The smell is nice enough (unlike its shower gel counterpart which I can't stand) but one thing I've noticed with body shop's body butters (and some cheaper brands) is that the cream does not fully absorb into the skin but that there are tiny flakes or bits when massaging it onto the skin. And it's not dead bits of skin (if that's what you're thinking) because when I use a more expensive luxurious brand I never have this problem. I would not waste my money on this product.

Smells luscious just like chocolate, it's very moisturizing and it lasts a long time. Thle only thing is don't accidentially touch your face or lips as your lips will go numb. It says right on the product not to use on face, as that is odd.

FIrst off, I didn't even want to smell this product when I walked in the store because I've never found anything chocolate scented that I've liked. My friend insisted I smell it, so I did and I just HAD to have it. It smells just like chocolate, soooo yummy!
It is super moisturizing, leaves skin feel very soft.
My only complaint is how hard it is to get out of the container. Because it's a very moisturizing butter, it has a thick texture- it's almost rock solid. So it's a bit difficult to get out of the container.

So when I found out The Body Shop had a chocolate body butter I couldnt wait to try it. For the most part I like the body butters, however, most of the shea butter based body butters from the Body Shop have the same scent undertone that i do not find appealing. After smelling the chocolate in the container, I was in love and have to have it, well....I should have put it on my skin before I rushed to buy it. Its starts out smelling like yummy chocolate but once its on the skin, the chocolate smell dissipates and it just smells like every other shea butter based body butter at the Body Shop. It is VERY moisturizing though, so for that reason i MAY repurchase, but IDK. My fav Body Shop butter is the mango, its base is mango seed butter so the scent stays true to what it smells like in the container and stays with you all day.

I LOVE the smell, but there is a huge problem with this product for me. It tastes terrible! I have never had a lotion taste so bad. The taste lasted all day, on my arms on my hands, even after I washed them. I will buy the body scrub again and possibly the shower gel, but not the lotion, I cannot handle the taste.

To start with: the smell is absolutely gorgeous! Leaves your skin smelling great and I have had quite a few people say I smell great just by sitting near them! It really makes your skin smoother and more hydrate and I think it's a truly great product.
However, it is quite pricey and if you apply a bit too much it can make your skin look a little greasy so I tend to use it sparingly before I leave the house but put a fair bit on before I go to sleep so no-one will see my greasy face!
In conclusion, I would buy this product again (I have!), it is a bit expensive but worth it, smells heavenly and really moisturises your skin!
5/5 for moisturising

I love the smell of chocolate. I also love the luxurious feel of body butter. Combine these two loves together, and you'll get TBS's Chocomania Body Butter. This stuff is simply amazing.

As a body butter, it's very moisturizing. It's creamy and thick, and claims that it gives 48 hours worth of hydration. For me, I found this to be nothing but the truth. My dry skin drinks this up like no other and remains satisfied for a while before needing some more again.

When it comes to the fragrance, I find it lovely. It doesn't have the same deep, rich chocolatey smell that is associated with the shower cream, but it has this milk chocolate and peanut butter scent that's hard to resist. It reminds me of peanut butter cups. It's still delicious and decadent, but for those who are looking for a pure chocolate smell, you'll probably be disappointed. There is a perfume scent mixed within it -- the same scent used in the shower cream -- so the body butter still matches its shower cream.

At £12.50, it's still a bit pricey like all the body butters sold at TBS, but to me, this is worth it.

I'm not crazy about this body butter, but I do think I will keep it (I've been debating returning it for a week, since I got it). It smells sweet, kind of chocolate, but a bit artificial. I swear that on some days it smells better than on others - I could be going crazy, but it smells better today than it did yesterday. The dry down is my main issue with the scent - it can be very old-lady and artificial, but the texture makes up for it. I haven't had any problems with pilling like other reviews, and it sinks in pretty quickly (unusual, most of the time things just sit on my skin) without getting too greasy. It's definitely been helping with the dry weather lately, but I think that there must be better options out there - so, no repurchase for me.
Oh, and yes, it does taste absolutely awful if you ever get it in your mouth by accident. Don't eat with your hands after using this!

