Considering I have rebought this scrub about eight times, I think it is safe to say that I really like this stuff. I have acne prone skin with large pores. On any given day, it's safe to say I have at least one small pimple or a blackhead. Basically, my skin is not perfect and I know what it's like to have blemished skin. After trying many acne products, many from Neutrogena but also many from other brands, I can say that I never go without this. This scrub helps dry my blemishes quickly. But unlike other scrubs, this one does not make my face red, itchy, nor does it come with any sort of "purging" stage that I often experienced with other scrubs. I sometimes use it more like a mask and have been known to leave it on for 30 min when I have especially bad skin days. Yes, it can be drying at times, but I moisturize well and problem solved.
i love this scrub because it leaves my skin feeling really soft and clean but i'm not going to repurchase because it can be a little drying because there is a lot of alcohol in the scrub. also, it smells very strongly of rice vinegar which is a little offputting after a while.
I bought this product because I wanted a gentle, yet effective daily scrub. I have sensitive, acne-proned skin, yet I love to exfoliate. Onto the product: since I have an extremely oily t-zone area and dry cheeks, I decided to go with this product because it claims to control shine for 8 hours. Now, for myself, I think it controlled the shine for about 2 hours at most, so it was ineffective in that area. I do, however, like this scrub because it is less harsh than the St. Ive's apricot scrub, but it does the job every morning. There is a bit of menthol in it, which I do NOT like. menthol is known to irritate sensitive skin and actually increase oil production. Manufactures put menthol in their products to make consumers "feel" like they're getting the deepest clean as possible from the product. But, I would have preferred to omit that ingredient, if I had the choice. Overall, it's not the best scrub I've tried, but it certainly hasn't broken me out. I'm already done with half the tube, and so far, it's done a good job exfoliating my skin. I would repurchase only if there is a coupon or a sale going on.
Edit: The product does not advertise this, but there is Salicylic Acid in it. I am very sensitive to S.A., so therefore I cannot repurchase. I wish Neutrogena didn't have to add SA or BP to their products. The only one I could think of is their Naturals scrub..
To start off, I have very oily skin and when I say oily, I mean within 5 minutes of applying makeup or washing my face, my face starts to become shiny. (no exaggeration here!!) I take great care of my skin so unfortunately my oily skin is hereditary :/ Anyways, I recently bought this at Target for about $6. I've been using this for about 1 week and I have seen a great overall improvement in my skin! My oily skin has become noticeably way less greasy and my face feels fresh and smooth after I wash it. Its great! I have tried the mask/cleanser, but this one is extremely better and worth the price! Recommended for those with super oily skin or those searching for a perfect drugstore exfoliating cleanser!
I have combination skin: cheeks can get dry, but not usually if I moisturize regularly. Problem T-zone (oily upper lip, in between eyebrows) that breaks out. I thought trying to control the oil build-up might improve my breakouts there. I also prefer using a gentle scrub to a cleanser because I have milia.
I haven't tried any products specifically for oil control, so this product popped out to me. It's helped control shine, there is significantly less oil buildup during the day. I also love the smell! It's fresh, clean, yet slightly feminine.
The one really great thing about the scrub is that it doesn't dry out my skin like most products (even if they're advertised as won't dry out skin) do!!
