I'd been wanting to try this lip gloss for a while and after the stars aligned and I was given a $30 gift card for Macy's, I decided to pop in and try it.

The container comes with 0.5 ounces of product, which is pretty good (about 3.33 times the amount in a tube of Chapstick). It's a standard squeeze tip with a silver cap. The packaging is okay, but nothing to absolutely rave about.

The lip gloss itself is smooth and pretty moisturizing. It's very thick, but not sticky; in fact, you can easily apply two or three layers of this without it starting to get tacky.

It doesn't really have a scent or flavor to it, and it doesn't have much of a color, either. It's a very, very faint tint of a fresh, coral pink color. However, it's just enough color to bring the attention back to your lips. The color looks very orange in the store, but unless you're under bright florescent lighting. it's pink.

The lip gloss wears for about five hours, but the gloss finish wears off in about three and you're left with a really sheeny, satiny look on your lips that you may or may not find desirable.

As far as the formula and coloring goes, this is great. It's my holy grail lip gloss, and I actually saved the other half of my gift card so I knew that I could absolutely purchase another tube of this when I ran out.

There are, however, some flaws.

For starters, the lip gloss separates. It doesn't blatantly squirt out that clearish liquid as some glosses do, but it does start separating and putting out both gloss as whatever the other stuff is. I've found that you can prevent this by kneading the tube (with the cap on, of course) before opening and storing it in alternating positions when you're done (i.e. on it's side, on it's cap).

The other issue is that it goes rancid. While I've never had this issue personally, I know a number of people for whom this gloss goes rancid. You should, however, be able to return it at the Clinique counter no issue.

Overall: Great gloss, one of the best, with a few minor issues.

I have tried this lip gloss in Mango and Raspberry, and I love that the shades add a tinted pop of fresh color to the lips. But what I liked most about these glosses were that they doubled as a moisturizing balm, something that has become essential for my dry lips. The gloss finish doesn't actually last very long, probably about 2 hours at most if you spend most of the wear time outdoors. But unlike most lip glosses or lip balms, this is one of the few that doesn't cause flaking or clumping for me. When it dries and the shine disappears, it just looks like clean lips again, and I just reapply.
