Not a winner for me. The one good thing about this product is that it felt absolutely silky on my face, even several hours later. But that was the only "pro", everything else was "con". There was zero oil control and this product left a white cast on my skin. Ineffective and not cosmetically elegant. Wouldn't repurchase.

I love this moisturizer/hydrator! I have oily skin (particularly in the T-zone) and I live in a very hot & humid country. This was perfect for oil-control - I didn't need to use oil blotters that often anymore.

One point to note: I felt that this product did not provide sufficient moisturizing to my skin. So I apply Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel first before applying the Stay-Matte Hydrator. continued >>

I bought this product two months ago with the hopes it would control my skin and oil-slick nose.

After daily applition for the first week, my skin was visibly less oily but unfortunately a whole lot drier. Unfortunately the product dried out my t-zone and cheeks considerably, and I stopped using it in those places.

I'm now just using it on my forehead, morning and evening, where it does a good job at controlling oil (I have a fringe/bangs so a matte forehead is a must) and just avoid any dry patches.

I'd recommend it to anyone with very oily skin and no dry patches, as although it has not worked for my skin, it does live up to its name. It also works well as a base for foundation.

I bought this because I have very oily skin throughout my T-zone, yet get dry patches. I've yet to find my perfect moisturizer for oily skin.. they are either too greasy, too thick, cause break outs, etc.

This one goes on nice and I could instantly feel the "matte" effect. I noticed less oil throughout the day, but still had to use my clean and clear oil wipes just as I did before using this product. My main problem with this product is that after I used it for about a week, I began breaking out with tiny zits all in my T-zone. This "pore refiner" did nothing for my pores except clog them further. As soon as I stopped using this, the tiny pimples in my T-zone faded.

OMG! the best oil control hydrator ever. finally my search ends here, after trying so many products to keep at bay my oily skin, this one is the winner. i bought it 20 days ago at my local macys clinique counter and it really works!!!! leaving my skin smooth and matte instantly and during at least 5 hours and i touch up with my pressed powder or a blotting tissue and my skin keeps going matte for another 5 hours. it's non acnegenic, very light and safe to use, it does not moisturize enough my skin but i use a toner before this lotion and after a gel-cream lotion oil free sunscreen and i'm done. it works very good with my sunscreen, and is a best option for a makeup primer.!!!! my brother horrible oily skin love it too! (he was very skeptical after using clarins men shine free gel, lorealmen pur mat, etc, etc..... and he tryed this one and he say finally the product that a i was looking for!) girls and boys give it a try to this clinique new product, it's a winner 5 stars. you'll really notice a huge improvement in your oily skin, trust me. ;)

This is a quite basic moisturizer for oily skin. After trying so many brands, this one actually stays matte all day. I like how it leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft, also that it seems to have refined my pores. I also noticed that it acts well as a primer, it holds make-up well in place. Although that it suits my oily skin very well, yet sometimes I feel that it still isn't moisturizing enough.

i have the oiliest yet most dehydrated of skin plus I live in the humid climate in the tropics. leaves skin super matte but not moist... feels parched dry after using this esp after in an air-conditioned environment. doubt it has anti-aging benefits. not really keen to use after a few times... into the bin it goes.

OMG!! this product has made such a dramatic difference in my skin! I have the OILIEST skin and this controls the oil soooooo well. I was really skeptical purchasing this because almost nothing works for my OILY skin. I seriously recommend this to anyone who has oily skin because it is just amazing! It is quite expensive ($37). However, it really does work! I never expected to find a product like this but I decided to try it out since I wanted the free clinique gift. I am so glad that I ran into this. This is actually my first purchase that I made from clinique and I am really satisfied with it. I believe this is one of their new products that just came out so definitely check it out!

I got this last week when going to pick up the skinbalancing powder make up. I'm constantly on the look out for anything mattifying, oil free that'll help my make up stay put and that's what I thought the powder make up would help. I work in a hospital sometimes pulling 12 hour shifts with literally no time for a loo break never mind a touch up. I've always been sceptical about Clinique products - there is literally a potion for everything and the reviews are so mixed with my own group of friends literally divided 50/50 at extreme ends of the spectrum - either love or absolutely hate.

This definitely works. I only need to use it over my T-zone but it is the only product that I've used that when I touch my nose about 4 hours after, it hasn't got a layer of make up grease ready to slip off. I agree with one of the previous reviews that there's not much call for a primer after using this. If I do use both, I find it difficult to apply my foundation as it sticks too firmly so it looks a little patchy over and around the creases of my nose.

Now I have less inclination to layer on the make up to make it last longer and it's been an absolute godsend at work - the fluorescent lighting and heating that is always on in the summer and never in the winter and all the running around up and down stairs - this keeps my make up put more than any other product I've ever used including Dermalogica's clarifying mattifier, Illamasqua's matte primer and Chanel. I haven't powdered my nose since starting to use this (those sneaky pretending to rummage through your bag for a ballpoint whilst facing the wall to quickly use a compact) so I'll definitely be buying again.

My only gripe is the £32 for 50mls. It does work for me so I'll live with the cost I'll only buy this when I have enough Boots or Debenhams points or any other offers.

Ok, first off, I work for Clinique as a SA/MA. I received this product gratis (free) to test. First off, THIS STUFF WORKS. Now, not all Clinique products work for everyone, because we are "special snowflakes" in MUA speak.

But, I must say, I just love the pore refining solutions line. I already use the serum and the instant perfector, but this just puts the icing on the cake, so to speak. I tried this on a very humid day and had no oiliness whatsoever. This does keep the skin moisturized and yet keeps oiliness under control.
This comes in a green pump bottle to keep the product sterile and one pump is good for the entire face. I believe it's a 1.7 ounce bottle.

Description from website: "After mattifying instantly, this oil-free formula supplies needed hydration while curbing excess oil and shine for 8 hours. Even T-Zones feel fresh, stay comfortably matte. Instantly refines the look of pores with unique light-scattering optics. Over time, pores seem smaller. Non-acnegenic."

Skin Types: 2 - Dry Combination, 3 - Combination Oily, 4 - Oily

If you are a long time Clinique customer, you might remember a product we had, called "Moisture in Control", this is it's reincarnation. I highly recommmend it to anyone with enlarged pores or oil issues. You will be very pleased with the results. Also, please try the other products in the line, AND we now have Pore Refining Solutions Foundation!!! Really if you have pore/oil issues and use all these products in conjunction you will really see an amazing difference in your skin. Please find a good local Clinique "expert" for advice.

This products runs $37 USD at Clinique countes nationwide.
