Ok i love these Dual Pencils so much that i HAVE to write or add my review since there is none on here- dunno why but these are so incredible i had to add this so others could go out & try these!
PRICE/AVAILABILITY- These LA Colors pencils can be found at varying stores like Dollar General, Family Dollar, Dollar Tree as well as online. The price is from $1-2. Price & availability of course depends on your location.
SHADES- (all pencils include a super black kohl eyeliner)
*Coffee- this reminds me of Iced Mocha- a brown taupe med coffee shade, so pretty & use it the most
*Tantalizing- this reminds me of French Fries, a metallic looking bronzey orange brown,
*Flipside- this is a great pearlescent white/ivory shade. Great for inner corner h/l or right under the brows or all over for a pearl base reminds me of Cottage Cheese JP
*Smokey- this is almost like Slate JP, a deep smoky silver gray ash color, great for smoky looks esp black can be too harsh sometimes, great for purple & brown shadows
*Aquatic- this is a gorgeous deep ocean blue, it does look dark navy blue pencil form but once applied, it lightens up slightly, its great for liner or a blue base, vivid teal blue, very unique i own nothing like this color
*Bejeweled- a great deep purple ameythst, such a pretty purple, looks like a jewel, its a darkened purple violet, looks like Purple Violet JP
FORMULA- these are double-ended double duty pencils. The one end is a soft kohl super pigmented black liner & The other end a creamy soft cream pencil base like NYX Jumbo pencils but less likely to crease well its hard to describe but jumbo pencils can tend to crease since it contains wax so it can slip a bit but these pencils have less of the waxy finish to them. The texture is similar to elfs studio shadow pencils. The cream shadow end is super easy to apply to eye without tugging or pulling. they blend well w/ fingers or brush. I like to swirl my finger on tip & get some & apply by tapping & blending onto desired area. the warmth helps to blend out evenly so less creasing will occur. The colors are all great bases for powder shadows to go on top & will help the pigmentation of shadow as well as staying power. You can def use these on their own as pencils or shadows. i will suggest setting w/ powder whether it be shadow or your face powder since it will soak up any excess oils so they will stay put even longer. Priming eyes also helps significantly. I use these on top of my eye primers & they will last for at least 8 hours- ya a long time!
PACKAGING- i love the double ended super convenient concept. it works great since you can have a simple look w/ one item. The pencils both are same size which i would hope the cream pencil would be bigger but it would throw off the thought but you do receive equal amounts of the shadow & kohl liner. The are a tad smaller in width/shape of a jumbo pencil but you will need a bigger pencil sharpener for these BUT HAVE NO FEAR! they have been so kind to include a sharpener for these bad boys for you. The sharpener works just fine as sharpening evenly & well. it can sharpen them to a finer line like it originally looked if you want a thinner line. I love that they included that bc most companies want to sell you it separately to make a few extra bucks. The pencils are wooden so they sharpen well & sturdy. The eyeliner side is black the whole way to the shadow side to the tip for it will be shaded in the color of the cream shadow. that makes it super easy to tell what color it is. Mostly black pencil w/ white label/name & arrows pointing to which product is which,,as well as the shade & name of the colors. I love the pencil & writing. looks great! you get a decent amount of product. i do def see myself going thru the shadow sooner & being left w/ a whole bunch of black kohl liners but its worth that flaw. If they only had made the liner smaller, this would be perfect! The point will get dull but w/ daily use, i sharpen them around 4-5 uses which is pretty great! The kohl liner is super black & great for lining the lash line but you cant get thin precise lines but works great to line waterlines since its a bigger pencil, you can place the pencil in & close your eye & run it along top & bottom at the same time which is super easy for beginners like me which tight lining is hard & uncomfortable at first!
Overall- for real i own all the ones i could find & can only hope theres more but if not, im satisfied for i got a whole bunch of liners & shadows to use. these will I have bought backups of them all so im def obsessed! great product LA COLORS! CRUELTY FREE MULTI-TASKER THATS SUPER AFFORDABLE! They are I think great alternatives to NYX Jumbo pencils if you cant get them easily that these. I have bought backups of them all & know these will forever be in my makeup routine! I love using them as cream shadows alone, or as bases & as liners. continued >>
