I bought this lotion after reading rave reviews and seeing some pics on the net. I got the shade Dark. For reference I have light to medium olive skin tone with yellow undertones, slightly darker in summer. As I try to avoid products with long, chemical laden ingredient lists, I welcomed the fact that this lotion seems like a decent alternative to many others that are heavily perfumed and filled with synthetic components. My skin is super sensitive and reactive, Prtty Peashun didn't cause any trouble for me, although I avoided putting it on my face just to be on the safe side although it says you can use it on your face. The lotion has a pleasant, inoffensive smell, slight shimmer and moisturises well. The shade Dark was still a bit light for me but it is my understanding that it is not supposed to tint your skin, it gives your skin a nice sheen and reflection with a bit of colour. It doesn't dry that easy. I find that it is best to use it on legs, arms and décolleté that will be mostly uncovered. So it is a great idea to buy it for summer, for holidays, for a special event but I am not sure it is good to use every day. The packaging is a little hard to get used to, you initially get more product than you need until you get the hang of it. It's best to slowly dip it to your palm so that you avoid mess and wastage! It is quite runny. Overall I like it and would buy it again for the occasions I mentioned. I sing on stage and if I'm showing some skin, I put it on for sure. It is quite expensive but I think it is economical as you only need a little and the hydrating properties make it double as a body moisturiser especially in summer. The lighter shades may work even better for the face as it can be used as a highlighter.
This is a miracle product for me. It has the ability to highlight any muscle tone or curves you may have even if not many. It really does sort of blur skin imperfections. This did not come off on clothing. Just wait a few minutes before dressing and you are good to go. I did not find it too glittery on my pale skin and i was using the Deep Dark as suggested. Have now bought Dark and will experiment with that and mixing the two just to have some fun with it. These colors do run light.
Purchased Deep Dark to make me look tan and glowy without having to go tanning. (I'm NC/NW 15-20) It is a bronze shade with copper/pink undertones. I was afraid of it being glittery, but it's not, thank goodness. The website recommends buying a color two shades darker than your natural tone, but if you want the TAN effect, get this one. Definitely helps my pale legs look better. Put it all over my body too and there was a noticeable difference- in a very good way! Def made me feel more confident in less clothes. It didn't look like a fake tan, it just warmed up my skintone and glossed over the imperfections. This needs some dry down time, and even when it is dry is is ever so slightly tacky. Nothing terribly noticeable though, so it's not a deal breaker! I like using this better than the Sally Hansen leg makeup because it is sheerer and makes you skin look smoother, plus you can apply it all over without looking painted. The smell is lemon-y initially but it disappears quickly. Reminds me of the smell of Jane Iredale's lip balm. Price is high but hey, your appearance and self confidence is not something to skimp on, plus the amount you are given will last a long time. You don't need to use a ton to get the desired effect. I highly recommend this because anything that helps us look and feel more like a Victoria's Secret model is A+ in my book.
So far this product is good-- first day using it over my Tarte self tanner... it feels like HEAVEN....by far the most amazing feeling moisturizer. It is a little more 'glimmery' than I hoped but thats okay....it makes your skin look so moist and healthy.....love it !! :) more later after I test how it holds up through the day.
UPDATE: Just too shimmery......
