I bought this along with some of the other LE Black Honey Products during the Australian release this summer as I'd never tried the lip colour before and thought it would be a good way to try two products pretty much for the price of one. The 'Almost' lip colour is lovely, really sheer and very pretty but the gloss is a bit too sticky for my liking. That said I don't hate it and it is a nice introduction to the colour, it also led me to buy the Black Honey eye shadow quad which is absolutely gorgeous - so it's not all bad!

I like the Black Honey almost lipstick, though it is a little dark on me in the winter but don't love it as much as some similar products like Fresh lippies and Lipstick Queen's Medieval.
That being said, I hate the gloss. The color is a little dark on me again but my real problem is the sticky feeling it leaves on my lips. Also, the cap of the lipstick does not stay on really well after some use - so this makes it a little inconvenient. For the price, I'm not really impressed and not sure I'll be purchasing either lipstick or gloss separately again.

I originally went to the store in order to get the Black Honey almost lipstick (part of the fall 2011 collection Black Honey). But it was already sold out. I decided to get the lipgloss/lipstick duo instead (also LE) and I am so happy I purchased it. It is the best berry color I have ever seen. I've worn it every single day since I bought it. Furthermore I adore the fact that it's both a gloss and a lipstick, makes the price tag pretty reasonable after all. I usually wear the lipstick with the gloss on top.
To sum it up, Black Honey is such a perfect fall/winter color. I will be sad if it's not around when it is time to replace it. continued >>

UPDATE: WOULD NOT CONSIDER DUE TO ANIMAL TESTING FOR CHINESE MARKET 17/02/2012 Got this duo last week & I'm totally in love. I'm wondering why I never tried this color before. It's quite simply the perfect berry color for me. The look is natural & longer lasting than I expected. The gloss has a nice texture & is not too sticky. I removed a lippie due to the packaging. I find it looks a bit cheapish & could have bene nicer.
Edit: I took off 2 lippies. The packaging is the worst ever. The cap on the lipstick side keeps getting off in my purse, staining other items or my fingers. The Clinique logo on the gloss side is almost all erased making the whole thing look real cheap. I know Clinique isn't high end but still they could have made an effort. I will have to repurshase these separately since I do like both. I'll keep this one at home. continued >>

LOVE this! Just picked this one up along with the black honey blush which is also LE. The black honey almost lipstick has long been a favorite. It is a fall/winter staple! I absolutely adore the combo of the lipstick and gloss or even just the gloss alone. Staying power is good and the color just makes my lips look juicy. I would buy again in a heartbeat!

I'm really impressed with this product. I must admit, I'm kind of obsessed with the Black Honey collection right now. I love the colors and how they work together so well. The Black Honey lip duo is no exception.
I've wanted to try the Black Honey almost lipstick for a while now. It has so much hype but whenever I went to the store and swatched it on my hand, it was so sheer that I didn't understand the appeal. Then I saw Samantha Chapman (Pixiwoo on YouTube) do a tutorial on her Real Techniques channel and she used the black honey gloss (I'm assuming it was the duo because she used almost everything else in the collection), and it looked fabulous on her. So I broke down and got it. I'm really happy I did!
According to sephora.com, this product is limited edition, and I'm now contemplating running out to get a back-up because I really love it. The lipstick side is the perfect fall "my lips but better" color. I actually hate and am so sick of that phrase, but it really rings true for this! And I'm honestly not a gloss person at all. In fact, I don't give them the light of day because I find that most are sticky no matter what they claim. But I really like the texture of this one. The only glosses I've found that I like are the Chanel ones, and I would say the Clinique gloss in this duo (I'm not sure if the others are the same or not) are very close to the texture of the Chanel glossimers. Yeah, I said it!
The color is gorgeous. I couldn't stop starring at my lips in the mirror today after applying it.
The only downside, for me anyway, was that the top of my lipstick side broke off as I applied it for the first time. I almost got out of my car to go back to Sephora to exchange it since I was still in the parking lot, but because it was a small amount, I decided to just go with it. It was disappointing though. I don't know if others have this problem or mine was just faulty. So that's why I took away one lippie.
Anyhoo, overall, I'm very happy with this product. I think for $21, it's a great addition to your collection! Some of the other Black Honey collection products where a tad over-priced I thought and because of the hype surrounding the lip color, I was surprised that it was reasonably priced.

I think that this is limited edition for Fall 2011. I paid 21.00 US $. The gloss has a SPF of 15. The entire dual ended package is approx. 4 inches long.
The glosswear end states that it has .2 fl oz. or 6ml of product. It has a doe foot applicator.
The almost lipstick end doesn't have a weight but it is approx a 1/4 inch in diameter and approx 1 inch long when swiveled completely out of base. Packaging is 2/3 silver with the gloss end clear to show color of gloss.
I bought this because I don't have any of the gloss and I ran out of the almost lipstick in Black honey. I always like to keep that on hand. Although this is small, it's a convenient size to tuck into the back pocket of jeans, a evening clutch or a makeup bag for your purse. Instead of packing the full size of both.
Black honey is an enigma to describe. I put it on and my skintone brings out the very plummy side of it. I have a very good friend that puts this on and her skintone brings out more of the brown side of the color and makes her teeth very white. The gloss itself does lean more plummy.
This is a cult classic and if you haven't tried it, I always suggest cult classics because they have that status for a reason :-D Just swatch at the counter before you buy!
