Received this as a sample in my Birchbox and I seriously fell in love with this!!!! I have already ordered a full size because I love it so much. When I receive the full size I will definitely use the recommended 3-5 times a week. With my sample I only use twice a week, and I have already seen amazing results. My skin's texture has greatly improved and some of my darker spots have begun to lighten up a bit. So happy I was able to sample and find such a great product!

Received this as sample in my Birchbox. I love it! Just squeeze out a miniscule amount and you can use it on your whole face. Small little granules can be felt on your skin once you start smoothing it out all over. Leaves face rejuvenated. Not sure If I would buy the full tube at full prices but the .25 sample I received rocks!
I ordered this after seeing all the rave reviews... YES THEY ARE ALL TRUE! This stuff is amazing; I cannot believe the brighter, rosy glow in my complexion after just one use. I use this every other day (I leave it on for the recommended 2-3 minutes), and along with a spin brush once a week. The results are at least just a good as getting a professional facial, in my opinion. Love the packaging, too; easy to store in the shower and get out just the right amount of product. A true holy grail for me; I hope this product is never discontinued!

Love it. Have used St. Ives Apricot Scrub for 20+ years daily and still do, but I really want to get BrightenUp to use a couple of times a week with my Mia face brush to make my face spa facial super-smooth. I got a sample in my Birchbox a few months ago and have used every speck I could scrape out of the tube after I cut it open, lol! If you have sensitive skin you might want to be careful with this as it is very abrasive.
GO small Canadian companies with excellent products! I have NEVER had a home scrub/exfoliator leave my skin feeling so soft but with so little irritation as with this product. I bought it last week and have used it twice and cannot get over the results both times (I thought the first time might be a fluke). I applied this to my wet face after removing my makeup, scrubbed gently for the specified time and then left the product on for 2 minutes (the instructions give you 2 options; I figured I'd try combining them). While I waited for the 2 minutes to pass, I gently rub the product remaining on my hands from the scrubbing stage into my hands (why waste it?) and even my hands are better for this treatment.
I am utterly blown away by the excellence of this product. I think I have found my HG product and this will certainly replace my scrubs from Laura Mercier, Clarins, Philosophy and a myriad of other companies. On one of my recent trips to Sephora, I "treated" myself to the teeny tiny half ounce tube of Kate Somerville's Exfolicate just as an indulgence (that stuff is pretty good but just so insanely expensive). But BrightenUp is every bit as good a product (maybe even better!) and at $34 for 120 mls, it is a great value too. I don't know why more people haven't tried/reviewed this product!!! If you can get your hands on this (SDM in Canada carries it at some stores and the company does have a "store locator" on their site), grab it and give it a try! You will not be disappointed.
I just ordered a full size bottle after getting a sample (10mL) in a recent Topbox. This product is a little expensive but I'm willing to pay more for something high quality and made in Canada. The fragrance is very light, almost unnoticeable, and the thickness of the paste means it's easy to rub around your face without losing any of it to dripping from your fingers. The micro crystals are definitely there as others have commented, you'll feel like you're scrubbing your face but I don't find this to be too harsh. Overall my skin feels great after using the sample a couple of times per week for a few weeks, and although I don't notice any actual brightening, I like it enough to order more to have on hand.
I've been using this for a few months now and it is definitely the BEST exfoliating cleanser I have EVER used. I use it on the days I don't use my Clarisonic and it leaves my skin so polished and clean. I live in the pacific northwest and the colder climate here really dries out my skin so a good exfoliating cleanser is essential. I can't honestly say whether it brightens my skin or not because of the other products I use that claim to do the same thing, but I'm on my second bottle and this is definitely my HG exfoliating cleanser now.
Having said that, I'm really upset about the packaging because the bottle comes and it's only about 2/3 full, and it's not that big of a bottle for the price. If getting stiffed on the amount of product you get for the price is something that really bothers you, you're really going to be upset about this one. Be warned now!
I'm still an exfoliating junkie after all these years, even after having found my HG exfoliator (philosophy microdelivery peel) and a decent second choice (Kate Somerville Exfolikate). Still, when Birchbox sent me this product, of course I'm trying it. Duh. BrightenUp! is a white cream with crystals which comes in a squeeze tube. I used it in the middle of the week while I was away from my microdelivery peel.
Good points:
--It does do what it says it will do. Very exfoliating. Leaves my skin very smooth. I haven't tried it yet on other areas, but intend to.
--Mild to unnoticeable fragrance. It squirts out of a tube as a plain white thick cream.
--Gentle enough that I can use it several times a week, which I plan to do.
Bad points:
--Even though I say it's gentle overall, at times the exfoliating crystals can sometimes feel a bit too harsh on my skin. It almost feels like tiny pieces of glass on some areas. I guess I need to not press so hard when I scrub.
--The price ($34USD for a 100ml tube, although I gladly pay $68 for microdelivery peel, so what do I know :) ).
I plan to carry this on travel and use it during the week, leaving my beloved microdelivery peel for Saturday nights, as I always do.

So far, this is the best exfoliating cleanser I've tried. The micro crystals are abundant (advertised as 25% of product) and they are hard and a little sharp. Using this non-foaming cleanser feels just like a mild version of a microdermabrasion and my skin feels great afterwards. I have an oily nose and chin, normal cheeks. My skin has been looking very dull lately and I can honestly say this product can slough off my dead skin.
I take a little bit of the product (about a centimeter in length) and rub this over my skin. I also leave it on for a few minutes on some days. It rinses clean and has not dried out my skin, too. Skin doesn't feel raw or dried out. This product is also advertised as 99% natural? It's nice to know, but this wasn't my deciding factor. The exfoliating and cleansing qualities are really good! It's worth the money ($34 CAD), but I will grab another bottle when it goes on sale at Pharma Plus.
