I expected this to smell like a Hershey bar, but I was plesantly surprised. It smelled almost like how the Brazil Nut BB smells, maybe a little sweeter. I liked it, but I would not purchase again. It's really nothing to write home about. I will stick to Mango, Satsuma, and Shea butter.
Nice texture and hydration. Outset, a little like cocoa scented...not long after a strong, lingering perfume scent. Hard to wash it off. Smells like sandalwood and musk, certainly not chocolate and made my nose itch. Will go back to hemp line.
Love love love this body butter from The Body Shop!
It is my absolute favourite at the moment, and I am onto my second tub of it in a year.
It is probably one of the thickest body butters that The Body Shop has, and states on the container that it hydrates for up to 48 hours, which is pretty intense!
I don't use the butter how you 'should' rather I put it onto my clean dry skin in the morning before I go to work (I shower at night), so it is a little bit sticky to begin with. Because I wear tights to work, it's not really an issue, and I find it to be quite comfortable.
My body isn't overly dry, but I do find that without this body butter, my skin doesn't feel as good at all!
The fragrance of this body butter isn't for everyone, so I wouldn't buy it for a gift for someone (unless you knew that they wanted it), but I figure if you love it, who cares if other people think it's weird that you smell like chocolate!
This does smell like chocolate however it kind of smells a little salty. The moisturization it provides is top-notch and is definitely worth the money. The Body Shop usually has sales so that would be the best time to purchase this. The smell even though it is a bit salty is divine. I feel like eating my arms after I apply this lol. Check it out.
I have been using The Body Shop Body Butters for years as my main body moisturiser. I love them and can't get enough, however, this product is just plain awful! My fiance said it smells like dirty feet, which I think is pretty bang on! It clumped on my skin, isn't very moisturising. A waste of $27AUD. On a side note: Why do the Body Shop never do sales in Australia like they do overseas?
I've been a huge fan of these body butters for years! I have tried almost the whole range and loved them all but the formula on this one is just awful! It does not sink into the skin at all but rolls off in doughy flakes a couple off minutes after applying. It also have the worst taste! It might sound weird (I swear it did not eat it). Even if I don't touch my face at all it somehow gets in my mouth, even after I wash my hands. I'm very disappointed in this product, it's too bad because it smells delicious!
In general this product is really good:
Extra moisturising
Lovely smell
Nice packaging
But here's where I agree with some others:
- the taste: people may read this thinking 'what does the taste have to do with it?!' - it lasts all day so if you accidentally put your hands up to your mouth (even after washing) or as my boyfriend noticed when he kissed me arm that the taste is foul! Tastes like chemicals and you can't get rid of it! It has put me off a lot... Before I was in love
- only use before bed: otherwise it's too greasy when putting clothes on and takes a while to sink in
I would buy this again but perhaps in a lotion which isn't too heavy or has the dreaded 'taste' !!!
I love this scent, it's the same as a chocolate series that Crabtree and Evelyn used to have. However, after applying it forms a sticky layer on the skin that flakes off! It also tastes horribly bitter if you accidentally get some on your lips or mouth.

I was first introduced to the lovely sweet, warm, sensual scent of chocomania via this body butter. I was not crazy about the consistency of this body butter. Thank god I only bought a mini. The one I bought was lumpy and I found I had to really warm it up in my hands to get it to apply. It wasn't a creamy consistency like the Cocoa Butter one. I much prefer the body lotion! It did moisturize of course and I felt my skin was still soft until the next evening. The scent is a definite plus! It's not too sickly sweet and it doesn't remind me only of chocolate. It has a slight cocoa, chocolate and a bit of a musk scent to it. It's a very warm sexy smell! Now I use everything in this line because I can't get enough of the smell.
These body butters from the Body Shop have never been disappointment to me, the Chocomania is just as good as the regular line. The texture is very thick, it's in the same solid form as some of the regular body butters for dry skin such as shea, coconut, brazil nut, etc. It's thick enough to make your skin feel well moisturized, but there's no reside or grease film left behind. The smell isn't 100% chocolate in my opinion, it's got the concept of a chocolate bar but I can smell play doh from it, which is very strange. Although the scent might be a little off, it's still pleasant enough that I enjoy putting it on my skin.
