I'm 58 and have seen my uneven eyebrows (one is higher than the other) gradually disappear as I grow older. So far Botox has helped what brows I have stay up, but they are thin with several noticeable bald spots. I have tried brow powders, pencils, gels & brushes from Anastasia, Too-Faced, Bobbie Brown, Lancome - none have worked. Powder doesn't stick to my skin unless I use eyebrow wax first which only makes the few hairs I have stick to my skin which makes it tough to apply the powder. More powder lands on (and sticks!) my nose than on my eyebrows, meaning more time wasted doing repair work. Using eyebrow pencils works if you have full lashes, but looks really fake when you have to fill in too many bare spots. Stupid eyebrow stencils from Anastasia & Too-Faced must be made for giants - every single one is way too long for my eyebrows (seriously, who has eyebrows that extend to their earlobes?). Since stencils don't work, I have to draw my brows free-form & it literally takes me longer to do my brows everyday than all my other makeup application time combined. Even when I have the rare day where the powder sticks and the eyebrows end up looking even, by the time I finish drying my hair, the ends have smeared or been smudged off.
Long story short - I found the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof brow color and it's truly a godsend! The "medium" color is perfect (no reddish tint) and once it's on, it stays on all day - hallelujah! It covers my bare spots beautifully, too. I don't mind spending more money on a product that actually does what I bought it to do. This one's a keeper!
Terrible product. I have dark eye brows but they are sparse and as such I use a brow powder and pencil for my day to day. I bought this product after the makeup artist told me how defined it makes your brows and how the pen is so great for applying. The pen itself is a decent idea however I found that the brush was too soft to do any proper lines on my brow. I bought the darkest shade and the product itself was almost grey and so light I could barely see it. The product itself dried out after 2 weeks even with the cap being on properly.
I would not buy again, for $27.00 this was a total waste.
This is defintely a WOW product. I have dark bushy eye brows and nothing seemed to give me that polished looked. I have tried Anastasia Beverly Hills pencils but they didn't seem to last long. This tint truly last all day long. It has a soft pencil like tip and can be a little hard to wash off (sea breeze astringent helps). What i love about this tint is that it goes on very lightly and you can darken it with just a few light storkes. It's perfect for shading. I finish it off with e.l.f wet gloss lash and brow clear masacara and finally, my brows look polished :*) Only draw back is the price!
I have naturally relatively thick brows, but I loved this for filling in certain areas and shape definition. It really does stay all day and it lasted me through everyday use about 6 months. It has a featherlight application which looks beautifully natural. I've run out and I'll be trying a couple different ones for curiosity sake (since I'm relatively new to the brow filling department and can't see myself sticking to the first one I try. Kind of like a first boyfriend! Teeheehee...) After that I'll come back and edit my post, but I imagine if the couple others don't work out I'll be coming back to stila! For now I'm putting it as a yes, but it still is a 5/5 product.
Stila's Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color is the brow product I have been searching for. Everything else I have tried is either too warm, too dark, or goes on perfectly then oxidizes to a shade that is too warm or too dark. I have this in the lightest shade and it is an exact match for my ashy, medium-dark blonde brows without a hint red/orange/warm tones.
It comes in a sort of pen with a brush tip that is small, precise and applies the product lightly enough that it is SO easy to fill in and reshape my brows without fear of overdoing it - which I have been known to do with brow powders and gels with relative frequency.
As far as the waterproof aspect, well, I haven't gone swimming with it on but I did try to rinse it off with water both from my hand after swatching and from my brows the first day I wore it and it didn't budge. If I have any complaint at all, it's that it's actually a bit difficult to remove, but that's more or less what I was looking for. I have to concentrate a few extra seconds on my brows when cleasing, but it's nothing over the top.
The only reason I would consider continuing to try other brow products is that I prefer more natural/green/etc. cosmetics, but Stila is at least cruelty free, which I consider a necessity. OVERALL: Highly recommend and will be buying again.
After trying every other "waterproof" pencil for filling in my eyebrows, I bought the Stila Brow Color (in light) to try and I loved it so much that I continued purchasing it over and over until I had my permanent makeup done.
This was the only product that was waterproof and I wore it when we were on vacation by the pool, on the beach, working out, etc. It can melt away a bit like any makeup, but it won't smudge all over your face and make a big mess like a typical pencil would from my experience. It's a shame they only have light, medium, dark available.
My sparse asian eyebrows have always obstructed me from finding the perfect product to fill them without overdoing them, whether it be wrong shade or overfilling. I started with pencil.....then powder. However, with no avail, did those products give me the natural and filled effect that I desired. Once I tried this product, I was seriously, "WOW!". The pigmentation of this pen is really light so I can keep filling without looking overdone and I can always use a spoolie to soften the color. I absolutely LOVE this product. I don't think I will need another product ever again.if you have sparse eyebrows and is looking for a light and natural product, this is it. But If you desire more pigmentation, then this may not be for you. Please keep this product forever, Stila!
I'm always on the search for good eyebrow products and when I read up on this particular brow product I decided to give it a try. I must say I was definitely skeptical at first because when I think of using a pen or liquid form of eyebrow products I feel that it might look unnatural.
I purchased the product at Sephora for $22 in the color Light (I have honey blonde brownish hair and my eyebrow color is naturally black.) Probably the best $22 I've spent. It is definitely on the pricier end but I personally felt it was worth it. The sleek pen packaging makes it very convenient and easy to use. The color matches my brows perfectly and looks SO natural. All you have to do is use light strokes to fill in your brows and then taper off with the tip of the pen.
As far as it being waterproof/smudgeproof, it definitely is smudgeproof and I'm very happy about that. As for the waterproof claim, I do not feel that it is completely waterproof, it might stay on if you sweat or like spray water on your face but if you were to wipe your face with water it will definitely come off.
That being said, it's already much better than the other powder or pencil brow products out there. I would recommend this to everyone and definitely will be repurchasing.
This is the best eyebrow pen/colour/method I have come across.
The best feature is undoubtledly the formula - it is translucent. Unlike so many other eyebrow pens/pencils/powders/gels, this comes out only translucent on the first stroke. This means that you can fill in patches in your eyebrows and have it blend perfectly, but also build up colour to extend/shape your brows. It is the most natural looking, blendable eyebrow product I have come across.
Another great feature of the formula is the colour tone. It is a very natural, dull brown (which blends into my darkish brown eyebrows perfectly). Lots of other formulas I have come across have too much red or black in them, resulting in rich coloured, unnatural looking eyebrows. This colour is perfect for me.
The brush good too. It is small and stiff enough to draw perfect clean lines but bendy enough to curve where I want it to.
I've tried many different eyebrow products, but this is my favourite.
I got this brow "pen" in the colour Medium, though to be honest, I would have preferred "Light" but they were sold out. I am very wary of doing my brows. I know a lot of people say it's the most important part of their eye makeup routine and that brows frame the eyes, etc., etc. but the first time I had my brows done by a makeup artist, I honestly felt I looked like Groucho Marx. I was SO self-conscious. And this feeling continues. On those rare occasions when I do fill in my brows, I'm so concerned that I look weird so I take great pains to keep it subtle (hence my preference for purchasing this in the shade "Light").
So, having said that, let me just also say that this is a great brow product. It has a fine brush tip and the product dispenses much like a lot of those "automatic" eye liner pens. The results this fine brush gives are very subtle and natural looking. I don't have to worry too much about "overdoing" it and having brows that look too dark or heavy. It's sort of a fool-proof product that reliably gives great results. I would gladly repurchase this.
