Another stable in my daily makeup routine. I use this as an all over bronzer and eye contour. The price is around $6 at Ulta. The shade is pale girl friendly. However, if dropped, this product will shatter. I have a tendency to drop my makeup and I HATE proceeding with broken makeup, however this bronzer is too good to just throw away. If you have oily skin, I would recommend this. I have normal skin, so it works for my skin type as well. I have recently switched to a shimmer bronzer, because my skin gets incredibly dry during winter months.
I bought this after finding out that the shade in Medium is similar to Bobbi Brown's bronzing powder in Golden Light - which is what Lauren Curtis used to contour and I'm NC30 like her as well. I really like it! The colour looks really natural, usually I use a brown eyeshadow to contour but this looks so natural like WOAH! :O Definitely an awesome purchase!
Yep, another extra to 'try out' with my last Cherry Culture splurge. I purchased it in Light and was hoping to use it for contouring as I can't stand frosted products on my face.
It is definitely a fairly ugly rusty-pink with orange tones (I know that sounds weird, but it is truly a weird colour) which I can't see as working with any paler skin tones other than some specific tones. If the colour works for you, then that's great... but it is by no means a universally flattering 'bronzer'.
It's a tad too chalky to blend well (I had to dust myself with a couple of layers of translucent powder just to blend the harshness out), nor is it sheer enough to work as a real bronzer unless you're not going to be seen in daylight, especially if you have any dry, crepey or porous skin because this stuff will ensure that every flaw stands out. Definitely not one to buy online, sight unseen. If you can't try it in person, best use the dosh to double up on your favourite lipliner.
Oh, well. It's been binned and I'm following the advice of one of the women who wrote in about using NYX Hawaiian Coffee eyeshadow as her HG contour powder. I'd actually bought it as a crease shadow but haven't used it for that purpose! I was surprised as, even though it's supposed to be a matte, it's really more like a MAC sheer with a hint of frost to it, yet it doesn't actually give off any metallic shimmer and complements a slightly dewy complexion finish once I've done my BB cream & translucent setting powder routine.
I really like that a lot of companies are coming out with matte bronzers, so when I saw that NYX came out with one I had to try it as I've had a lot if luck with most of their products. The packaging is so lovely. So sleek looking and has a mirror inside which is always nice to have in most any compact product. I looked through the different shades and was lucky enough to have one in each colour open to swatch so I hear what people are saying about some of them being too orange. The deepest one is probably the best pick for everyone. I myself am quite fair skinned so I was a bit worried about picking up the darkest shade but I hate looking orange so I went for the least orange one and I'm very happy. The product is really easy to work with. Great consistency. Very easy to blend out as to not look too harsh (I use this for contouring) and it's gives me a nice natrual chiseled look. Over all I really like this, and for everyone an anyone if you don't want a reddish toned colour I recommend the deepest colour. Don't be afraid of it, even to my fair skinned ladies. There's no issue blending it out to look natural.
Perfect bronzer for contouring! Some people are saying this is a very orange bronzer. I don't find this to be the case at all, I have the shade Deep which seems to be a darker but less orange shade than Light. So Deep is the way to go. It applies well. Not too well though, so you can build up nicely to avoid making mistakes. So cheap and is the bronzer I always go to first.
I love this bronzer! The price is great the pigmentation is great!
The NYX matte bronzer overall isn't a bad deal. For the money, it is a great bronzer for the right girl. My skin is fair and neutral. The color of the bronzer turned very orange on my skin. I would recommend it for someone who is more warm toned. It is matte so it is great for contouring. The powder goes on smooth but seems to be a bit messy...it doesn't just come off on your brush but seems to get loose easily. I don't feel that it lasts very long on my face. So overall, if the cons are not deal breakers for you and your skin is warm toned, it is not bad but certainly not the best I have used.
I do not like this bronzer! At all! It is extremely orange! I bought this in the shade "Light" and the color looks nice in the packaging but once you apply this to the skin, it is awful looking. So orange! The "Medium" and "Dark" shades look somewhat promising but the "Light" shade is disappointing! I think if you have darker skin or you are very tan this would look very nice on you! But for us lighter girls, not so much! I do enjoy the packaging, the pigmentation is nice, and the price is good to. But the product itself is a fail! :(
WOOHOOOO!! I've been having amazing luck with the latest products I've bought and this one is no exception. I have this bronzer in Medium and I love this more than my Benefit Hoola. The shade is perfect for my skin tone so this works as a contour color AND an all over face bronzer for me. I have other NYX bronzers as well that I adore: The Tango With Bronzer - When Leopard Gets a Tan and Face and Body Bronzer - Medium. I have pale-ish skin that is fairly neutral with an itty bitty bit of yellow undertones. Goes on smooth as silk to a well prepared base and stays until you take it off. This is a hit for me!
Meh! Its alright as a bronzer, as long as you dont use too much as it can go very orange.
I bought it in the light (NW15 skin), but I probably couldve gone up darker if I wanted more of a darker shade.
