I had to give this a try after seeing so many NB-ers rave about it. It did live up the hype. Easy to apply, quick to dry and kinda sticky to adhere polish better - my manis lasted 4 days with this and could have gone longer but I got bored and wanted a change. One lippy off for the ludicrous price in Australia ($16). Worth a try if your manis don't last; I always thought that a lasting mani was all about top coat but the base coat definitely factors in too.

So far, this has been a pretty awesome base coat. It's only been a day, so I can't attest to whether it's long wear yet. If it stands up to chipping and helps my polish stay intact and fresh for at least a full week, it will get that 5th star and HG status. It helps my polish go on so smoothly! I actually went around with this base coat, sans color, for a day before I had time to paint on polish. That whole day, I could feel that the base coat actually felt a little tacky, so I had a good feeling that the color would adhere really well. And making it so that I really wanted to paint my nails and test it out! It does a great job of creating a smooth and sticky (not in a gross way) base for the color. I was using the Essie all in one base coat before this, and Revlon one is so much better and a little cheaper too!

WOW. This made my polish last five days with nary a chip, and I'd been washing dishes sans gloves. Daily. But I was chopping onions and nicked one of my nails, so I redid my nails. I don't know how much longer it would have lasted. VERY IMPRESSED. This is the best base coat I've used in recent memory.

When used along with the Colorstay top coat and Colorstay nail polish, this really does help polish stay on the nails.

I have been searching for a good base coat and top coat for the longest time. I have tried high end top coats as well as cheap ones. The only and honest reason that attracted me to buy Revlon it was because HEB had a coupon of 2$ off for any cosmetic item. The base and top coat retails for 4.95 each. Since I used two coupons I saved 4$. Not bad, but the real question was: Can it perform well? Let me tell you what I did and YOU be the judge. I put my hands thru abuse. Yes I did. I scrubbed, did laundry...you name it. I was completely impressed my nailpolish held up. Granted there was feathering on my tips, but no huge chips AT ALL!
I was surprised because usually by day 5, my nails look they went thru a battlefield with chipped corners galore. But after 10 days my nails still look pretty decent! There are no words that can truly justify how Revlon Colorstay Base and Top coat performed. This is honest to God Holy Grail quality. There is No need for me to look for another base or top coat, EVER. UNLESS...Revlon gets the crazy idea of discontinuing or tempering with a winning formula.
One thing I forgot to mention and it is worthy to mention that the brush for both base coat and top coat are big. Perfect enough that in one dip you can cover the nail completely.

This is my review for the Revlon Colorstay Base Coat...I purchased this because of a bad experience I had with Zoya Zuza nail color. I have never used base coats before, but when I removed the Zuza it left my nail beds this sickly green color. I used everything I could think of to remove the staining and finally had to purchase nail bleach to get it off. So of course its summer and I'm still craving blue's and green's so decided to purchase my first base coat to avoid nail staining. So I picked the colorstay base coat...well gosh darn it...my polish has been on for 6 days and I've had no chipping...I mean NONE. And the polish I used was OPI's, No Room For The Blues, OPI chips on me within 2 days, but I love their colors so I put up with it. But the real test was when I removed the blue polish...Yep no staining, not one bit. I am so pleased with this product. Oh and as a side note, I've used the base coat on my toe nails and even though I wear enclosed heels all day long, my pedi is still perfect 6 days later. This stuff is AMAZING!
