I have oily skin. I usually use the Simple Oil Balancing wipes but really wish the were a lottle more moist. So while they are my regular purchase they are not my HG. So I ventured out. I don't like fragrance in my face products. I don't mind the natural smells that the ingredients have but I hate perfumes, just to clarify. So, I lost my mind and had a really aweful experience with the neutrogena pink grapefruit wipes and needed a really gentle rebound product.
Now to the Burt's Bees wipes. First off, cudos for the packaging! Love the snap top. Secondly, they are completely perfume free and the natural smell of the product is so slight you don't notice it unless you take a big whiff. So that is a plus. Third they are really soft but don't tare apart while you use them. Forth, they really get the job done without drying my skin or leaving any kind of oily residue. Or any residue at all for that matter. I got mine at Targer on sale for $5.09 so they were only .10 cents more than my Simple wipes. Even at full price they are only $5.99 and you get 30 wipes.
So, while I haven't been using them long enough to say for sure, these are totally HG status. I am very impressed.
I really like these wipes, they're soft and gentle but sturdy and get the job done. They have a subtle scent that isn't overpowering and lovely. Will buy again!
I LOVE this product. I only need one to remove all my makeup, including my eye makeup. I even use them just to clean off my face in the morning. Very light but cleansing. Doesn't break me out, doesnt sting my skin like some other makeup removers do. Tried the olay fresh effects wipes and liked those, but found these to be even better.
$6 for 30 wipes is the going rate for most brands. Neutrogena is even more expensive and they don't even have good natural ingredients in their version. These are far better than most wipes and I have tried almost all of them. I like that these have a lid, they remove 99% of my makeup without being oily or leaving a film (mascara is stubborn), and they don't sting or burn my eyes at all. I have normal to dry skin and these did not dry my skin or make it feel tight/red. If someone dislikes these, it's probably due to a skin allergy. I was going to buy the Simple brand, but they're full of parabens. I found the reviews on the BB website more helpful and accurate with my experience.
I have to start off saying I love Burt's! I'm in love with natural care skin products so their line is a dream! I use the sensitive skin cleanser that I love which is why I brought these. I don't like them. They dry my face out and makes it sting a little. I used them to remove makeup. Instead now I use a EVOO/Water mixture that works wonders!
My skin: Mature, sensitive, surface dehydration/flaky, breakout prone, shiny t-zone (crazy skin)
I was looking for something oil based in an effort to ensure I am removing all of my foundation, etc. But I wanted it to be easy and inexpensive as well. And fragrance free.
These wipes are all of the above. They contain oil but are not at all oily feeling. I use the wipes, then follow with my Olay Sensitive foaming wash.
I have experienced no reaction to these, and my skin feels very clean.
I do not use these to remove my eye makeup, so I cannot tell you if they sting the eyes.
Nice soft pop-up package & reasonably priced at $5.99 for 30.
The more i use these the more i dislike them. I have somewhat sensitive skin, usually its ok with most wipes but these made my face sting & left a weird film on my skin. Their also rather expensive, $6 for only 30 wipes. Will not repurchase.
Added: I also think these gave me pimples! I rarely have any break outs but right now im staring at huge pimples on my forehead, a place that i never breakout. :(
