I love this product! I was sleeping on it for a while due to so many bad reviews on multiple websites. I'll never do that again!!
I have never had one problem with this product being tacky/sticky. It's a gel but it's not. It provides a ton of moisture and hold to my curls without being crunchy and dried out and it makes my hair so shiny!
I can go a good 3-4 days without re-moisturizing my curls. I've never had any product do that before (and I am a product junkie!). The souffle doesn't sit on my hair and feel greasy either. Any other styling product I would use for twist outs always required me to re-set my hair with more twist every night and morning. When I undo my twist in the morning, I don't have to add anything to my hair...I'm good to go!!
I find this product a winner...the price, how much you get, the small amount that needs to be used, and the scent...makes a great product. If I could change anything, I would prefer the packaging to be a squeeze tube, to help prevent loose strands of hair getting into the container.
I will add that I cannot go more than 4 days without co-washing or shampooing my scalp/hair so for the ladies that don't wash their hair that often, this could be a negative about this product. I definitely think it has the potential for 'nasty' build up. Since it is so moisturizing on my hair I would never want to re-set my twist out with more of the souffle. I would probably just add water and re-set.

Despite the negative reviews I still picked this up because when it comes to hair and beauty products everything is subjective. First of all a little goes a long way and its best to apply it over another product as the finisher. After cleansing my hair I apply the SM Curling Smoothie or Curling Milk in sections. Then I apply the Souffle last...also applied in sections. Once completed I twist my hair and then go about doing something else for thirty minutes. After 30 minutes I untwist and separate with my fingers. I allow it to air dry and my hair looks shiny and healthy. Curls are defined and not sticky at all. I can keep this look for about three days and only touching it up with the SM Curl Shine and water once a day. This is the best way to use the Souffle. Combined with another product its great but by itself it definitely is a hot sticky mess. For me I will definitely re-purchase.

I did not like this at all. I dont know if I was using it wrong or it's just not for finer 3b hair. Its slimy and gooey and just did nothing beneficial for my hair. I had this exchanged for the hair smoothie which worked alot better for me
Great results when used on freshly washed hair and paired w/SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. My hair had well-defined curls and was very moisturized. Loving these products and will definitely repurchase.
Some people complain about the product being too oily. I believe that they are using too much product. A little goes a long way. Don't post bad reviews if you are not following the directions. Holy grail product for me.

Does a good job of softly defining my 4a curls and kinks. However, it's really greasy, so a little goes a very long way. I can define my hair the same way with $1.00 Ampro clear gel without the greasiness, so I will use this up and not repurchase.
This product is horribly sticky. I applied it to my hair when I was doing a twist out. As I took out my twists, my hair was so sticky and grimy and still felt wet after I used it. I give it a 3 because it did stretch out my hair but it was just too gooey and the texture felt slimy. I'd rather spend that $10 on a bag of organic flax seeds and make a homemade gel that is not sticky. I don't recommend this product at all.
I had previously been using the hair smoothie from the same line, but I wasn't that happy with it because I felt like it didn't fight frizz or define my curls (4a/3c) that well. I used to use a gel that worked great for that, so I wanted to try this, since it has a gel consistency.
This product is very oily! it's also very sticky which I do not like at all! If you try to work with your hair while this product is still wet in your hair, your hands will feel very sticky and uncomfortable.
I gave it three stars because it did a great job of helping my hair lie flat and it did define my curls. But the sticky and oiliness is a huge con, and I probably will not use this again.

I'm a biracial curly girl with 3B type curls. I'm always on the search for products that define my curls without leaving them hard, crunchy, greasy, or frizzy by the end of the day. It's hard to get the right balance with a gel sometimes -- too much = crunchy, and too little = frizzy areas. I've been known to use 3 or more styling products (for instance, leave in conditioner, then mousse, then shine serum) to try to get the look I want.
I've been using the Curling Souffle for more than a month and so far it's an HG product for me.
I originally bought it because I was looking for products without silicones, plus I love the smell of coconut. :) I apply this after washing and conditioning to soaking wet hair and then I gently blot my hair with a microfiber towel. To get an idea of the texture, think of a gelled oil rather than hair gel. It's pretty sticky feeling while wet, but I don't get any stickiness once my hair dries. The jar cautions that a little goes a long way and I agree. Again, treat it like oil, not gel.
In addition to well-defined, glossy curls on the day I use it, this product even gives me better 2nd and 3rd day hair. I find that my hair is much less frizzy after sleeping on it when I've used this product.

I am honestly on the fence with this product. Ironically it works as a gel with my 4a/b/c hair, when it is wet and I use another gel (a small amount please). What is making not full on like it is that it is slimy and slippery, making the application process a chore. Plus when it is wet, it leaves my hair sticky until it is dry. I will continue to experiment with this product before I update.
