Said to be the embodiment of human trust, expressed by Oudh, walnut and red wine accord. (see the appealing launch video (EN)Blask, on youtube).
This is the latest creation from the impressive German partnership, who brought us Skarb and Eau Radieuse. though at the same time I have mixed feelings about their marketing.
The oudh and walnuts are very difficult to find, and the red wine is probably a red herring. So I ask myself, it this just the ancient conspiracy of the perfumery trade to confuse and intrigue the hapless consumer with any kind of blarney, in order to make the products more interesting?
What is Blask in reality? It's very sweet and balsamic (coumarinic), like various sweet fougeres, like Joop for Men and Le Male for instance. It has a similar honeyed quality to Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. There is a fruitiness, possibly apple, possibly even date (datilat). And a spiciness like cassia. It reminds too of various feminine fragrances, but probably is truly unisex. Overall, it's a very nice fragrance. But no walnuts.
