I tried this one last year in Honey and I loved it. I have very sparse, light eyebrows and was able to feather this in for a very natural look. The downside was it only lasted me a few weeks. Since then I tried pencils (the kind with a sharpener) in different brands, and although that types last a long time, I found them inferior to this product. So, I'm repurchasing the Sephora retractable brow pencil again - it is worth it!
I have a couple issues with my brows. I have a scar under one of them and most brow pencils will not lay color down over the scar. My hair is light brown, very ashy, and my brows are similar, maybe a shade lighter. Most brow pencils are too dark for me, even the "blonde" ones make me look like Cruella de Vil! But this one is great, comes in a nice range of shades. I use the #2 Nutmeg brown and it is nearly perfect. I wish it was a little ashier, but it works. The product is firm enough that it keeps its point and draws a fine line and doesn't crumble, but soft enough to easily lay down color, even over my scar. The little comb on the other side also works great, I use it to get the brow into place before I color it in, and also it works to blend if I went a little overboard. I have never in my life actually used up a brow pencil, but I am on my second one. It's not as cheap as a drugstore brow pencil, but it actually works! Much more affordable than similar pencils in the high end brands.
Love this brow pencil! It looks like it's not worth what it costs but it really can last for 3 months! It can make those fine strokes that look like hair! Very easy to use and it's retractable! Love it, give it a try and it's only $12!
This is my HG 'fill in' pencil. Wish there was more product though...worth the try.
This is the best eye brow pencil that I have ever used! Very nice! I've tried a million different things for my brows and this by far is the best!! I l would tell anyone looking for something to fill in or creat an eye brow to give this a try!!
I recently switched from the Tarte waterproof pencil, which I really like, but I like this one slightly better. It is less expensive by about 8 dollars. I have light hair and fair skin so I use the lightest shade and it matches nicely. I can't attest to how waterproof it truly is since I only fill in my brows to shape them up a bit but if you plan to draw on your brows, you may want to do a trial before going swimming or venturing out in the rain, just to be sure.
Overall, a good pencil. The one imperfection I've found is that sometimes the pencil drags a bit (just like the tarte pencil and others like it) causing slightly uneven application, although it's an easy fix.
So I never thought I needed eyebrow pencil till I realized how much better I looked with it one day when I was just messing around putting it on and wondering why so many people use it? I have pretty thick hair, long lashes, but I hadn't realized that I do have some minor gaps in my eyebrows and my entire eye makeup just looks so much more together when my brows are unified and defined. On top of that, ashamedly I hadn't realized that my right eyebrow hasn't recovered from some overzealous plucking I put it through *years* ago. (ugh what was I thinking).
I use this in midnight brown which seems to be the vogue color per the previous reviewers as well. I like that its not too too dark like some brow pencils. Given that my hair is actually naturally very dark, but I get highlights and I dont want my brows looking jet black which is a problem I get even with dark brown pencils with other brands. The color is spot on, its so easy to use, soft and easily blends, doesnt look like color because its crayon-y and very easily melts into skin. Also doesnt really budge until I take it off at the end of the day. The color is perfect for matching my natural color but also blending with highlights. I used it everyday and it ran out in about a month which is less than I'd like but that's okay, I like it tons and I dont think its very expensive at all so very much worth it. I dont generally use sephora brand products but was very impressed with this. Might try some of their brushes or body lotion next, this has been a fantastic brow pencil. Only recommend it. No cons for me!
I have bought this product multiple times in the course of YEARS. It is my ultimate go-to brow pencil and I definitely recommend it. I love this stuff. I buy this in the color Midnight Brown. Recently I tried another drugstore brow pencil because the price can be a smidge pricey. It is listed for $12 online. I forgot how much it is in-store, it might be the same. All that has done for me is make me remember why I love it in the first place. The thing I love the most about this product is its staying power. I am in humidity almost all the time, and this pencil does not fade away. I wear this product ALL DAY and it 100% stays. Right now I'm enduring and finishing the rest of the drugstore product I bought before I run back into Sephora repenting for my foolishness of trying to find a replacement.
For the comment regarding the product amount: This pencil has 0.003 oz, which I admit sounds very little, but I've searched around the Sephora website and other brands have even LESS product for significantly higher prices. MAC Cosmetics who has a similar brow pencil item actually has the same amount of product for a few dollars more.
I'm happy to have found this! I used the blonde/lightest color and it was a good match for my dark auburn hair. The pencil itself is very thin and precise, making it easy to use. I also appreciate the little comb on the other end. The only major problem I have is that I went through a whole pencil so fast! There doesn't seem to be much product in the twist tube, so I'm not sure if it's actually a good deal or not.
I've tried a lot of different brow products and this is my favorite pencil so far. It's the perfect texture to draw on my brows-neither too hard nor too soft. It's hard enough to draw on hairs naturally but soft enough that it's not painful or difficult to use. It's easy to blend out with a brow brush. I'm very fair and cool toned, and I dye my hair either red or brownish red. My natural brows are very blonde and very sparse. I use this in the Rich Chestnut and although it's not a perfect match (which I think would look weird anyway) I think it looks quite good. I've been pleasantly surprised with most of Sephora's products, and I will definitely buy this again.
