Alright, so I have fair, sensitive, VERY ACNE prone skin. This past couple months have been hellish for me, battling acne, breakout after breakout. The most recent cleanser I tried was loreal go 360 anti breakout cleanser. I tried to think back to the time when I even had remotely good skin before I moved to the east coast, and I was using the loreal 360 exfoliating one with some general BP. I figured the anti breakout would would as good if not better. Wrong! I broke out in these disgusting (pardon me) huge puss filled pimples ev-er-y-where. Gross. This being one of the only drugstore cleansers/scrubs I haven't tried, I picked it up the day before yesterday. I also picked up the GEL cleanser (not the other smaller one. It says "gel acne" on it.) I've been using burts bees sensitive makeup removing cloths before I get in the shower, then the Y2T gel cleanser, and a little of this scrub. I think I'll alternate days with this scrub. ALREADY my skin has cleared significantly! Scars from previous breakouts are already disappearing. I already have more self esteem. I donr dread looking in rhe mirror anymore. This scrub isn't too abrasive, but is "scrubby" enough! My sensitive skin doesn't feel red or raw. In fact, it feels SOOTHED. After shower, i slap on some burts bees sensitive daily moisturizer, and spot treat with Equates Spot BP. AMAZING! Update to follow.
Ive seen this in drugstores for years and the line has alwayd intrigued me.. but im cheap, so theres no way id pay more than 6or 7 bucks for something like this. I got lucky. I found it for 3 at five and below and finally got to try it. I am impressed! I just had a bad experience with a different acne scrub and was a litle weary. My favorite thing about it was that even though my face has been so dry this wintet, i didnt even get tightening or dryness after. Of course, i used moisterizer anyway, but for the first time in a while it didnt hurt not to.
I dont think the smell is bad. I think ppl have it in their mind that its tomato so thats what they smell. My only issue has been its hard to rinse off completely when not in shower. Im hoping overtime its going to help the blotchy-ness and old scars thats are so noticeable on my fair skin.

This has to be the worst cleanser I have ever used. Prior to buying this product, I had high hopes for it since it claimed to be natural and it contain tomato extract which is wonderful for the skin, especially acne-prone skin.
Upon application, my face immediately felt like it was burning. After washing it off with water, I noticed my face got really red and puffy. I decided to give it another shot and use it for the rest of the week but to my dismay, it just didn't work. My face actually broke out even more and my pores were very visible. My face also felt very rough. This product was just way to harsh for my sensitive, oily and acne-prone skin.
I brought it about a year ago and it is still in my bathroom cabinet; I just don't want to throw it away since it was not on the cheap side.
I do not recommend this cleanser and I would never be buying it again.

After running out of my backup facial cleanser, I stopped by Whole Foods to see what kind of 'natural' products were cheap (but effective) enough to warrant an experiment. Ironically, it was after going through the various reviews on Makeup Alley that I decided the pore scrub was worth a shot...
And it turned out rather horrendous. The first night wasn't so bad--massaged gently, no visible reddening or burning, no film on the skin (and it may be my inability to detect subtle odors, but I didn't notice any 'odd smells' from the scrub). I have pretty severe acne (two bouts of Accutane, been fighting it with all sorts of OTC/prescriptions for over ten years with varying degrees of success), acne that resisted bottles of BP labeled '10%.' A little salicylic acid could only help (or do nothing, since I had to bump myself to BP, then oral antibiotics and prescriptions topicals after salicylic acid proved useless)...
Inconclusive. The second day, I noticed some white 'film' spotting one cheek while I was rinsing; it didn't wipe off with my fingers, but I did manage to wipe it off with a towel. Dead skin flaking off? Not sure what it was.
Third day, I started to feel the effects of dry skin.
Literally the fourth day after using the scrub (as advised on the bottle), my skin has turned into Death Valley. I have oily-combination type skin, very sensitive and a pain to babysit. While no new pimples (that I'm aware of) popped up to make things worse (hopefully), no amount of moisturizer can keep my skin from flaking off. It's been about three days since I stopped using the scrub and resorted back to a combination of my primary cleanser (Neutrogena's Visibly Even Foaming Cleanser) and hastily made milk/honey facial cleansers and honey/cinnamon/nutmeg facial masks.
