Alima's website says that Buttercream is "Pale yellow-gold with high shimmer" and it definitely is very shimmery. It is not sparkly, though which makes it appropriate for day wear, it my opinion. I love using it as an all-over lid color under nearly every color I wear. I love it under Alima's Aria. I am a cool, pale, blond, blue-eyed girl and I was afraid that gold eyeshadow would be too glitzy to wear, but I got Buttercream as a free sample and used the whole packet. I ordered a sample, used that all up, and and then finally ordered a full-size container. I love this eyeshadow and I wear it nearly every day! Sometimes I use it to help "tame" and blend other colors if I get a color on too dark, and sometimes I just use it as a highlighter. If a person wanted a little shimmer on their cheeks this could be used for that, too.
I got a little tip from Alima's website explaining how to wear loose eyeshadow, and now I don't have nearly as much trouble with fallout on my cheeks as I did before. Pick up a little color on your brush and then swirl the brush around in the lid until you have pushed the powder into the bristles. I was worried that I would waste product, but after I tried it, I found that I wasn't putting any more powder on the brush than I would have been, and I wasn't having to clean up the tops of my cheeks every time. Give it a try, it really works!
