Anyone who spends a lot of money on a 'better' translucent powder is totally missing out on it! I have tried a few powders before but they were too overpriced. And as a teenage girl, I would want to find efficient, good and reasonably priced products. Compared to powders from Rimmel, Revlon and Face of Australia - I think Essence's Fix & Matte Translucent Loose Powder is a good optional swap if you want budget beauty with good quality. The packaging is a bit tacky looking but its sufficient to hold the product. It really makes my foundation/BB cream/tinted moisturiser and concealer less oily/dewy and more matte. Love it (: Go try it! It's only like $5.99 AUD? continued >>

Once again a product that would still be worth it even at a higher price. There's not much to say - it does exactly what it's supposed to do, sets the makeup to make it last longer and mattifies your face. It's finely milled and sold in a simple but quite practical packaging, doesn't sit in lines and lasts all through my workday. You also need very little product for the desired effect, which means that those 15 plus grams will take a long time for you to finish. Brilliant over concealer on smaller areas.

I used one jar of this product and i'm very pleased with it.

After that, I bought the catrice one to try but it doesn't compare to the essence one.

It makes my foundationa last longer, it helps control shine through the day, and it's very fine.

Plus, it's really cheap and one jar lasts a really long time.

After finishing my catrice one, i'm definitely going back to this one!

First off, I don't understand why the price is marked with 3 dollar signs as it really is dirt cheap!
For something so cheap, I wasn't expecting great quality but after reading so many positive reviews on this as well as many other essence products, I had to try it and it really does exceed expectations! The powder is finely milled and applies flawlessly and easily. I'm always after a matte finish for my oily t-zone and this product was amazing at keeping oil at bay! Reapplying for me wasn't necessary throughout the day which I like. Its not cakey at all and looks so natural. It was really surprising as no other matte base products have ever done this for me. Highly recommended!
I believe Essence has really earned itself a good reputation with its great quality products without the huge price tag. I just wish the packaging was much sturdier and a lot less cheap looking which I think makes some consumers reluctant to try Essence as it can come across as tacky dollar store make up.

OH MY GOD!!
this works BETTER then my $59 MAC powder!!!
I can't believe how flawless my skin looks after I use this.
I use it over my foundation then I will use a little bit of my Australis powder over this to give me more colour.
I have a problem with my skin looking 'bumpy' after using powders but this total fixes that problem!!
I have oily skin and I went shopping and I didn't touch up all day and I'm like wow my skin is so matte! and it's because of this 6 dollar
powder.

overal: CHEAP, makes my skin SOO FLAWLESS, Keeps my skin MATTE for a LONG time.
I will defently repurchase this again and again :)

I am glad I purchased this powder. It is really good, because:

- It's a very fine powder - no caking!
- No white cash, but make sure you apply sparingly.
- Little amount is enough and it makes skin really matte!
- Matte effect lasts long (unless you have really oily skin!)
- Perfect to set up a concealer and looks flawless under eyes as well.
- Not drying! I have very dry skin and for my surprise the powder did not make face unnaturally dry and itchy.
- Main ingredient - Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate does not only interfere with a suncream, but makes it even more active!
- Great for flash photography, because it has no silica...
- Affordable price.

Like many loose powders, it is messy. If you got a new package of this powder, do not remove the plastic film, just make a few holes with the needle - this will prevent the loss of the powder.

You can use the big fluffy powder of fan brush to apply it on your skin, however I use a simple cotton pad, because I can discard it after every use... It seems more hygienic in my case - you have to wash brushes often and even daily if you skin very sensitive. Powder brush takes days to dry completely...

If you want a non drying powder to set up make up, you don't need much coverage just to keep your skin matte - get this powder, you won't regret!

My city is well known for its humidity, living over the south of México and near a coast is not great for makeup lovers like me and girls with my skin type (I love autum/winter because my face and makeup get 100% better during these time of the year).
Onto the review, I read a lot about it and a friend of mine shipped to me since Its still not available in my city, so at $71.00 pesos which in dollars is around $5 usd (or so) its a great deal to try it out.
Im amazed by how great this product works, not only does it keep my makeup from melting off my face but it also makes your whole canvas look amazing, diminishing fine lines. I think this might be what I've been looking for, Im still going to try Ben Nye Powders tho just to see if they beat this one but for now, I love this product and I really wish that I can be able to repurchase this in my city once I run out of it.
Give it a go, its not that much money.
Ps. People may complain about packaging but I just leave it sitting on my vanity, I dont tend to go around with a makeup bag since everything gets messy, I rather reapply just lipstick and that brings back my whole face back to life since I'm super pale (yes, I'm also mexican, it's hard to believe that I'm a pale mexican, just throwing that out there)

If this isn't a HG product, then I don't know what is. I went to buy my regular translucent powder the other day but it was out of stock and I stumbled upon this for 6.95 aud (half the price of my regular) so I decided to give it a go. I must admit, I was a little worried considering it was so cheap and I'd never used an Essence product before. Ok people - this legitimately does more for me than my makeup than my regular translucent powder AND performance strength makeup setting spray do put together. It extends the wear of my makeup for hours and stops makeup transfer. It definitely mattifies and keeps all oil at bay without the need for touchups. It also gives my skin a beautiful, velvety feel. I have dry patches around my mouth and nose and this powder does not accentuate my dry patches at all. Because it is such a finely milled powder, it won't look cakey despite how much you apply. The colour is snow white but do not let this scare you - it will not change the colour of your foundation in any way shape or form. I have olive skin - it does not lighten my skin in the slightest. Most importantly it does not contain talc which will contribute to clogging your pores and lightening the colour of your foundation. This is most certainly a dupe for MAC's Prep n Prime translucent powder. Another thing which i love about this powder is that it contains 15.4g of product. Most translucent powders contain 8g, including the MAC. 15.4g is nearly double the amount of product, and it's a dirt cheap too! It mattifies, keeps oil at bay, prevents makeup transfer, and prolonges the wear of your morning fresh makeup. I have found a HG product and will continue to repurchase. For the price, quantity and qaulity, you can't go wrong. Hope this review helps!
