I bought this foundation because it matched my skin tone perfectly! But, alas, that is the ONLY good thing about this foundation. It looks terrible on! You can see every skin imperfection when wearing this foundation. I've tried wearing on multiple occasions and every time I just hate how it looks...I would not recommend this to anyone.

I really wanted to like this because I've never seen another foundation shade like Ivory. It's almost too light for me (NC10), and that just does not happen. It's very similar to L'Oreal True Match in W1, but to my eye it's a tiny bit more yellow and a tiny bit lighter. Unfortunately it finds every single pore on my face makes itself at home. I've tried to wear this on three separate occasions -- once with no primer and twice with different primers -- and it does the same thing every time. I end up washing it off after 20 minutes because it looks terrible. I just can't stand it. Definitely not recommended for anyone who has less-than-perfect skin, especially if you have larger pores, fine lines, or dry spots. Very fair folks with yellow undertones like me will be tempted to try this but I found it very disappointing. I'm keeping it in my stash, hopefully it will be useful for mixing with other foundations that are too dark, but I wouldn't repurchase. Not if it was the last foundation on earth.

Picked up this foundation because I have more combination skin and I usually really like NYX products, but was disappointed. The consistency is really thick and it felt and looked cakey on my skin (especially in the more dry areas) and I found it hard to blend.

Well. I picked this up because the lightest color looked like a good match for me, and I like a good matte foundation. This is not a good matte foundation, which I should have guessed because the powder version of this is not a good matte powder, either (that one starts out velvety but quickly allows shine to glow through).

However, the lack of a true matte finish would be a workable problem (since sometimes I do go for a dewy look), but that's not this foundation's only issue for me.

No matter how I apply it (sparingly, generously, with or without primer/setting powder) it seems to sit on top of the skin like a waxen second layer. Coverage is sheer and sloppy looking---though it goes on smoothly, it seems to highlight dry areas, rough areas, areas with fine hairs (which for us mammals is basically your whole face), pores, and oil slicks.

This also never seemed to 'settle' on me, feeling slightly tacky and waxy whenever I touched my face.

Although I should just throw this out, the hoarder/resourceful side of me finds it has some use in thinning out too-dark foundations to achieve a better skintone match. For instance, when I mix a little of this with my summer shade of Colorstay, it fixes the color without overly destroying the lasting power/finish of the Colorstay itself.

I don't know why this foundation works on others but not on me. I do not have especially difficult skin to please when it comes to foundation. But there are so many other matte/unshiny foundations out there with better lasting power and a more elegant finish that can be found at nearly every price point---skip this one if you are on the fence, unless you are willing to schlep it back somewhere for store credit.

Based on the picture, Im assuming this reviews counts for all shades not just the Ivory. I purchased mine in Nude, a highly recommended match for NC25 skin, with warm undertones. I think it is the closest match but sadly not the best. I tried Creamy natural -super pink! and Natural-super orange! All the shades seemed to have this underlying problem, super strong visible undertones. Nude is yellow but looks muddy (dare I say orange) if I only do a spot application on problem areas, it absolutely must be blended all over to look wearable. Luckily its a beautiful creamy thick formula that glides and smooths out instantly. I don't even need a brush, apply like a TM or high end BB cream, same squeeze tube bottle also. Its medium to full coverage and never looks cakey on. It leaves a very dewy finish, its not glitter/shimmer but looks like Ive sprayed a cool hydrating mist, which I dont mind considering I have dry skin. Im just shocked their calling this a "matte" product?!! Maybe their implying your natural oils wont seep through the day instead? (Which they do) Im not sure, but I had this same issue with the powder counterpart to this foundation. I find the staying power to be below average as well . I use a finishing spray (Skindinavia) and still find it separates in my T zone area at the end of the day. Maybe its my super hydrating moisturizer underneath this but I just feel like a slick grease ball. Its an uncomfortable I want to wipe my face off feeling, yuckk. I don't get it because I have veryy dry skin (Embryolisse & natural oil serums are my friends even in the summer months) just so you get an idea of how parched my skin is. So be warned and take it with a grain of salt! continued >>

One of the better low cost liquid foundations I've used, in fact better than some of the high end ones I've used. Above average coverage (I use a primer), matches my skin tone well, not flaky or cakey or streaky. Stays put for the whole day. But, summer hasn't arrived for a true test yet!!!!

Love it! I went from revlon colorstay to this stuff and it's soooo much better. I found the revlon colorstay extremely oily and it was absolutely ruining my foundation brush. This stuff isn't though, it's a nice consistency, stays all day, I just set it with a little powder and it's good to go. ivory? (I bought the lightest shade) works excellent on me and I also wore ivory in the colorstay. this foundation is a tad bit more yellow toned but at the same time it's pale enough it doesn't seem to make a difference. This foundation has excellent coverage, medium to full I'd say. I would definitely recommend this to others. I also like that the tube is so heigenic (sp?)

Ok, I bough tthis last night and I am wearing it today and so far I love it! I use under my BB Cream , I apply it with a. stippling brush, and I buff it out with a beauty belender. The results I got were great! This covered all my red spots I was happy that I did not need to add concealor to my forehead or nose. This product does give a matte finish I have oily skin so who knows how the day will go. I recommend testing the shades first, if you live near an ULTA they have all the NYX samples so you can choose your color.

I would defintley recommend this product it is cheap but it works. I traded my Benefit Oxygen wow for this and I do not think I will be going back!

I am an NC20 and the second-to-lightest shade they had looked orange on me.
I tried to put it on my face, and it separated over my skin and made my pores look bigger and my face hair more apparent.

If you're orangey-tan and have super oil-slick greasy skin, this might work.

Hey, I don't know why nobody likes this foundation. It's really a good drugstore buy and has a great mattifying effect and staying power. Combined with a good primer underneath it lasts the whole day on my face, mind me I have combination skin with an oily t-zone. It's not my HG foundation but if the one I usually buy is out of stock I always come back to this one, because I also like that they came out with really light shades and I'm wearing the lightest one, ivory 01, which is just fine for me.
