I use this cream on my six year olds wavy/curly fine hair and it leaves her hair soft, curly, not frizzy, and it smells great. (my daughter and I both love the smell). I am really happy to have found this Nuance line. The reason I love Nuance products is that they are high quality, natural, cruelty free products at very very reasonable price. I much rather use these products (especially on my children) than all those chemicals that big name brands put in their stuff. I also hate all the cruel animal testing that Loreal and all those companies do in the name of profit. I wish Salma Hayek continied success and hope to start seeing more Nuance products (just saw that they just came out with a BB cream which I cant wait to try). So far Ive tried a few items and some I love and some did not work as well but thats not to say that there is something wrong with the product but as you all know... everyones physiology is different so it is up to the individual to do their research and choose wisely the products that are appropriate for their own hair, skin etc. Overall Im very happy with this line.
I purchased this on a whim after seeing it while grocery shopping. I purchased the travel size and I'm so happy I did not buy the full bottle. This is one of the worst "curl" cremes I have tried. I thought the Sammy Curl Creme was drying but even that one took at least a week to make noticeable damage. This product made my fine, somewhat dry, curl hair into a poof ball. It did not control frizz but created it. It increased my fly-aways and created volume in a bad way. This was all within HOURS of putting this product in my hair and it air drying. I don't really believe in heat styling my curly hair.
After waiting a few weeks, I attempted this "curl" creme again.... I'm not really sure what difference I expected to see, but in the end the same results occurred. Frizzy, poofy, dried out hair. With not a single iota of cu I know it wasn't a failure on the part of another product because no other part of my hair routine had/has changed. Its just a lemon of a product.
Oh and its smells like a mans aftershave/shaving cream. Heavy menthol/synthetic rosemary... Unlike you seriously have a thing for smelling manly, this is not for you. The scent factor has some serious longevity.
I bought the trial/travel size. My hair is just past my shoulders and is fine to medium. The best way to describe my hair is that it's texture is somewhere between a curl and wave. There's more curl definition than wave if I coax it out.
I have only used this once. I hate it when other people only review after one use and I don't normally do it either. But I felt strongly about this.
I used a nickle sized amount. Finger combed it well through my hair and also combed it through. I blow dried my bangs and let the rest air dry like normal. My hair got a bit frizzy but that's just because it was a windy day. Overall, I don't think this is a bad product per se. But......
OMG! THE SMELL! As another reviewer stated, it smells like men's shaving cream. Thank God the smell went away after a couple of hours. I am not normally THAT sensitive to fragrances but this was horrible. It could be that it was a jolt because normally our hair products usually smell nice. lol
I really don't think this is a bad product. Not every product is going to work the same for everyone. But if you are at all sensitive to smell, buy the trial/travel size first.
This is great for curly hair! I have very long, curly, frizzy hair and this works great. I usually have to use mouse or gel to tame my hair and realized most products dry my hair out. This does not. My hair is long and healthy because of this. I use a dime size on top of my head and another for the ends. Most days I let it air dry. It's not crunchy. I have no frizz. Plus my hair usually looks better the second day. That has never happened. Already used 2 tubes and will continue buying this product.
While this isn't my Holy Grail Hairstyling Product per se (obviously, I haven't found one that is yet...), it still works well at encouraging my hair to curl without being frizzy, and I don't have any trouble w/it feeling crunchy or too heavy; then again, I only use about a dime-sized amount for my short curly bob and work it through thoroughly. It also seems to work better in conjunction w/one of the Nuance shampoo/conditioner sets (I'm using the Raw Honey) than it does with unrelated products, but that's just my experience. YMMV, of course, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

I had hope this would be a great styling product, but, ugh. It made my hair extra crispy. It has the texture more like a creme than a gel, so you would think it would be more moisturizing than straight hair gel. It does an okay job of holding the curl in my hair, but as the day goes on the ends start to frizz up and my hair ends up feeling like straw. One positive is that it smells alright.

I have dry, colored, long, fine, curly hair and have tried a plethora of products from serums, lotions, potions and special salon treatments to lessen frizz and kink. I was very surprised by this product when I first bought the sample size. This cream smoothed out and left my curls soft, defined and looking great. I have not experienced any 'crunchy' effect whatsoever. I would put this on par the with Bumble and Bumble Groom Creme only a little lighter in texture and less expensive.
How I use the product - I use VO5 conditioners for a 'no-poo' wash and condition 3 times a week. For the 'wash' I use one of the Tea Therapy VO5s like Blackberry Sage Revitalizing Conditioner and the for the 'condition' part I use the regular VO5 Extra Body Volumizing Conditioner. I then take a quarter sized amount of the volumizing conditioner and work into hair before putting hair into a Turbie. I let hair dry in the towel a few minutes while doing makeup then work about a 50 cent piece worth of the Blue Agave Curl Cream into my hair and dry 3/4 of the way using an ionizing hair dryer with a diffuser. I usually let my hair air dry the other 1/4 of the way. It's quite simple actually.
This is an herb based sulfate and paraben free product not tested on animals. It does have 'cones....however I have not had an issue with build up or scalp problems thus far after about 2 months of use. ('Cones usually make my scalp itch.)
I have repurchased the product in the regular size and continue to use it.

I've read various middling reviews on this product, but I have to admit - it worked really well on my hair [which is fine, full, and very wavy]. I use Set it Free to bring out the curl, and then I let it air dry. When it's dry, I apply just a little bit of this stuff. I think the trick is not to use too much. Voila! Soft, soft hair that retains the curl and moisture. I bought a sample size in NYC, but I'm planning to order more on the website.

This did not work to make my hair curl much and left it stiff and crunchy. i had expected soft, conditioned glossy curls. And, it smelled almost exactly like my husbands smelly shaving cream. I'm glad i just bought the sample size b/c i won't be using it.