O MY...GOSH, i do not know why others hate the scent, but i think it smells A-MAZ-ING. scent combination: almonds, shea(not overpowering), cocoa powder, cream,?..maybe, toffee, vanilla, and just a honey sweet scent that doesn't straight up smell like chocolate, but more of a piece of chocolate made up of a multitude of yummy things(almonds, cocoa, vanilla, cream, TOFFEE:)))) !!!!! :D and i feel it moisturizes the same as say...the mango body butter from the line. SO OVERALL 5 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chocomania does not have any parabens in it, versus many of the other butters in the line. It has a very slight chocolate scent to it, but it mostly smells like the shea butter body butter. Overall it's very creamy and seems to melt away into my skin making it feel so soft. It does not moisturize for 24 hours like it claims, but I got at least 8 hours. If there's a sale, I would repurchase it again.

I love the smell and the way it melts into my skin. The texture is unusual -- I thought there was something wrong with mine until I read the reviews here. It comes out in clumps, rather than smoothly, then sits on the skin. Even after rubbing it in, I found little clumps left here and there. As others have said, it is quite greasy.
I'm liking the smell more and more, though. Chocolatey, but not overpowering. A mixture of shea butter, honey and coconut.
Have to add to this that my arm just brushed up against my lips, and the taste is awful, very chemically. Definitely would not buy this again for that reason alone. In fact, I don't even want to use it again.

I recieved a nice sample of this through a swap and it smells like chocolate in the package and it smells like chocolate when you first put it on but on the dry down it smells kind of weird... and it is VERY greasy.. i hate greasy body butters! I wouldn't purchase this one!

I bought a small travel size of this to try it out as I quite like the scent and am a big fan of body shop's body butters. The smell is pleasant: sweet and nutty (I think it smells a bit like chocolate cake!) and stays on the skin. I have very dry skin and this keeps it happy and itch free. I shower every day so I haven't gotten round to trying it's 48h claim. The texture is my favourite in that it is firm in the pot and it just melts on the skin, it's not as creamy as say, the cocoa butter body butter, it's more like how the brazil nut body butter was.
I'm planning on getting a bigger size soon.

Smells disgusting... Does not remind me of chocolate... I used to like TBS chocolate and orange line few years ago, but this chocomania smells so bad I have to wash it away immediately.

Love love love the scent. Definitely chocolatey. As far as moisturizing qualities, it's about the same as any other Body Shop body butter, which is fine for me as my skin isn't especially dry. I don't think it lives up to the 48hr claim but that's not a dealbreaker for me.

Though I am generally a huge fan of TBS, Chocomania Body Butter was a complete miss for me. I was given an 8ml sample of this and did have high hopes for it as I love body butters. I must say I do like the smell; it's a chocolate with a hint of.. something else. Reminds me of the almond butter maybe? And it's not like most chocolate scents that are too sweet or synthetic.

But unlike other body butters from TBS that I own, this one is very greasy. I don't know if my sample had some sort of issue but it was rather unpleasant. The formula looked normal, but left my hands/feet/arms shiny, as if I had literal grease from a french fry on it.

Also, I do not recommend this for use in massaging as it clumps up easily with contact, once it's on your skin. Even if it's just been applied onto my arm and I accidentally brush against it, it pills up. I have never had that issue before either.. Would not purchase.

I received a generous sample of this recently and have now been using it for 4 days. When I first heard about the chocomania range I was soo disappointed because I hate sweet scents and chocolate is one of them. I used it, and while it's pretty good at moisturising, though the 48 hr claim is not really true, I just could not get the sweet scent out of my head while I was wearing it. I wouldn't buy this but if you love chocolate then I recommend it because it's great for keeping skin soft and moisturised during these cold winter months.

I got a sample of the new limited edition Chocomania Body Butter which will be released in Sweden in February. I'm a huge fan of TBS Body Butter. They are essential, especially in the winter season. They are very moisturizing and basically the best Body Butter I have tried. The only downside is the price which is on the expensive side.
I am not a huge fan of chocolate. That however doesn't stop me from liking this body butter and its scent. It's not overpowering and I actually like it. I recommend it, if you're a chocolate lover it's a must-have! continued >>
