Idyllic was released as a limited edition Paint Pot in the Posh Paradise collection, September 2011, which is when i got it.
While described by MAC as "Mid-tone copper bronze (Frost)" - and it has those qualities - it is a beautiful chameleon, as it also can look burgundy. It is a medium-deep color with nice shimmer, so best used with some other colors to brighten other parts of the eye.
Like other MAC Paint Pots, it is blendable when first applied, but sets fairly soon to a stable finish. I just wear it by itself because i love the color, but many people use Paint Pots as a base for other shadows.
I took a gamble on buying this paint pot, normally it wouldn't really be my thing. But I love this! Idyllic is a really unique shade, its like a wine-burgandy-brown shimmer. It has a really smooth application, blends well. However, you don't want to get it anywhere that you don't want it to be, because you won't be able to fully blend it out. You will have to remove any excess or unwanted product with a Q-tip and makeup remover. Over all, great, fun product. Glad we're finally seeing some colored paint pots from MAC again.
This is a beautiful paint pot that really makes blue eyes pop. I think that if the Cranberry shadow was a paint pot, this would be it. I like to use this one as a base in the Fall. It's limited edition so hopefully they will re-promote it!
