Essie Go Overboard is a beautiful deep teal cream. I've had this in my collection forever and I'm just now getting around to wearing it. It is streaky with the first coat but a slightly thick second coat evens everything out wonderfully. It wore well for a week with only slight chipping and tip wear. My only complaint is that it stained my nails and skin pretty badly upon removal. I'm not a big fan of smurf hands, if you know what I mean. 4 stars because of the messy removal, but I would repurchase.
Super gorgeous deep teal cream. Applies brilliantly. Love!
SUPER beautiful color but it's soo gloopy and messy. This is a polish that makes you feel like you just started applying nailpolish all over again. All technique you've acquired goes right out the window. This stuff just gets all over the place and stains almost immediately. No bueno.
ETA: Chipped within 24 hours. BOO.
I think Go Overboard is one of the best teals on the market. It's a true teal, the perfect mix between blue and green.
The application was an absolute dream. It applied like butter and the brush fanned out nicely. It takes only 1 coat to become opaque, but 2 for complete even-ness.
So far, I've had this color on for about 3 days, and no chips! There is minor tip wear, but that's expected from every nail polish so no biggie.
The only reason I wouldn't recommend this color is because teal is not the color for everyone. When I bought it, I was extremely excited to use it after looking at swatches online, but I personally did not like it on me because it just didn't have the "wow" factor.
Having bought and ran out of a Miss Sporty polish that was a lovely deep teal colour and not being able to find a replacement ANYWHERE (I bought Winter 2011), I saw this Essie polish and was happy as it's a dupe. A More expensive Dupe, but compared to Miss sporty, I get more product, better coverage and better quality.
I love this colour- two coats & is opaque like everyone else has said. On my brown skin it's certainly more 'blue' according to my Bf but i think it's a bit more green on me- Perfect! I love a colour that's subjective and captures the eye! P.s In the picture, I'm wearing the Miss Sporty version, but it's exactly the same.
Beautiful deep teal color. I had a coupon at CVS for a free Essie product and this one caught my eye! I put it on the next day and wow!!! Almost full opacity with one coat, and with a second coat its beautiful. NO streakyness! The color is gorgeous by itself, but I put Shine of the Times over it and it is my absolute favorite combination ever. Perfect for any season, really. Its just so....pretty!
This polish is the greatest! I absolutely love the color. It is so richly pigmented and has quite the "wow" factor. The formula is pretty thin in consistency, but I prefer thin over goopy. I get great control with the brush, too. Overall one of my faves.
I'm very happy with this color. It is a deep, vampy, teal creme that's more blue than green. It is perfect for summer pedis and a nice alternative to deep reds and burgundies in fall and winter. Essie formula can be iffy, but this one is smooth, easy to apply, and opaque in a single coat. Blue seems to stain my nails more than other colors so I use two coats BC with this. I'm quite pale with warm (yellow) undertone and I find this polish quite flattering.
I'm not an Essie fan in general, and I've never been a fan of greens but I saw this shade and had to have it. I picked it up at Walgreens for $8 and applied it as soon as I got to my car. It's completely opaque in 2 coats and a deep, creamy teal that pulls more green than blue for me. It doesn't stay shiny for long without a top coat, and I despise the brush as I always do with Essie but this color is so great, I'd buy it again. I've had several comments on it, as people see it as black from a distance, and I'm a nude-nail type, so if you want to avoid any "goth" thoughts, you may want to stay away... this polish is not for the faint of heart.
