I have mixed feelings with this mascara. The first stroke I applied to my lashes I thought wow, but the only problem is this mascara isn't build-able. After you apply another coat the lashes can start to look flakey and clumpy, but saying that it does make your lashes slightly longer and does give volume and defines lashes but be careful how many coats you apply as you can end up with spider leg lashes! I also did notice that when you use eye lash curlers after the curl doesn't hold.

Not a huge fan of this mascara, for what it is and what I paid for it its not worth it in my opinion. In my past experiences with L'Oreal mascara I have usually been fairly pleased but this one is a let down, I don't like the plastic wand, it is too thin and doesn't give me any volume no matter how many coats I apply. Also, I can still see the blue colour of the wand despite having used the mascara several times, so it makes me feel like it hasn't got much product on it which is possibly why it isn't making any difference. On the positive side it is waterproof, very black and doesn't smudge or flake off, but it can look a bit clumpy. Overall I wouldn't by this again purely because I like my lashes to be long and voluptuous and this mascara for me really didn't do that. Definitely better ones out there in terms of drugstore mascaras.

One of the best drugstore mascaras. The wand is amazing it's thin and flexible it grasps each lash and ensures root to tip coverage. I curl my lashes and use about 3 coats it works wonders on lengthening but also adds volume without looking clumpy.

Really amazing product. Made my lashes longer and falsie (in a good natural kinda way) looking. Such a great product, i recommend to all. The only flaw is that because it is waterproof i had a hard time getting it off but i can bear that cos it is a really amazing product :)

This mascara reassured me of why I have avoided the drugstore mascaras in the first place- I wanted to love this but againt my YSL SHOCKING /FAUX CILS - LANCOME/DIOR the quality is not for me- however it did not flake or smudge- I used the waterproof- I have naturally long lashes- i wanted volume - not for me. It took ages to build volume- didnt like... may be okay for daytime, but its no where near the other false lash mascaras such as YSL-but then you get your monies worth - personally I would rather not use anything and save up to buy a better one that really works than to use this- okay mascara nothing special.

I bought this mascara as I previously had L'Oreal Carbon Black mascara and loved it, often getting asked if I was wearing falsh eyelashes.
This mascara actually does really lengthen and volumise your lashes without looking clumpy. It's easy to apply and you can layer it easily for a more 'full' evening look or wear it quite lightly during the daytime as you can make it look natural. The ONLY downside I could find for this mascara is that it (on me) tends to smudge onto my eyelid and just beneath my brow although this could be because I have fairly oily eyelids anyway.
I would definitely recommend this mascara to anyone - I'm just bummed I can't use it again because of my god damn eyelids!

I agree, this is a fantastic mascara. I got it as a freebie and didn't have high hopes since the Maybelline falsie mascara was very crispy, clumpy and the fibres tended to migrate. And while I love how L'Oreal Voluminous looked, removing was too much of a chore for my delicate eyes and tempermental skin. This though....wow. Love the brush shape. It's a spoolie of sorts, the mascara definitely lengthened my lashes in a natural false lash way. I cannot wait to wear this with actual falsies to get a full on exaggerated effect. Usually I'm unimpressed with most mascara as it rarely does what it claims to. My criteria for a good one are colour payoff, effect, lack of clumps and flakes, and staying power(non waterproof). And I want it to come off with relative ease at bedtime. So far this is a winner. If it doesn't start failing me in the clump and smudge department in the coming weeks, I daresay I may have an HG product. It would be a first in mascara.

Best daytime and ds mascara so far for me and I`ve tried many. Previous favourite for work and in-a-hurry one was Telescopic Carbon Black. This is much better. Gives amazing lenght, blackest black colour, enough volume, no smudging and separates.
I did not even expect a false lash effect. My lashes are black, thin, quite long and tightly together = not sparse. HG.

I have rather dark lashes naturally and so I tend to favour black mascaras and simply skip mascara for a more natural look. I never thought the day would come when I found a mascara so black that it almost is too black, but this is it. This is the blackest of black mascaras.

Now, with all mascaras you have to keep in mind that they can't create full, fluttery lashes if you don't have good lashes to begin with. Mascara only coats and thus thickens, and lengthens, what is already there to begin with. On me, this mascara gives me an almost false lash effect, really darkening, thickening and lengthening my lashes separating them beautifully for a dark, long, fluttery kind of look. It is just on this side of believable, for my lashes to look real if the mascara was not so deeply black. Which is personally the look I like the best. Especially since I wear glasses, which cause too long lashes to be a problem.

This mascara can be built up, adding more length and thickness as required though the lashes do tend to become a bit stiff and heavy if you do. Not a problem for me, but if you curl your lashes it might weigh them down and cause the curl to disappear. On naturally curled lashes, however, the stiff formula helps to lift them and open up the eye a bit more.

When it comes to smudging and flaking...it is not a waterproof mascara and so any wetness can cause smudging, but save for that it does not smudge nor flake.

I like a mascara to add colour and length and avoid thickening. I like to just have them be defined. I don't think my lashes look like false lashes by any stretch, but they do look full and long. The look is fabulous in the morning and it lasts all day. I live in Wales where being rained on is not only possible but practically a guarantee, and I've still never seen my mascara suffer. I don't ever get raccoon eyes. Also, I can't have petrochemicals in my mascara and this one doesn't have any. So False Lash Telescopic has unseated Max Factor and Dior as my go-to mascara. I'm a fair redhead and I use Hypnotic Brown. HG
