When it comes to makeup, all-natural isn't always better as this mascara proves. It applies heavily, clumps the lashes on application and requires thorough combing after each coat. It has poor wear and starts smudging within hours; lash primers help but not a lot. I think a lot of these problems are due to the brush design: this has to be one of the largest mascara wands that I have ever seen. Not only is this mega-wand putting on too much mascara with each coat, it also makes for a messy application if I'm not careful.
The mascara's very black, so there's a positive.
I wouldn't bother with this one, however, not when there's several other drugstore brands that perform better. If you insist on all-natural mascara, you may have to shell out the bucks for a prestige brand with better quality, as this mascara doesn't have it.
Don't do it girlfriends, PUT IT BACK ON THE SHELF! Lol I really wanted to like this product especially having to see one of my fav makeup gurus raved crazy about this product. But this was definitely a miss for me. It's way too wet for my taste. Even after letting it dry for an hour, my lashes still felt moist to the touch. Having that said, it smudges!!! Worrying about whether my lipstick is on my teeth is one thing, but if I have to keep tabs on my smudgey mascara as well...no thank you. Though it isn't as bad if you use it with another mascara. Love the brush and the packaging, but the formula could use some readjusting
My go-to mascara! It delivers great volume; my lashes look very full, but not over-the-top or fake. It doesn't irritate my eyes or cause any noticeable damage to my lashes either. I had a lot of trouble finding a good, affordable all-natural and cruelty-free mascara but this one delivers!
This mascara is impressive...ly smudgy. I normally have to wear an eyelash primer under mascara anyways (my contacts sometimes make my eyes water), but even with my favourite primer (that keeps every other mascara on), this stuff just smudged EVERYWHERE. And not just when I first put it on, it smudged hours later, out of the blue as well. You cannot touch your eyes when you are wearing this, or your fingers and face will be covered with little black smudges.
The brush is REALLY huge, which I found a bit unwieldy, but whatever, not a huge deal. It looks nice, when it isn't smudged all over your face.
This mascara is too wet to work with. I purchas
ed the black colored on and the pigment is great but that is all. My lashes - puney, fine, light brown. Wish I could find a natural based mascara that worked. :(
First impression: A very wet mascara. When swiping down on bottom lashes, I could not help but smudge every time. Worked much better swiping from inner corner to outer. Smudges were easy to wipe off though. Not much for lengthening. This is much more of a carbon black kind of mascara. Noticeable (lashes) because of its see-from-a-mile-away blackness and thickness.
If I had long lashes, I would LOVE this. It's L'oreal Telescopic Carbon Black's thicker sister. If they combined they would be great. LTCB has blackness and length, but what's that point if you can't see them because of no thickness? Guess a thick-lashed person would like that. Personally, my favorite drugstore mascara is L'oreal Telescopic Original because it gives everything for a cheap price. I'd say that would be this and LTCB combined.
For reference, I have typical asian lashes. Short, straight and terrible. The brush is not as big as it looks in pictures, thankfully. It's smaller than the Lash Blast brush it emulates. I haven't used any of the LB mascaras since high school because I try something new every time, so I cannot compare.
Bottom line, remember: NO LENGTH. ALL WET BLACKNESS AND THICKNESS. 3/5 as in okay. People with length already would love this.
I do like this mascara for a number of reasons. 1. It is natural and organic. I know not everyone cares but when you have a medical condition that is affected by chemicals additives one can get excited. 2. The claims seem to be true for me. My eyelashes are long but who doesn't want longer eyelashes and I can see a difference. 3. Dat brush! This is my holly grail style brush, I love this brush! I will buy this again and I do suggest others to give it a try.
I like this mascara for a really natural look. Doesn't make my eyelashes stand out or anything but it does give them some length. I would wear it more often if it didn't come off so easily. This mascara seems to never dry, if I touched my eyelashes it would come off and they always felt a little wet.
Well, I didn't actually own this product. I used my friend's before a concert. (I know, blah blah blah, Germs.) It did NOTHING for my lashes. My lashes aren't even that short and no length was added. No thickness. I do like the packaging hehe.
I LOVE this mascara. I use it everyday.
I created a custom report on the Skin Deep Cosmetics Database website and got a score of 1 = safe
The color is ultra black which is really deep and nice. The texture makes it easy to apply and it's also very easy to remove. (this is NOT a waterproof mascara). You could probably get the same results with a cheaper $ mascara but if you want something with no harmful chemicals this is well worth the extra money!! I'm still on my first one and I've been using it for 3 months now. SO glad I found this mascara!
EDIT Purchased another one and still love it. I have been using this mascara for almost 1 year now. After reading other reviews I thought I should add that I have normal-dry skin and long lashes. Consistency might not be best for oily skin? I also curl my eyelashes before applying mascara. I apply lightly and only to top lashes vs multiple coats on top + bottom. Finish off by gently running clean lash brush to separate/define lashes. I guess it's HG status for someone looking for a more natural look, like me =)