The area around my mouth (and nose) is still too taut, red and flaky, which makes it uncomfortable to talk (much less open my mouth more than an inch to eat, for heaven's sake), but the area around my eyes has healed somewhat.
I'm not entirely sure to the source of the healing, and it actually pains me to think of throwing away the Yes to Tomatoes scrub (I'm not exactly a wealthy gal, living paycheck-to-paycheck)--but I suppose there was a reason why they were on sale for $8.99. (Only used six-seven times, my goodness... it's practically still full. Any takers?)
Other users seem to have had a fairly good experience with the scrub, however, so it might just be my skin that reacted extremely poorly to the acne-fighting ingredients. At the very least, I haven't broken out even more than the usual; the salicylic acid was just too much for my apparently even-more-sensitive-than-sensitive skin.
Going to keep using a raw-honey facial until I find something a little more suitable for me! (Be it completely au naturel.)
I love this <33333 It's gentle enough to be used everyday but it doesn't dry out your skin! The best of all it does help minimize the size of my pores for about $10.The texture feels like a normal exfoliater and this has a very light scent to me. If you haven't tried this stuff you really need too!
Im going to start off by saying most of us are trying to get on the "all natural beauty train" so thats why i even gave this product a chance, price wise its great i believe it was 8.99 at target in NJ, the plus to the scrub is that it worked very well for my sensitive skin, i didn't get red or irritated, my face felt very clean and i did see some clear up, (when i break out i usually do on my right cheek :(,,, the down fall is it will dry you out, and the smell isn't the greatest, i would definitely suggest moisturizing afterwards, overall its worth a try, i would purchase again unless i find something better then i definitely would kick it to the curb.
I was really disappointed in this product after reading all of the great reviews. I was looking for a good scrub that had acne-treating properties since I have acne-prone skin. I think my skin didn't respond well to the salycic acid in this product. I had a few small pimples when I first bought this; I used it once a day for about a week and pretty much immediately started breaking out on my nose, chin, and forehead. So I stopped using it for a few days, and things started to calm down. Then I used it once at night and I had two more whiteheads on my chin when I woke up the next day!
I think some people respond to salycic acid differently, but for me, my skin really didn't handle this product well. However, I started using it on my back (where I occasionally get blemishes), and it's working great there! Less sensitive I guess. That's why I gave it two lippies rather than one.
After having used this product for about 2 months now, I can easily say I will never buy any other scrub, cleanser, or treatment for my acne-prone, oily skin. I use it at night, and when I wake up he next morning, any acne I have is either minimized or gone. It also reduces oil (which is a huge plus for me) and leaves my skin with a soft, matte finish. I reccomend this to everybody looking for a solution to acne-ridden skin!
My skin loves this! For reference I have moderate acne, and while I don't think this is a complete cure to acne this is a wonderful cleanser and I will continue to use it. Normally after I wash my face my acne and hyperpigmentation will appear noticeably more red and obvious immediately after cleansing but with this it actually helps to alleviate some of the redness and calm my skin. My face immediately looks brighter and slightly more evened out (don't expect miracles though, this is just a cleanser). Also, I'm very picky about my exfoliating scrubs, I don't like them to be too runny with little beads nor do I like them to be so concentrated with beads that they irritate and scrub the life out of my skin, this cleanser is the perfect balance. I've heard you should only exfoliate 2-3 times a week but I use this every morning with no problems.
I like the natural ingredient list of this scrub. It contains fine bamboo scrubbing particles to gently exfoliate skin. Also has 2% salicylic acid and bisabolol to soothe irritated skin. I use this in the morning and follow it with Neaclear facial cleanser as I feel that this scrub leaves a residue on the skin. The smell of this scrub is horrendous. It is like hot tomato funk. Won't repurchase due to the smell and that it seems to leave a film on my skin.
