the level of coverage it gave. For me it leaned towards more of a full coverage foundation.....that was shocking. Most of my BB creams are fair to medium in the coverage area.
I bought my BB cream from the online site and just guessed at the color I should get. I am usually pale, but get a nice tan in the summer. I purchased Light and was thinking it would probably be too light, but it was just perfect. I was surprised. So just a warning that this BB cream isn't super pale. There is some warmth to it. I normally go for medium toned foundations, but clearly these are aimed towards warmer skin tones as the light is more of a medium color.
Color selection isn't great, but they had something that worked for me. Hopefully they will expand the color selection more so everyone can experience what a joy these are! :)
Update: My friend told me my skin was radiant today...I was wearing this BB cream! Yeah! Love it! Love it! :)
i am in love with this bb cream. Im a medium 803. I was so surprised how well it blended and matched my skin tone. It leaves my skin with a natural glow. Also i have very oily skin and holds up pretty well. My skin does get oily after a little while but it still looks ok. One thing i wished was better about it is that it was a bit easier to apply. You have to work a little more for it to spread out evenly. I recommend this to all black girls! Light, Brown, and Dark skin!
I got it in Fair. I am Linen/Alabaster, I wish it was lighter! I don't find the smell offensive like many other BBs. The coverage is nice and covers my imperfections. No need to powder, will stay all day (in my cooler climate that is). I'm going to pick up some Manic Panic Dreamtone to mix in! It's thick but the packaging is great in that you can easily squeeze only as much as you need (I am very much anti pump bottle). I blend down to my collarbones and powder my chest/neck when wearing this to help match. I apply with fingers or brush, sponge doesn't do so well.
Edit: So apparently, I AM one of those people sensitive to dimethicone. I noticed an increase in clogged pores (and I am meticulous with my regimen) after using this for six days. Also, the color is still a bit too flat. It's a neutral undertone. That didn't work so well with my red undertones. It made me look ... muddy. Also, it might not simply be the dimethicone. There are several ingredients in the product that register high on the comedogenicity scale.
This a VERY preliminary review based on the fact that I have reactive skin and still am not sure if this is going to cause problems for me.
I didn't see any reviews for the Dark shade so I thought I'd add mine. I am NW50 (probably closer to NW55 now that summer's arrived in Arizona and even with a good sunscreen, you're still going to get some sun.) I have quite a bit of red in my facial skin, yellow in the chest area.)
The only other BB cream to match my skintone is the one by Iman and that broke me out in 48 hours. (Too many siliciones and other cloggers).
The Sleek has a ton of benefits:
1. Great packaging. You can squeeze out just the right amount from the tip.
2. It IS full coverage for a BB cream. Now if you want MAC Studio Fix coverage, this is not it but I've tried about six BB creams and this is the only one that did exactly what it said: provides even coverage. It covers most of my acne marks with the exception of the newest spots.
3. It does NOT feel heavy. It blends in beautifully and definitely feels like nothing more than moisturizer.
4. Dark enough for my skin. Did I mention that's a plus??
5. Not silicone-heavy at all. It contains only dimethicone, I think. If you're sensitive to that ingredient, this won't work for you. Cyclopentasiloxane is my big trigger and this doesn't have it. All the others I've tried have that stupid ingredient.
Not silicone heavy: Wait, you say. You said that was a pro? It is for acne-prone skin but the lack of silicones also means you don't really get that dewy, luminous glow with this product. No problem. That's what bronzer's for!
Not yet available in the US: But that's not a problem because I ordered it online and had it in about 10 days. For less than $2 shipping. Cool.
Overall: If you always wished you could have the kind of skin where all you needed was a bit of BB cream and blush, this is your product. I love that it's so simple to apply that I can work out over my lunch break and still have time to simply apply this very quickly. I tried it with a brush but found I like using my fingers better.
