love this liner
easy to apply
have had my tub for months and it has not dried out yet although ive heard they can
I apply this with the elf smudge brush
I have sensitive eyes and this has not irritated them
Let me start by saying that I am generally not a fan of L'oreal products. I normally find the staying power to be slacking. I purchased this liner based on raves from the makeup board. I can honestly say this lives up to the hype for me. I find it last much longer and with out smudging compared to maybelline and wnw gel liner. Formula dries really fast so you have to work quickly. Brush it comes with is actually really nice and good quality. I only have the black shade, and will definitely purchase other shades once I find a good sale.
black gel eyeliner. glass pot. It is between $25-28AUD in priceline thought i bought it with 40% off. for reference, i have only tried MAC Blacktrack and Maybelline Gel eyeliner in the purple (so i can only comment then on the comparison between maybelline's quality, not colour comparison)
i noticed that it is a much darker black than MAC Blacktrack. I also noticed that it doesn't dry as fast as the MAC formula. by that,i mean that when i place the loreal gel eyeliner on my eyelids, it teams to smudge for the first 30-40 seconds. i need to make sure that i keep my eye exactly half way open for 30-40 seconds, so that the line doesn't smudge onto my top eyelid/crease (i have hooded eyelids) and not to blink too much so that it doesn't smudge into my tear duct area. When i use backtrack, i do not have this problem.
Between the Maybelline and loreal, i find that the loreal is more creamy in texture. it also stays longer and seems to be more pigmented.
Between the three formulas, the loreal eyeliner is more creamy. I also did not find this eyeliner to smudge (once it dried completely on my eyelid). it stayed on all day and was removable with a baby wipe with micellair water on it. I found that there were traces of the eyeliner left, MAC Blacktrack is easier to remove.
i found that this eyeliner performed just as well as backtrack, with the downside of having a longer drying time. its a cheaper alternative, and is more 'black' in colour than MAC Blacktrack is.
i would buy it again based on the fact that it is reliable and cheap. having said that, i actually would continue to buy MAC Blacktrack based on the fact it doesn't need such a long drying time. i just didn't want to ruin a review based on by hooded eyes (cause not everyone will have this problem)
I LOOOVE this gel eyeliner. I have a hooded monolid so my eyelids really test the staying power of this gel eyeliner! I've been using BB gel liner for the last 2 years. Loved it because it didn't budge on my eyes but it always dried up in the pot and caused flakes after 3 months.
L'Oreal's gel eyeliner is equally as good as BB, except it is smoother & does not dry. I've been using this everyday for the past 3-4 months and I've barely gone through half of it. The product is still in the same condition as when I first bought it. I've worn it to the gym & clubbing and have no trouble. This one is way better than Maybelline which smudged like crazy on me! Definitely give it a try!
Holy grail product. Stays ALL day and is fairly water resistent. Perfect for creating a cat eye or a simple winged liner. Best results when used with an angled brush.
I've only used pencil and liquid eyeliner before and decided to give gel eyeliner a go. I intended on trying Maybelline's but they were all out of black so I picked up L'Oreal's instead. I was totally blown away! It was easy to use and the gel eyeliner glides on smoothly. The small brush it comes with is nice and soft. The pigmentation is very true to its name, "Blackest Black." I've had no problems with smudging either and my eyeliner lasted all day through scorching heat, even on my oily eyelids! Overall I was thrilled with this gel eyeliner and would definitely repurchase. :)
I have been reading reviews on MakeupAlley for a while but I did not write any so far. This product, however, gives me the determination to create an account and write a review!
This is the first gel eyeliner I used. I only used waterbase eyeliner (from Kate and another Japanese brand) before this as I thought gel eyeliner is hard to control and dries up quickly.
I bought the brown gel eyeliner because I heard from a beauty blogger that it is very easy to use, and it happened to be on sale. And then I was so impressed. It's smooth, easy to apply and can do both thick and thin lines. Most importantly it lasts through the day. Non of my previous waterbased eyeliner worked half as well! I even went to play windsurfing the other day and at least half of it lasts through out the day- very water resistant!
Will recommend to girls with "oily eyes" like me! Faith in gel eyeliner restored lol.
This is actually my first gel eyeliner and I have to say that it is great product! I don't like liquid eyeliner because I don't know how to work with it so I was surprised when I tried this gel eyeliner and it was so easy to work with! It stays all day on my eye and the colour is really black. Definetely recommend!
I have been trying many different eyeliner pencils...and the lasting power still suck. So I decided to give this a try and...it was amazing! The intensity is great, it's not difficult to apply on even for a beginner like me, and the lasting power is superb with a little black eyeshadow on (I used this trick before on eyeliner pencils yet with no luck). FYR I am living in a humid city. So overall this is good given the price.
Great gel eyeliner! stays all day, easy to put on or blend if you want to. The color is very nice and black!
One of my favourites!
