Within a few days of using this product, I knew that I was quite likely holding my HG. A couple years ago I started trying to wear sunscreen everyday, but I always had to worry about my skin having a grayish cast from the sunscreen ingredients on my NC42 skin. I tried the SPF 55 Serum Tinted, because both the tinted and non-tinted formula are touted to not look chalky and I wanted some of the benefits of a tinted moisturizer. Indeed, there is no white cast. Further, since this is a serum, it is more thin than creamy and light in texture, which is good since I do apply this over a moisturizer. As for the color, this is key: it does not strike me as universal. When you first pump the product out it appears fairly light, but once you apply it to your face it adjusts to a tan--a suntan that is. It gives my skin a warm glow, but if I had a fair complexion, I wouldn't touch this. If your skin tone is tan-to-deep, this is a great sunscreen to try because you will not look ashy. If your skin tone is fair-to-medium, the non-tinted version is probably a better fit unless you want to have a summer tan effect.
